Anti-American Remarks in the Past

He´s known the world over for his hit song that has people dancing Gangnam Style. But South Korean rapper Psy, who is the star of the halftime show at next Sunday´s Bills game in Toronto, has had to issue an apology for some anti-American comments he´s made. Psy´s halftime show at the Bills vs. Seahawks game at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on December 16 will feature more than 60 dancers, Buffalo Jills Cheerleaders, and hundreds of contest winners.[Snip] "I´m deeply sorry for how these lyrics could be interpreted."

Comments:
I´m pretty sure they´re not dancing Gangnam Style at 2nd ID´s HQ at Camp Red Cloud. Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame, dude.

So? Our president has made some anti-American remarks in his past, and he´s not apologizing.

This isn´t an apology, a denial, a retraction, an explanation or anything of the sort. It simply implies that if anyone took his "lyrics" the wrong way, he is deeply sorry. The assumption is that what he said is ambiguous and thus open to several interpretations, at least one of which is acceptable. This is nonsense, and insulting nonsense at that. Does he (actually the publicist who composed this non-anything) think we are fools? He could be right. There are plenty of Americans perfectly prepared o accept these absurd comments and eager to "move on."

"In 2004, Psy rapped on a South Korean metal band’s song, “Dear American,” at a protest concert, The Washington Post reported.

“Kill those f---ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives,” he said.

“Kill those f---ing Yankees who ordered them to torture.”

“Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers.”

“Kill them all slowly and painfully.”

"Psy and several performers were protesting the execution of a Korean missionary who had been captured by Islamists demanding that South Korea not aid the U.S. in the war.

"Two years earlier, after a pair of Korean schoolgirls were mowed down by a U.S.-operated armored vehicle, Psy again expressed vitriol toward America. Onstage, he smashed a plastic model of a U.S. tank into pieces as the crowd cheered, The Korea Herald reported.
Psy apologized in a statement to the Daily News, adding that the song in question is from nearly a decade ago, and was "part of a deeply emotional reaction to the war in Iraq and the killing of two Korean schoolgirls."

This episode highlights the innate intellectual and moral depravity and deeply antisocial nature of so-called rap "music." Violence, hatred, revenge, boasting, dishonesty, lawbreaking, rebellion, pathological egotism and emotional immaturity are characteristic of this wretched genre, which naturally appeals to teenagers(not all of whom are still in their teens).

The news item doesn´t make much sense. It is hard to see how these dreadful hate-filled "lyrics" could be a rational or even an irrational response to the murder(beheading) of a South Korean missionary by Islamists. Then we are told that two S. Korean girls were "mowed down" and killed by an American military vehicle. No mention is made of the findings of the subsequent investigation, which found the American personnel not guilty of negligent homicide. Nor does the "artist" seem to remember or possibly even to know what American military personnel are doing in S.Korea to begin with. Does he think they are on vacation? But it is the barbaric summons to torture and kill as slowly and painfully as possible American military personnel and their families because of alleged torture of terror suspects that takes the cake. These are reprehensible, dishonest, misleading, hateful claims and insinuations that he has not disavowed, merely said that he should have kept to himself. He wants us to think that because he said these things 8 years ago they somehow no longer matter.

But I am glad, though not at all surprised, that Obama plans to forge ahead and attend the scheduled Christmas(!) performance. It is precisely so that Americans can see and learn more about the man they chose as their president that his re-election is a blessing in disguise.

Anyone think PSY would be cut any slack?

He would be run out of the country totally destroyed is what.

So he deserves no less by wishing death upon our soldiers.

Psy has accomplished the difficult: apologising just enough to give the Dems some cover, but not so much as to end Dem desire to revel in the guilt and loathing opportunity of his performance for BO.

With $6 trillion down the drain, you might think that wild, drunken spending of other people’s money that we do not have is President Obama’s single greatest talent. Turns out there is something else he is even better at. That would be the hysterical, doom-and-gloom fear mongering we have witnessed these past few weeks over comparatively small cuts to the federal government. [Snip] What is truly astonishing and breathtaking here is that all of this doom and gloom Mr. Obama has predicted is precisely what he wants for this country.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent
