Jewish students running gauntlet of

Daily Mail [UK], by Melanie Phillips

The delegitimisation campaign against Israel, comprising the obsessional lies and blood libels promulgated by the media and intelligentsia week in, week out, has produced this result: Jewish students in Britain are being forced to abandon their university courses out of fear. On the Jewish Chronicle blog, Marcus Dysch reports: ‘Attacks have created a “toxic atmosphere” in which Jewish students no longer feel comfortable, a delegation of community representatives told senior Edinburgh University officials. ‘Among those who felt the need to leave was a former Edinburgh Jewish Society chair who dropped

Comments:
I don´t remember this kind of hatred in England when I was growing up. The lefties have done a really good job of elevating the Palestinians to ultra victim status and demonizing Jews. But then, they´ve demonmized Dead European Males, white males, conservative females, and (in the US) southerners, athose against unfettered immigration, on and on.

Regardless of one´s religious background, there is NO dispute of the contributions by Jewish people world-wide to humanity.

This report is truly horrible.

As a Catholic and with friends and family who are Jewish, we celebrate both Catholic and Jewish traditions. The culture, the history, the music, art and literature is all an amazing tapestry of the best of human culture.

I cannot think of a recent contribution from the Islamic culture other than death, destruction and annihilation (sp?).

As one muslim terrorist stated in a video...the difference between us and the "west" is that you celebrate life and we celebrate death.

IMO any one who embraces the islamic faith, must also embrace death. Truly sad.

First, San Francisco-based commuters to Google Inc got buses with plush seats and free WiFi. Now, they are getting security. [Snip] Their presence comes a few weeks after Google buses were targeted by protesters who blame tech-industry employees for rising city rents. Gone are the days when mentioning Google as an employer gave young technology workers a certain counterculture credibility. As the company has expanded well beyond its Web search-engine roots to become a behemoth encompassing advertising, smartphones, finance and social networking, it has gone from scrappy start-up to a Goliath that many resent for its power.

David Cameron plans to strip welfare handouts from immigrants who cannot speak English. In a radical bid to slash Britain’s benefits bill, the Prime Minister intends to stop printing welfare paperwork in foreign languages and prevent claimants using taxpayer-funded translators at benefits offices. [Snip] Tories hope that axeing foreign-language versions of documents explaining how to claim benefits would make it harder for immigrants such as newly arrived Romanians and Bulgarians to cash in on the UK’s benefits system, encourage others already here to learn English--and save money spent on translators. The world, we keep being told, is coalescing into blocs. No single nation can afford to stand aside. The future belongs to the conglomerates. It’s hard to think of a theory that has become so dominant with so flimsy a basis. The story of the our age has been one, not of amalgamation, but of disaggregation: empires have split into smaller and smaller units. Fifty years ago, there were 115 states in the United Nations, today there are 193. What’s more, small territories are generally more successful. The wealthiest states on Earth, measured by per capita GDP, are Liechtenstein, Luxembourg,

But it seems pretty clear from the vote tally that Tea Party–style "ideological purity has lost its power," says Jonathan Weisman in The New York Times. A federal commission rejected three states’ requests to ask voters for proof of citizenship, issuing a complex decision Friday that said it’s up to the national government, not the states, to decide what to include on registration forms. Under the motor-voter law, federal officials distribute voter-registration forms in all of the states. Arizona, Kansas and Georgia all asked that those forms request proof of citizenship, but the federal Election Assistance Commission rejected that in a 46-page ruling.
