Google chairman Eric Schmidt has publicly declined to join the Obama administration in the new year after a rumoured offer for the post of Treasury Secretary. [Snip] Mr Schmidt´s rebuttal was swift, however, as he told the Wall Street Journal in an interview yesterday: "I said last time and I´ve said again that Google is my home. I have no interest in working for the federal government". Mr Schmidt played in a key role in the re-election of President Barack Obama last month, helping to oversee Google´s $700,000 donation to his campaign. Since Mr Obama took up the US presidency

So, ALL the wealthy people (l%´s)have hidden their money off-shore or in legal ways (is anyone surprised?)or taken early bonuses so they avoid the monstrous tax coming down the road.
That leaves the middle-class (as usual)being the target group for higher taxes. And the subsequent increase in the cost of food and necessities will fall on that group and the poor. And obama´s friends will just keep getting richer and richer while our country declines.
And the obama voters will STILL not understand how things work. It is not just low-information, these voters lack common sense.

Any chance that recent news about google tax sheltering a large part of their business in Bermuda was part of the decision? Also, if he took the post, would that focus the scrutiny of various google activities that might put the company in a less than desireable light? Just say no to google.

Supporters of Egypt´s Islamist Muslim Brotherhood have set fire to university buildings in Cairo, state TV says. One protester was shot dead as students fought police at Al Azhar University, health ministry officials said. Fires were set in the business faculty, where exams had to be postponed, and the agriculture faculty. Authorities have cracked down on the Brotherhood since July, when Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, who belongs to the group, was deposed by the army. The U.S. Marine Corps has quietly walked back a 2012 directive from the service´s highest-ranking officer that would have rejected female recruits and officer candidates who can´t perform three chin-ups as part of their physical fitness training. The reason – 55 per cent of the women attempting the test are failing. Just one per cent of men can´t complete the exercise. ´Women aren’t able to make the minimum standard of three pull-ups,´ Marine spokesman Capt. Eric Flanagan told reporters on Friday. By this stage of the festive season, many homes--if not most--are defined by their mess, from fragments of wrapping paper to discarded pine needles, from toys eagerly seized

When Barack Obama rose to national prominence following his 2004 keynote address at the Democratic National Convention, his African-American heritage was a footnote to the fawning reception he received from the media and from most Americans. While the speech was not a case study in brilliant oratory, Illinois State Senator Barack Obama exuded charisma and eloquently discussed an appealing if not particularly original theme of unity and bipartisanship. Fast forward to today. President Obama´s race is no longer a footnote. It is central to his presidency. It is arguably his defining characteristic. Unity and bipartisanship are nowhere to be found. If you thought the political press was taking stock of its 2012 election year coverage of Mitt Romney’s campaign and was preparing to make some course corrections in order to ensure fairer coverage of the GOP candidates ahead of 2016, you would be mistaken. Indeed, the New York Times appears to view 2012 not as an aberration but as a model for how to cover future Republican presidential campaigns. The first indication that the Times is gearing up to make a Mitt Romney out of Chris Christie came in early December as “bridge-gate,” the allegation that New Jersey’s governor sought

Remember Julia? That cute little cartoon the Obama folks created to illustrate how the president’s policies would provide “health and economic security” for women at all of life’s stages? The real-life Julias aren’t buying. A CNN/ORC International poll out this week finds 60 percent of women opposing ObamaCare. This follows a Kaiser Health Tracking Poll that found half of American women holding an unfavorable view of the law — against only 32 percent in support. In fact, almost all of the increase in the overall unpopularity of ObamaCare can be attributed to the growing number of women rebelling against it. No doubt this
