White House’s business adviser says
China’s ‘state-run communism’ works

Daily Caller, by Neil Munro

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 12/11/2012 5:46:15 PM

The chairman of President Barack Obama’s job council has endorsed China’s style of crony capitalism, saying “state-run communism may not be your cup of tea, but their government works.” Jeff Immelt is the dual-hatted chairman of the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, and of General Electric, a huge company with businesses in many domestic and international sectors, including China. He used a Dec. 10 television interview to suggest that China’s type of state-run capitalism has been great for business while lamenting the state of the American economy.

Lots of people admired Mussolini´s fascist state because the trains ran on time. Bummer for the people victimized by the system, but boy, was it efficient!

If Immelt were alive at the time, no doubt he´d praise Il Duce as well.

The China government is working great for the few that are high up in the goverment.
Just like in America they fly around in jets and helicopters eating and drinking on the people money.
How about the 3 Billion people that have 10 percent of what our poor have.
A few years back I spent a couple of months traveling all over China. We got a newspaper that was in english. Every evening Chinas secret service woulkd pick up the newspaper so the common people did not see it.
In the newspaper, they said the poverty in the rural ares are eliminated. By their definition poverty was $39 per year and now the average person in tural areas made $50 per year!
Damn that reall sounds like the govern, ment is working great.
I had a left wing friend state kjust last week how the Cuban government was pretty good as it had lasted for 50 years You can´t fix dumb.

You know if that´s the kind of reasoning they´re going to use then I´ll just offer some equivalently offensive examples.
Slavery worked pretty well to get the pyramids built. And let´s not forget those successful cotton plantations in the old South.

Now the truth. Communism has not worked in China. And neither did the oppressive crony kingdom that preceded it. It´s slight move towards capitalism is the only thing that has pulled it out of the economic doldrums. It has a big economy right now only because it has so many people. On a per-capita basis their economy is awful.

Immelt has made GE the model of the giant business which courts (euphemism) governments to secure preferences and contracts.

And a business can sometimes make a lot of money that way. So it is not surprising to hear him praise the Chinese approach. If that government changed course tomorrow he would praise that too.

As #7 says Mussolini and Fascism would seem to be his ideal. The state blocks competitors, allows profits, and does not nationalize. The business obeys and endorses the state.

Yeah, the cronyism, the corruption and most importantly...the kleptocracy. They are great for those CHOSEN businesses that the state controls or that are in bed with the state. The quid pro quo keeps them in the secondary business of corruption. Sickening that this stuff is said and there is NO outrage from the citizens. You know, I saw the short film by Matthew Modine called "Jesus was a Commie". He claims it isn´t about the kind of communism that Stalin, Mao or Castro had (because they corrupted the concept. Uh, NO! They just acted on normal human behaviors and fallibilities and the real consequences emerged as will always emerge under such a plan. In truth, all "commmunism" is the same and ends up with corruption, manipulation and massive suffering. Modine is a fool because he doesn´t understand the real meaning behind a lot of the things written in the Bible. They use simplistic interpretations without understanding context. No, Jesus was NOT a commie. And there is no "other" kind of communism that can be kinder and gentler and work for the good of all. I am so sick of these people pushing something they really don´t understand.

Let´s just call the new US regime La PRI (Institutional Revolution Party ). If you remember that was the gangster party which ruled Mexico as basically a one-party dictatorship for approximately 70-60 years. We´ve been importing potential PRI voters for a long time. Obama does resemble that great Chinese communist, Chairman Mao in one regard: in a time when the country´s economy was failing, the leader resorted to demagogy and scapegoating successful people. Ultimately, innocent lives were lost and the country lost a generation of productive people and is only now catching up. In that one way, Obama is going to end up cursing America.

Margaret Thatcher had more impact on the world than any woman ruler since Catherine the Great of Russia. Not only did she turn around—decisively—the British economy in the 1980s, she also saw her methods copied in more than 50 countries. "Thatcherism" was the most popular and successful way of running a country in the last quarter of the 20th century and into the 21st. Her origins were humble.
