‘Too Little, Too Late’
Washington Free Beacon, by Bill McMorris

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on Monday blasted defunct Twinkie manufacturer Hostess Brands, Inc., for “unreasonably delaying providing the [Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International] Union with other requested information” and ordered the company to post signs admitting its bad-faith bargaining in its Biddeford, Maine offices. It is unclear who will seen the signs. “It doesn’t sound like it hurts Hostess because no one works in that factory anymore,” said Jim Anderson, the financial secretary for the BCTGM Local 334, the union that brought the suit. “It’s too little, too late

Comments:
How shocking. The radicals in the NLRB blast the company. I´m sure those 18,000 people who are now unemployed thanks to the union Marxists are pleased with their oh so hollow victory. s/o Oh, that´s right. They can sit on their hind ends while our tax dollars pay for them.

Does the NLRB have any other reason for being other then to protect Unions??

Probably not going to mean much. There are no laborers to whom Hostess now relates.

I would post the signs and publish photos of them on the web especially for the Labor Union idiots to observe. It would be a gigantic "So What?" and middle finger insult to the Øbama moron Mafia thugs who now rule the NLRB.

This is so very very typical of a goobermint bureaucracy.........weeks after the plant closes, they demand the signs be posted.

Months after 9/11, Atta had his application for a visa approved.

But they´ll do Healthcare SO MUCH better......

Excuse me but the Teamsters (hint: also a union) got all the financial disclosure they needed. I dunno how they did it: Asked for it? Read it when it was offered to them? Anyhow, they got all the disclosed information.

Beats me how the bakers could say it wasn´t available.

NLRB is a destructive force helping the parasitic unions - but generally incompetent fools, too.
Parasites (unions) doing what they do, weakening and eventually killing the host. well, actually Hostess in this case. [grin]

The poor fool being interviewed apparently thinks his loss of job was just bad luck like getting struck by lightning. These idiots cannot make the connection between their financially untenable demands and the company failing. Amazing and sad.

This has got to be from the Onion. The NLRB demands a sign be put up that Hostess wasn´t negotiating in good faith when the Union has put them out of business for not negotiating! And if true you know the Hostess guy that said they will post the sign is laughing his behind off. This story is dripping in more irony than an O Henry tale. This has got to be the funniest and most ridiculous thing a goobernment agency has ever done!

Reply 9 - Posted by: Evocatus, 12/7/2012 2:38:12 PM     (No. 9054007)

If I remember correctly, the NLRB is the same communist bunch that had at least two members illegally "recess appointed" by the Obammunist when the Senate was still in session. It´s going to the U.S. Supreme Court to void their appointments and void every act they made while they were illegally serving on the NLRB board.

Additionally, the NLRB was below quorum while the two members were no on it, so they should have been shut down completely until they were up to strength. Just another illegal and sad stupidity foisted on us by the renegade Obama Administration.

I guess law is just for the little people. Until the little people rise up and re-capture the government and the law for their own.

Reply 10 - Posted by: hotrod, 12/7/2012 3:11:00 PM     (No. 9054068)

The NLRB has never been anything more than an extension of union leadership. It´s time has come and gone.

So I guess that its the Bakers Union who screwed up by not listening when the Teamsters told them not to strike, and now they are trying to get out of the soup pot by blaming all their troubles on Hostess. Do I have that correct?

#7 is correct and is that judge mad. The auto industry unions and the WH made a secret deal and didn´t tell the judge about it. Reversal of his decision could put the industry in a far worse senario than before. All hail Obama!

Reply 12 - Posted by: distorted, 12/8/2012 2:03:09 AM     (No. 9054722)

The Lefty equity fund which owned Hostess bought the corp out of bankruptcy with the express view that they could help the workers, and precisely because they were Lefty nitwits, the unions would be cooperative with them. Well, much schadenfreude later, they are Kaputenfreude.

The head of the National Rifle Association mocked President Obama´s Rose Garden "tantrum" after losing the gun control fight in the Senate, charging Thursday that Obama suffered the worst defeat of his presidency because "he bit off more than he could chew." David Keene told Secrets that the president and his team misplayed their hand because they don´t have a sense of the public´s attitude toward gun control. "They just can´t gauge the public reaction to what they do because they don´t have any sense that the public has feelings different than they do," said Keene.

