It’s Time To Stick It
To the Blue States

Power Line, by John Hinderaker

After years of campaigning for higher taxes, it is beginning to dawn on liberal residents of blue states that the effects, for them, will not be pretty. Most of the nation’s “rich”–those earning over $250,000 a year, or, depending on President Obama’s mood, $175,000–live in the blue states. Moreover, the deductions that are likely slated for reduction or elimination, including state taxes and home mortgages, mostly benefit blue state residents. So the New York Times, a prime agitator for higher taxes, appears to be having second thoughts: As they continue to wrangle over the year-end fiscal deadline

They will escape to Red States and infect them with their liberalism.

We aren´t going to win this tax battle; we can only hope that Obama and the Democrats own this economy after they get their way. But I look forward to the blue states getting hit hard!

Residents of Blue states who voted for Obama need to have punishing taxes levied on them ... these are the people who just LOVE to spend other people´s money except, of course, now it will be THEIR money. California has done that in spades to achieve a financial debacle there that no other state wants to experience. Obama is THEIR guy so what´s the problem? What you sow so shall you reap, Richie Rich. And stay out of my state fools.

They move to Red states to escape the liberal hell they have created in their home states.

Then many start whining about how much better it was ´back home´.

Then the whiners start working to recreate the cesspits they just escaped from.
And they vote for the same kind of liberals they did ´back home´.

These kind of escapees have pretty well ruined much of North Carolina, Florida and many other parts of the south.

The first deduction that has to go is the one for state income taxes. Those of us in the red states should not to have to subsidize the blue states that have high state income taxes.

Just as there are exemptions for corporations that don´t want the Obamboozlercare (so long as they play nice) there could well be tax exemptions in the works for top earners (so long as they play nice). This is how Marxists build a following.

Obama wants to raise taxes. His first inclination is to raise everyone´s taxes and blame it on the GOP. His strategy is to force the GOP to keep proposals until they create new revenue without raising taxes this year. Then next year he will take the new revenue and then raise taxes. I´d rather have everyone pay the Clinton rates than create new revenue this year AND then pay the Clinton tax rates in addition in a year.

If every red state got rid of their state income tax it might mean a huge wealth transfer to them from the blue states. Obamacare is a huge opportunity for this as well. Every state that refuses to cooperate will wind up being subsidized by blue states. Another way to make it more difficult for blue staters to move to red states would be for red states to refuse to recognize credentials from blue states, and force them to obtain new credentials. I´ll tell you one thing, if I ever escape from California I will never tell anyone where I came from.

Happened in Russia, China, Cuba and Cambodia. The greatest punishment is allways reserved for the useful idiots. The conservative opposition gets the re-education camp. These wealthy Obama supporters are the super rich. No tax increase will affect their lifestyles. But for the ones who are still working, enjoy your Obamacare taxes, your increased rates of tax on long-term capital gains, your 43% tax on qualified dividends. Have fun sending your money to Barack. He´ll be jetting around the US and the world calling you a bunch of greedy rich people. He knows, he is a greedy rich person. ($16 million from his books through 2011.)

It will all be fun and games until the Treasury auction comes and no buyers are there. Then he will have to turn to your IRA and 401(k) accounts. Sorry about that. You are the ones that voted for him.

The House Oversight Committee has voted to hold former IRS subpotentate Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress, while the House Ways and Means Committee has referred her case to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution. The facts in the case suggest very strongly that Ms. Lerner has earned the contempt of the American people as well as criminal prosecution to the full extent of the law. The question of whether Justice will do justice now rests with the Obama administration, in service to which Ms. Lerner organized and oversaw the repression of nonprofit activists under color of IRS authority. A few weeks ago, with no notice, the U.S. government intercepted Mary Grice’s tax refunds from both the IRS and the state of Maryland. Grice had no idea that Uncle Sam had seized her money until some days later, when she got a letter saying that her refund had gone to satisfy an old debt to the government — a very old debt. When Grice was 4, back in 1960, her father died, leaving her mother with five children to raise.
