Can George Zimmerman
prevail against NBC?

Washington Post, by Erik Wemple

Original Article

The just-filed suit by George Zimmerman against NBC Universal and three employees furnishes some flaming legal invective. It claims that NBC News, via its repeated mis-editing of a 911 audiotape, portrayed Zimmerman as a “racist and predatory villain.” The motivation behind such a portrayal, charges the suit, was to gin up “topics” for the network’s “failing news programs.” Tough-sounding stuff. The goods to back up the suit’s central allegations are all out there on video feeds across the Internet. NBC News editing of that 911 audiotape gave viewers the impression that Zimmerman had

Of course it won´t happen but it would finally send a message to liberals that production of lies to further a political cause under the ruse of ´new´ is no longer acceptable if Zimmerman won.

This travesty of injustice must stop.

NBC participated in a hoax against Zimmerman and must be punished.

well, they say the best defense is a good offense.

i would not have preferred martin to get shot, but after all, he was the one who chose to turn the non-violent exchange into a life-threatening assault. even if zimmerman were my worst enemy, i would say he had the right to defend his own life.

Yes indeed, NBC caused more harm to George. Mentioning that he was black did the trick, and George was only answering a question, he did not volunteer that Martin was black. NBC ran with the white guy killing the poor innocent black kid who was shopping for Skittles. Of course, everyone is still showing the old young photos of Martin, not the ones on the social media that shows him with gangster grids on his teeth and talking about getting the skittles and watermelon drink (which is added to cold medicine to make a high). Hope all of this comes out in the trial. Also his school records are rife with misbehavior. I have already given to the Zimmerman fund and will try to do so again. He can not work, can not go anywhere and his wife is in the same boat and had to give up her nursing studies because of the threats against them. Someone has said that we have gone from blacks sitting at the back of the bus to nowadays sitting on a pedestal...they can do no wrong.

So, we´ve heard from the left about revoking the FCC broadcast license to the syndicate that airs the Rush Limbaugh show, for his "hate" speech. Then, why should NBC News keep their license after Food Lion, Chevrolet pick up trucks and now this deliberate fabrication against George Zimmerman? These three cases (the only ones I know about) are not a product of sloppy journalism; they were deliberate fabrications to present as "news" a narrative known to NBC News as false. These would be grounds for revoking their broadcast license.

#16, they slandered Jewell but the case the Feds were building against him collapsed before they could indict him. As it was, the only thing that saved him in the long run was that a deputy in NC caught the real bomber dumpster-diving. Once they had that guy and it was clear the Feds and MSM had been persecuting what they knew to be a innocent man, he started filing suits.

Four years ago, Poland was set to become the staging ground for advanced U.S. ballistic missile interceptors. But after the plan collapsed—and seeing defense budgets in the rest of Europe on the decline—Polish political leaders decided they needed their military to fend for itself. And now with an aggressive Russia bearing down on Ukraine, Warsaw is getting even more worried—and prepared. “The world stands on the brink of conflict, the consequences of which are not foreseen,” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said shortly after Russia’s Feb. 27 invasion of Crimea. Most of all, this means that Poland’s steady military growth—an outlier in Europe—could

The looming wreckage of President Obama’s Mideast peace push could lead to the freedom of a man held captive decades in excess of what justice demands. All the rest looks to be a disaster. Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry are dangling release of Jonathan Pollard, an American sentenced to life in prison in 1987 for spying for Israel, in the hope of pushing the Jewish state to release hundreds of Palestinians convicted of terrorism offenses in the hope of convincing the Palestinians to get with the peace program. MANDEVILLE, La. — The conventional wisdom is that the Senate race between three-term Democrat Mary Landrieu and Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy will be about Obamacare. Will Landrieu´s vote for the president´s national health care scheme -- the decisive vote, as Republicans often point out -- finally end a storied Louisiana political career? There´s no doubt Obamacare will play a big role in the campaign. It´s hugely unpopular here in Louisiana — 33 percent approve, 53 percent disapprove in a recent poll — and Landrieu, as much as any other Democrat, is responsible for it. In recent weeks, we examined the Obama administration’s willingness to reverse positions that it had once proudly proclaimed — on whether an individual mandate is necessary, whether the individual mandate is a tax, whether it is important that you can keep your plan or doctor, whether lobbyists should work in a president’s administration, whether a donor should be appointed U.S. ambassador, and so on.(Snip)The evidence before us suggests progressives’ ideal society would be one where they enjoy great power to regulate the lives of others and impose restrictions and limitations they themselves would never accept in their own lives.

Talk about spiking the ball. Speaking in the White House Rose Garden yesterday afternoon, President Obama declared flatly that the Affordable Care Act, which he proudly referred to as ObamaCare, “is doing what it’s supposed to do; it’s working.” The president had reason to be pleased. According to the White House, 7.1 million Americans signed up, slightly more than the Congressional Budget Office had said was necessary for the law to work as planned. Considering the Web-site disaster and all other problems that we’ve seen so far, this represents a significant accomplishment. New York was one of the best-performing states in the nation.

California State senator (and, until last week, candidate for secretary of state) Leland Yee was well-known as an anti-gun activist. The rhetorical question is often asked: what do conservatives want president Obama to do about the Ukraine? As one commenter put it: “are you suggesting we should mobilize and take off on another foreign adventure to secure Ukraine?” This completely misstates the problem whose roots lie in the understanding of four very common words: could, can’t, won’t and will. One way to respond to the rhetorical question above is to facetiously answer: “no it’s better to wait until Putin reaches the border of Poland or tries to take over Finland.” After all Finland has been mentioned in the press as a

The Obamacare open-enrollment season (supposedly) closed yesterday, so it is good time to step back and assess where things stand with the law and its first-year implementation. Interestingly, Obamacare remains something of a Rorschach test for journalists and health-policy analysts. Looking at the same set of facts, two observers can reach very different conclusions. For instance, Noam Levey of the Los Angeles Times writes that Obamacare “has spurred the largest expansion in health coverage in America in half a century.” Meanwhile, health consultant Howard J.
