Vatican: World not ending,
despite Maya prediction

Associated Press, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:Drive, 12/12/2012 8:20:34 AM

VATICAN CITY-The Vatican´s top astronomer has some assurances to offer: The world won´t be ending in about two weeks, despite predictions to the contrary. The Rev. Jose Funes, director of the Vatican Observatory, wrote in Wednesday´s Vatican newspaper L´Osservatore Romano that "it´s not even worth discussing" doomsday scenarios based on the Mayan calendar that are flooding the Internet ahead of the purported Dec. 21 apocalypse. Yes, Funes wrote, the universe is expanding and if some models are correct, will at one point "break away" — but not for billions of years.

Dang! And I was hoping we could get out from under the oppressive yoke of the Obambi and Democrat reign of terror with the end of the world!

I don´t think God makes His decision on what the Vatican or the Mayans or anyone else says. He can end the world any moment - better be ready!

That´s because the Catholics killed all the Mayans.

If the world is not ending, how do you explain the re-election of Obama?

If it does end, it will be Bush´s fault. /s

Better to go by Biblical prophesy:
In the Old Testament, the prophet Joel states, “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.” (Joel 2:31)

There will be 4 consecutive blood moons during Passover & Succot in 2014 and 2015. There will also be two solar elipses in that period as well.
Since much in Bibical prophesy has come to pass this may be ´IT´.
Just when Obamascare kicks in, too. Could it be that the Lord is not a fan of that scam either??

If the world comes to an end on December 21, how is the missing mahdi supposed to climb out of the well with Jesus and set up Sharia law?

Reply 9 - Posted by: BigGeorgeTX, 12/12/2012 5:51:20 PM     (No. 9062241)

Anyone who claims to know when the world will end are after your wallet. We will not know the date or hour, and those that claim to are just using human gullibility to enrich themselves.

Reply 10 - Posted by: Java D, 12/12/2012 7:40:32 PM     (No. 9062365)

If memory serves, I don´t think even Jesus knew the date of the end of the world when asked about same in the New Testament.

Hard to believe we´re in the 21st Century with this Dark Ages superstitious nonsense.

U.S. retail sales contracted in March for the second time in three months and consumer confidence tumbled in April, a sign that tax hikes early this year have stolen momentum from the American economy. Retail sales fell 0.4 percent in March, the Commerce Department said on Friday. That missed analysts´ expectations of a flat reading. The data supports the view that the U.S. economy continues to struggle

Any moonhowler can run for office, so Anthony Weiner is fully welcome to enter the Democratic primary in hopes of convincing New Yorkers that he’s fit to serve as mayor. The one-time congressional dynamo and suicidal sexter will have a lot to prove. That his lying days are over. That he has the emotional maturity and psychic balance to lead a complex city, including in crisis. That he is interested in public service as its own reward, not to fulfill craving for attention. As a councilman and representative, as well as in a run for mayor, Weiner showed promise.

Senators overcame a Republican-led filibuster on gun control Thursday, ensuring that the first post-Newtown legislation will reach the Senate floor and setting up bruising fights over expanded background checks and bans on some guns and ammunition. Family members of the victims of December’s school shooting in Connecticut looked on as senators voted 68-31 to defeat the filibuster.

Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka criticized President Obama’s FY 2014 budget for not promoting job growth while hurting seniors and federal workers. “The president sent Jack Lew to Europe to talk about, to chide them for austerity budgets; they should be investing in growth and things of that sort. It undermines our credibility when our budget here is an austerity budget.” Trumka specifically mentioned several areas of the budget he opposes, including its change to the Consumer Price Index formula used to calculate cost of living adjustments for Social Security payments.

Kirsten Powers has a scathing column at USA Today on the media´s lack of interest in the trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, an abortion doctor charged with the murder of eight. I´ll be keeping track of the trial of this twisted man. It´s ugly, but necessary: Massof, who, like other witnesses, has himself pleaded guilty to serious crimes, testified "It would rain fetuses. Fetuses and blood all over the place." Here is the headline the Associated Press put on a story about his testimony that he saw 100 babies born and then snipped:

I subscribe to the view that barring something truly unforeseeable, the Democratic nomination in 2016 is Hillary’s for the taking. There is no second Barack Obama out there to take the nomination away from her. In fact, the non-Hillary Democratic bench is pathetically weak. Hillary’s many controversies are mostly ancient history, and mostly the fault of her husband, and are unlikely to derail a general election bid. Rather, Hillary’s weakness is her time as Secretary of State, an abysmal performance which has left us weaker internationally than ever before.

One day in early February, I met Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin for breakfast at the Gramercy Park Hotel, one of their regular joints, just a few blocks from their apartment on Park Avenue South. The first thing Weiner said when I sat down was that their 13-month-old son, Jordan, had just moments ago taken his first step. They were both giddy, kvelling with baby-pride, especially Weiner, who, with all his free time, has become his son’s primary caretaker. This is what life is like now for the man whose

It seems very odd that President Obama has made gun control the signature issue of his second term, so far. He can’t possibly achieve any significant legislation; a few tweaks to the background check system, maybe, but there is no chance of getting any meaningful gun control through the House. The House Democrats aren’t even trying. So it also seems strange that all eyes are on the Senate, where Harry Reid will unveil some sort of gun legislation–no one knows what, exactly–on Thursday. The party’s left-wing base is lining up behind the bill, sight unseen.

LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Winters, the cherub-faced comedian whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died. He was 87. The Ohio native died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime family friend. Petro said Winters died of natural causes and was surrounded by family and friends. Winters was a pioneer of improvisational standup comedy, with an exceptional gift for mimicry, a grab bag of eccentric personalities and a bottomless reservoir of creative energy.
