I’m not bonkers, says mum

The Sun (UK), by James Mills

Sally Roberts fears Neon, seven, may be left with a lower IQ if given the treatment following the removal of a brain tumour. Doctors say it is “clearly” in the boy’s best interests to have radiotherapy and chemotherapy — and say that without it the tumour will recur and kill him. But 37-year-old Ms Roberts says she is taking a “principled” stand because of the potential risks of the treatment. She sparked a hunt this week when she disappeared with Neon. A High Court appeal helped locate the pair. New Zealander Ms Roberts, of Tiverton, Devon, told the court she

The father has no say? It boils down to that old euthanasian/abortion argument judging what someone´s "quality of life" will be if this or that does or does not happen.

Ms. Roberts wishes death over life.

Fine, let her have it.

Perhaps the son will mourn her passing some day.

Having had a brain tumor removed safely, and mainly because it had not attached itself to the brain itself, that was not stated in the article. The treatment given here by my great surgeon worked, slowly, because I am old and healing takes longer. I would opt for the treatment if the doctors were top drawer, in England, not too sure. Maybe they should have made a trip to the various hospitals here that specialize in treating children with terrible problems. The hospitals here do not charge a cent for the care either.

Be careful, people, before you condemn this mother.

Remember that the MSM often do not report fairly or accurately.

I am always suspicious when the media frame these difficult cases as "sick child vs ignorant parents." The MSM always sides with the authoritarian medical establishment.

With such bias in reporting, it is hard to know what if really going on here. I say lay off the mother, unless you have personal knowledge of the details fo the situation.

Mickey Rooney, Legendary Actor,

Mickey Rooney, the pint-sized actor who was one of MGM’s giant box office attractions in the late ’30s and early ’40s, died on Sunday. He was 93. As adept at comedy as drama and an excellent singer and dancer, Rooney was regarded as the consummate entertainer. During a prolific career on stage and screen that spanned eight decades (“I’ve been working all my life, but it seems longer,” he once said), he was nominated for four Academy Awards and received two special Oscars, the Juvenile Award in 1939 (shared with Deanna Durbin) and one in 1983 for his body of work.

Last week, news broke that a congressional candidate in Gainesville had a secret pastime: impersonating vampires. And superheroes. Some people would call this nutty. In Florida, we just call it Tuesday. Seriously, that´s not even our highest-profile vampire story. Remember the "vampire killings" from Lake County? Some of our stories are heartbreakingly tragic. But so many are also mind-numbingly strange. In Florida, we do weird the way Kansas does wheat. Here, giant pet snakes escape. And breed. And then invade our national parks. We have fish that eat people, alligators that eat people and people who eat people.

One of the latest tools targeting the growing problem of texting while driving didn´t come out of Apple, Google or Microsoft. It was the brainchild of two Orlando-area entrepreneurs who recently launched a new mobile app called Txt Shield. The idea behind Txt Shield, which runs on Android phones, is to short-circuit any texting capability when people are cruising down the highway, according to brothers Philip and Geoffrey Stiles, co-founders and partners in Txt Shield LLC. Parents can install it on their teens´ phones; employers can put it on company-issued phones; and individuals can download it to help resist the urge to

President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security caught then released 68,000 aliens who had previously been convicted of a crime, a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies shows. The report, provided to Breitbart News ahead of its late Sunday evening release, reviews internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) metrics to conclude that the Obama administration released 35 percent—or 68,000—convicted criminal aliens back into the U.S. general population when they could have been deported. President Obama says the thousands of Irish immigrants in the US are being denied opportunities because of the US strict immigration laws. The President was speaking the traditional Shamrock ceremony at the White House as part of the St Patrick´s Day celebrations. The issue of immigration reform was a priority for the Irish Government delegation, led by Enda Kenny. The delegation has been lobbying in Washington during the St Patrick´s Day trip for reforms to benefit the 50,000 undocumented Irish there. President Obama said too many undocumented Irish were denied the chance to contribute to society as they were not able to pay taxes

Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression.