Attorney General Eric Holder expressed frustration and anger Thursday over the Senate´s defeat of gun control legislation this week, but vowed he will continue to fight for measures to prevent gun violence. “Despite my disappointment and, quite frankly, my frustration and anger at the filibuster in the Senate yesterday that led to the failure to adopt some of those changes, despite the fact that a majority voted for them, I and my colleagues throughout the administration remain committed to standing with the families of Newtown,” said Holder in testimony before the House Appropriations Committee on Thursday.

‘You know, I actually believe my own bull****.” That’s what President Obama once told a reporter. If the man ever uttered a statement that spoke more to his approach to politics, I haven’t heard it. Whether it stems from a grandiose overconfidence in his own powers of persuasion, or the lessons he took from his years as a community organizer, or his own messianic conviction that he is on the right side of everything, including history itself, the president has always operated under the theory that he can move the American people to his causes. And he can’t.

Yesterday, the most modest of gun control proposals died in the Senate. It would have expanded background checks to people purchasing weapons at gun shows and online sales, enjoyed 90 per cent support among the public and came on the back of the tragedy at Newtown. Yet, despite all that it had going for it, the Toomey-Manchin bill raised just 54 votes--six short of the number necessary for passage. “This is a pretty shameful day for Washington,” said Obama afterwards. It wasn’t exactly a red letter day for him, either. Why did the no-brainer bill fail? Four reasons:

Authorities on Tuesday revealed little new information about the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon, the most high-profile bombing on U.S. soil in more than a decade and a tragedy that presents a new test for President Obama. Obama, like all Americans, is standing by, waiting for answers as to who planted two bombs improvised from pressure cookers at the finish line of the storied race, and why. Three Americans were killed in Monday´s attack and more than 170 others were injured. "Anytime bombs are used to target innocent civilians, it is an act of terror," Obama said,

While the media are bearing the brunt of public skepticism over the handling of the Boston bombing, the behavior of government is also eroding public trust. Yesterday´s promised but cancelled news briefing is just one symptom. Andrew McCarthy of PJM notes that "Misinformation rather than enlightenment has been the order of the day in the investigation of Monday´s terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon," and that part of it is the natural outgrowth of the desire of investigators to keep the details of their investigations secret, so as not to alert suspects.

Mark Kelly, the astronaut husband of former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, on Thursday upbraided senators who voted against gun legislation by saying they voted “out of fear.” ”If that vote had been a secret ballot, I bet you it would have passed with 80 votes,” Kelly told reporters. He was referencing the compromise authored by Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) to expand background checks for gun buyers. It failed to advance in the Senate, with a vote Wednesday afternoon of 54 to 46.

As we now move into the official Political Aftermath period of the Boston bombing — the period that will determine the long-term legislative fallout of the atrocity — the dynamics of privilege will undoubtedly influence the nation’s collective reaction to the attacks. That’s because privilege tends to determine: 1) which groups are — and are not — collectively denigrated or targeted for the unlawful actions of individuals; and 2) how big and politically game-changing the overall reaction ends up being.

Washington — President Barack Obama says the Senate’s opposition to a bill that would have expanded background checks for gun buyers marks a “shameful day” in Washington. He says a minority of senators decided “it wasn’t worth it” to protect the nation’s children. Obama spoke in the Rose Garden shortly after the Senate vote rejecting a bipartisan effort to expand federal background checks to more firearms buyers. (Snip) The president pinned the blame for the measures failure, though five Democrats also opposed the plan. He also said the gun lobby and its allies “willfully lied” about background check bill.

Misinformation rather than enlightenment has been the order of the day in the investigation of Monday’s terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon. The anxiety stemming from the attack and the stream of inaccurate news about it is further freighted, moreover, by the FBI’s confirmation that two letters addressed to top political officials — President Obama and Senator Richard Wicker (R., MS) — tested positive for ricin, a deadly poison. As noted below, a man identified as Kenneth Curtis of Tupelo, Mississippi, has reportedly been arrested in connection with the mailings. Early this afternoon, massive confusion
