Gerard Depardieu moves to tiny tax haven
in Belgium just 800 YARDS from border
where a third of people are French
citizens dodging Hollande´s high taxes

Daily Mail [UK], by Ian Sparks

French film star Gerard Depardieu has moved into his new ´tax exile´ mansion in Belgium - just 800 yards from the border with France. The 64-year-old actor´s lavish home in the village of Nechin - on a street known as Millionaire´s Row - is less than two minutes drive from the French town of Roubaix. Depardieu is the latest wealthy Frenchman fleeing a looming new tax of 75 per cent on all earnings over one million euros - about £850,000.

Comments:
So next year, Hollande will be collecting EU0.00 from Depardieu.

Poliicians steal from the few to buy votes from the moocher classes. All you need is half of the people to mooch, and to hell with the rest. It is getting harder than ever to respect these tax thieves. Harder to care if they are safe.

I wonder how any libs will leave LaLa Land when the taxes hit them? A lot if them already have their primary residences in states with lower taxes. They are all a bunch of libtards!

How about that? With the stroke of a pen, M. Hollande turned M. Depardieu into M. Depart-o.

Gerard? Bonne chance mon ami.

[I sure enjoyed M. Depardieu in "GreenCard" and "My Father the Hero," which I watched many times with my daughter.]

Another flaming liberal dodging the very system they vote & campaign for. Wonder what tiny corner of the world our Hollywood liberals will move to when they get the socialism they have championed here? I´m sure the Swiss bank accounts are multiplying as I type -- ahead of Obama´s new tax code that starts Jan 1st.

P.S. re #4 -- you must watch him in Manon of the Spring where he plays a misfit hunchback trying to make a go of a rabbit farm on the French countryside with his beautiful bride & only daughter. Yves Montand also starred in a rare cameo part. It has a sequel that I can´t remember the title of (something something "Floret") or maybe the "Spring" film is the sequel. Both films are wonderful. They both illustrate the snobbishness of the French (& it´s a French film!).

#1, who the heck are the Turnpike Troubadours and why should anyone care? Ok, you like their music--good for you....but what does that have to do with that commie Hollande and Depardieu moving to avoid the taxes?????

You see why these totalitarian tyrant UN/CFR/TLC types are pushing so hard for a one-world governance....they want to stop the other millionaires (that are not part of their elite group, their friends or family) from fleeing. They want control over everyone´s life and make us all slaves to the special, chosen elite in permanent power. It is worse than the old feudalism...it is evil and has more in common with Stalin and Hitler, than the Kings and Queens of olden days...

Hasn´t the same thing happened here from people moving from Mass. to New Hampshire? Has that stopped Mass. from raising taxes.

People have to understand that raising taxes is baked into a liberal´s brain no matter how obvious the reverse consequences are. If they went for lower taxes, they would be admitting that republican ideas work and that will never happen. Just look at how mad the Slimes is at Texas for giving businesses incentives to move there. They want people stuck in failure.

Here´s what I think about the Hollywood & Sports celebrities who push socialism on us while dodging paying their fair share. Most are:

1) spoiled by their parents because they were the oh-so-talented "star" of their family
2) further spoiled by Hollywood/Media/their Handlers
3) flunked or skipped their Gov & Poli-Sci classes while getting their "educations"
4) feel enormous guilt that they get to play for a living while making tens of millions annually
5) are too selfish & undisciplined to part with it themselves
6) turn to government to force them to do it, while loathing "big business" to feel better about themselves.

Mr Clegg previously supported the idea of "earned citizenship" for illegal immigrants. NEW YORK - A long-forgotten piece of America´s military history is going up for sale. The original smaller statue of the iconic raising of the U.S. flag at Iwo Jima in 1945 is expected to fetch up to $1.8 million later this month at a New York auction dedicated to World War II artifacts. That such a statue even exists is news to all but the most ardent history buffs. Most Americans are familiar with the 32-foot-tall Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington, Va.
