U Cal.´s New Logo: A Sign of the Times
FrontPage Magazine, by Bruce Bawer

Original Article

So now comes the news that the University of California system has replaced its traditional seal, dating back to 1868, and featuring an open book, a star, and the words “Let there be light,” with a wonderfully horrible new logo that looks like a parody of every misguidedly minimalistic corporate symbol to come down the pike in the last few decades. Remember (are you old enough?) the three-year period in the late 1970s during which NBC, with great fanfare, introduced a new corporate logo – a letter “N” consisting, quite simply, in the words of Wikipedia, “of two trapezoids, one red,

Lol. terrible I went to UCLA so I guess I don´t care. (Wait, is this ours now too? Or just UCB?

Terrible. It´ll lower the status of the institution. Worse than the GAPs (from a few years ago) and Ebay´s renovation of their logos combined.

I actually like logo art, but it´s hard to do well and this isn´t a good look for a University. The "C" looks like it´s Comic Sans or some dorky elementary school font. In reality, it´s probably your basic Photoshop Brush. If it were very sleek, modern, techno... you know German ;), then okay, but this is embarrassing.

Many years ago, I worked for a company that hired one of these corporate identity-logo design firms.

After many meetings during which they sought to "define our mission," and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees, the design firm presented their work. The new logo was the initials of the company´s name, in block letters. A first-grader could have designed it. It was accompanied by a multi-page proposal, full of the most ridiculous marketing babble. It was all such a scam.

We never used their logo. Instead, someone in the art department came up with a little symbol to put on brochures, etc. Cost: nothing but a couple of hours of the artist´s time.

Yes, it´s bad - so bad I couldn´t type straight because I was sputtering and calling ppl in to gawk and heap scorn upon it. It looks like the logo for an elementary school bake sale. I better order some old logo hoodies before they are gone - although I really think they will have to change it back; it´s that bad.

In a way, I hope a Stanford grad designed it as a joke and looted them out of a big fat consultant fee - they deserve it for opening up the system to ridicule.

Silly rabbits! You know Sweden is headquarters for the NWO... of course they´d use the same colors! And the sliding crescent is a truly special touch!!!

After WW2, this is the NWO map that was designed: http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/esp_sociopol_nwo06.htm

Here´s Nixon´s NWO plat from 1972: http://www.cuttingedge.org/news/n1179.cfm

This one is based on 2004 election results: http://partitionamerica.org/partitioned_map.html

The most radical map which I was unable to refind shows Alaska to Russia, Northern states to merge with Canada & Southern merged with Mexico.

Might I suggest it´s time for divide the United States in half... One being Patriots FreeAmerica, following the constitution & the other being ProgressiveLand. I have no problem moving if my location falls into the new ProgressiveLand.

JAKARTA, Indonesia – U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday called climate change perhaps the world´s "most fearsome" destructive weapon and mocked those who deny its existence or question its causes, comparing them to people who insist the Earth is flat. In a speech to Indonesian students, civic leaders and government officials, Kerry tore into climate change skeptics. He accused them of using shoddy science and scientists to delay steps needed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases at the risk of imperiling the planet. The further left a radical politician wants to go, the more likely he is to wrap his agenda in a mainstream Republican brand. In his interview with Bill O’Reilly, Obama compared himself to Nixon (not for the reason most Republicans would expect) and in his State of the City address, Bill de Blasio compared himself to Fiorello H. La Guardia; a former Republican mayor of New York City. The constant mentions of La Guardia, a universally popular figure, were a poor mask for a radical address filled with ugly divisive rhetoric, class warfare and schemes that will bankrupt the city.

No one knows the real name of the Port Hills Groper, the Muslim refugee who stalked and attacked over a dozen women jogging in Port Hills, even though he was arrested, tried and sentenced. Instead the New Zealand court gave him “permanent name suppression” to protect his status in his Muslim community. Judge Jane Farish, who had told a Maori rapist who had lured an Australian tourist into a dark street and beat her while trying to tear off her clothing “If I had my way I would release you today,” let the groper off with community service because his actions

This year, for the first time in history, lower flows in the Colorado River have prompted the federal government to reduce the amount of water flowing into Lake Mead reservoir outside Las Vegas. Bureau of Reclamation officials say if the river´s level doesn´t increase soon, there´s a 50 percent chance that by next year, residents in Arizona, southern Nevada and California will have to start rationing water. The condition left Pakistani officials fuming. “Any linkage of US assistance to this case is not in keeping with the spirit of cooperation between the two countries,” said Pakistan Foreign Office spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam. Now the nightmare returns as former Dinkins staffer and terrorist supporter Bill de Blasio will begin wrecking the city where Dinkins and his Democratic predecessors left off. Bill de Blasio vowed to undo Giuliani’s reforms and turn back the clock on fighting crime and terrorism. Giuliani’s victory was a wake-up call to Democrats that one of the more dangerous cities in the country had rejected their liberal soft-on-crime policies that had made it unlivable. Bill de Blasio’s victory tells them that soft-on-crime is popular again.
