| Islamabad: Secretary Defence and PIA Chairman Asif Yasin Malik has sacked four pilots over their fake degrees, the National Assembly’s special committee was told on Thursday. Captain Fahim and Captain Arshad, who have flown the airplanes of former presidents, are also among the sacked pilots.Asif Yasin Malik told the committee that fake degree holders were still working on high posts in PIA. He said the lack of an accountability system was the main cause behind corruption and mismanagement in PIA. He said after taking charge he sacked four pilots, who had flown airplanes for thousands

PIA = Pakistan International Airlines. This is their national carrier. Article says that pilots flew thousands of hours, but unclear when and where. That they could fly big planes with false degrees should get Homeland Security checking this out.

It does not take a "college degree" to be an outstanding pilot. It takes proper training and the ratings for the aircraft to be flown. Nor does a military pilot need to be an officer (no matter what the Air Force says). I wouldn´t be concerned so much about fake degrees as much whether they had the proper training, ratings and experience required to perform their duties.
Paks seem to worship college degrees and require them for many jobs. It´s created a vast "fake degree" industry. Note that the worship of "college education" is a problem here as well.

North Korea appears to be preparing a fourth underground nuclear weapons test at Punggye-ri, the site of its previous test, a South Korean government source says. "They" would be cicadas, the big, noisy bugs that climb out of the earth about every decade and a half to make everyone´s life more exciting. Experts tell Gannett News Service that the bugs live underground and feed off fluid that gathers near the roots of plants, then emerge from the soil when its temperature reaches 64 degrees. Shanghai & Hong Kong - China said it was mobilizing resources nationwide to combat a new strain of bird flu that has killed six people, as Japan and Hong Kong stepped up vigilance and the United States said it was closely monitoring the situation. All of the 14 reported infections from the H7N9 bird flu strain have been in eastern China and at least four of the six dead are in the financial hub of Shanghai, a city of 20 million people. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
