A Dallas Cowboys player was arrested Saturday on charges of intoxication manslaughter after a rollover accident in Irving, Texas, that killed a teammate, police said. Police arrested defensive tackle Josh Brent, 24, after an early-morning accident that killed passenger Jerry Brown, 25, a linebacker on the Cowboys practice squad. Police said Brent was driving his car at a high rate of speed at 2:21 a.m., when he hit the outside curb on Route 114. The car flipped at least once before coming to rest in the middle of a service road. Brown was found unresponsive by emergency workers and was transferred

I guess Bob Costas will be editorializing Monday night to have US ride around like the Amish in a horse and buggy.

Didn´t say why they were out at 230 am but it´s not hard to imagine why.Strip clubs probably close at 2.This is why Costas ranted about guns as a distraction to the sub culture behavior. Never did hear whether the Chiefs LB´s gun was legally registered.

These players can get off the hook on simple DUI charges but they can´t bring back dead friends. Maybe concussions will be blamed for this also.

Unfortunately, Brent got his one warning shot and did not learn his lesson.

Very sad for all involved.

Just very sad. This happens all the time to "civilians," but we hear about it when those involved are pro athletes. I recall a similar case many years back, when another young pro football player realized he was responsible (driving and drinking) for the death of his good friend and passenger. He pulled a gun from his vehicle trunk and shot himself at the scene. Surely Brent wishes he were dead instead of his friend.

Doctors can be hard people to shock, but a recent case left one surgeon flabbergasted. A 63-year-old man came to hospital complaining of vomiting and stomach pain. He claimed he´d swallowed the lid of a bottle in an act of anger during a marital dispute, and was given an x-ray. Doctors knew what they were seeing was no bottle cap, but it was not until they operated on the man that the source of his complaint was revealed. Twelve bars of gold weighing nearly 400g were found in the man´s stomach and removed. The BBC reports that police and customs authorities had questioned the businessman and confiscated the gold.

Doha, Qatar - The Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamic political organization that has been defanged in almost every area where it was once a key player, has driven a deep rift between the Gulf´s two most powerful players. Months of tension between Qatar and its neighbors came to a head last month when Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) withdrew their ambassadors. Although the regional Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) announced yesterday that the parties had resolved their disagreement, that will likely remain a surface-level fix unless Qatar abandons its support of the Muslim Brotherhood – something it

Washington - The Obama administration is putting off its decision on the Keystone XL oil pipeline, likely until after the November elections, by extending its review of the controversial project indefinitely. In a surprise announcement Friday as Washington was winding down for Easter, the State Department said federal agencies will have more time to weigh in on the politically fraught decision — but declined to say how much longer. Officials said the decision will have to wait for the dust to settle in Nebraska, where a judge in February overturned a state law that allowed the pipeline´s path through the state.

Washington - The National Archives on Friday released its largest batch yet of previously withheld documents from the Clinton administration, with topics including the conflicts in Somalia and Rwanda, Middle East peace negotiations, the Oklahoma City bombing and public figures as varied as Richard M. The bundle that is likely to receive the most attention, though, is one that covers Hillary Rodham Clinton’s ill-fated attempt as first lady to overhaul the health care system. Mrs. Clinton, who ran for president in 2008, is considering a second attempt in 2016. Here are some notable sections:
