Klobuchar and Franken fight planned
tax on medical devices

Minneapolis Star Tribune, by Jim Spencer

Original Article

Posted By:Fiesta del sol, 12/11/2012 9:22:54 AM

Minnesota´s two senators sought Monday to delay a tax on medical devices that was expected to add $28 billion over the next decade to help pay for health care reform. Democratic Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken pointed to thousands of high-paying jobs that device companies support in Minnesota, headquarters to such giant devicemakers as Medtronic and St. Jude Medical. The industry has painted the tax as a job killer that would hurt innovation.

Comments:
Neither of these two clowns cared about anything other than ramming Obamacare down our throats when they both voted for it.

Well, this is rich. My brother works at Boston Scientific in Minneapolis; he writes their technical manuals. Last year, Al Franken visited the company and, according to my brother, made a complete fool of himself, insulting the CEOs and refusing to answer a question about the tax on medical devices.. Franken and Klobuchar are two of the most insane, radical senators in Washington. They voted for 0bamacare and are now surprised to learn of its contents.

OK, go ahead, repeal it. Since there was no severability clause in the 0bamaCare bill, wouldn´t repeal of any portion, invalidate the whole thing?

Embattled New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has never made any secret of his man-crush on New Jersey rocker Bruce Springsteen, and until Hurricane Sandy hit it was an unrequited crush. The relationship seemed to take a turn in the immediate wake of the hurricane when Christie literally and figuratively embraced President Obama. According to some reports, Christie was so thrilled to meet Springsteen he "wept" afterwards. The friendship, though, appears to be fair-weather, at least as far as Springsteen is concerned. Tuesday night on Jimmy Fallon´s late night show, the rocker mocked Christie with his signature Jersey hit "Born to Run.":

Now, with word that 2.1 million have so far signed up for private insurance, .(snip) But perhaps the bigger question about the Obamacare number is: How many of the people who are now purchasing coverage on the exchanges are doing so because they lost the coverage

But it seems pretty clear from the vote tally that Tea Party–style "ideological purity has lost its power," says Jonathan Weisman in The New York Times. Under the motor-voter law, federal officials distribute voter-registration forms in all of the states.
