| Like many of you, I´ve been through my share of these things -- you know, where some hotshot from corporate flies in, takes over the biggest office in the building, closes the door, and then one-by-one calls in those who will no longer be employed due to downsizing, or whatever the word of the day is. Harrowing stuff. But to do it over the holidays? Cold-blooded. Ouch: The sad moment has arrived when we must go forth with the editorial staff reductions that we discussed in person with all of you several weeks ago.

Fitting, though a strange spelling for this occasion...

I did the same thing, #4. Turns out, ´´Baba´´ Shetty was named Newsweek/Daily Beast´s CEO September 19, 2012.
So, Tina and ´´Baba´´ fire the help and get a pass - again - from being classified as those evil, greedy, capitalists. It must be nice to be a Democrat.

Lefty loudmouths are forever being exposed for who they are: Capitalists (mostly the crony variety) who have gotten their share and more of the wealth while enthusiastically promoting the socialist agenda for everyone else. Instead of sharing their wealth by redistribution, they immediately start firing the underlings. Why isn´t their first thought to take from their own salaries and give it to their employees all for the common good, of course. Share the wealth, baby!

Meanwhile, the staff and excellent reporters at Breitbart.com are alive and well, and -yep- working.
There may be a correlation to the fact that Breitbart.com reports this story while the unfortunate Newsweek folk pack up the Obobblehead dolls and the pictures of their kids, but I doubt the Newsies will grasp it.

Why should this time of the year make the downsizing any worse than any other time? Only wingnuts make a big deal out of Christmas. And I´m sure Newsweek´s staff are all looking forward to the adventures they´ll have living on unemployment checks. The food stamps they get will be awesome as well. Just think - they supported Obama as working folk; now they can support him as members of the 47%!

Meanwhile, Tina has undoubtedly reduced her staff levels to below 50 employees, thus relieving Newsweek from the burdens of Obamacare, which I´m sure she and all her employees supported wholeheartedly.
That being said, I doubt even this will save Newsweek.

A true liberal should have no faith and abhor the festivities associated with Christmas, thus the timing of this announcement should have no affect on them or their families, if they have one. Its just another month, week, and day, nothing special. If anyone complains about the timing they are exposed for the hypocrites they are.

Prime Minister David Cameron expressed sadness at the death of Lady Margaret Thatcher, saying, "We´ve lost a great leader, a great Prime Minister and a great Briton," while her political foes attacked the former prime minister for policies which, they said, "caused great suffering."The Conservative former prime minister, who died Monday of a stroke at the age of 87, ruled Great Britain for 11 years beginning in 1979. The "Iron Lady" imposed her will on a fractious, rundown nation -- breaking unions, triumphing in a far-off war, and selling off state industries at a record pace -

Even as Congress prepares to debate whether to legalize 11 million illegal immigrants and give them a path to citizenship, analysts are cautioning lawmakers to focus on the other part of immigration: assimilating them fully into America. All sides in the debate agree that assimilation is critical, but in a report being released Monday, the Hudson Institute, a conservative-leaning think tank, says the country has failed on that account in recent years. They found that immigrants — even those who earn U.S. citizenship — have far less attachment to their new home than native-born Americans.

President Obama lives at a time when there are two very different and very well-defined political ideologies. On the one hand, the GOP is fighting for spending contraints, limited regulation, and more personal economic choice. President Obama and his party are more determined than any administration in U.S. history to promote and execute the idea that federal government is best suited to both meet the needs of the people and run the economy. The most fascinating aspect of this yin and yang pull of ideologies is not just that they are taking place at this time in history,

WASHINGTON— President Barack Obama supports requiring girls younger than 17 to see a doctor before buying the morning-after pill. But fighting that battle in court comes with its own set of risks. A federal judge in New York on Friday ordered the Food and Drug Administration to lift age restrictions on the sale of emergency contraception, ending the requirement that buyers show proof they’re 17 or older if they want to buy it without a prescription. The ruling accused the Obama administration in no uncertain terms of letting the president’s pending re-election cloud its judgment when it

Projecting madly, the White House on Sunday pushed the notion that Republican intransigence is the reason that Democrats have been unable to pass a budget during President Obama’s tenure. “Right now,” said senior White House advisor Dan Pfeiffer on Fox News Sunday, “the approach of many Republicans, particularly the leadership in the House, is my way or the highway.” This is certainly rich coming from an administration that has failed to garner a single “yes” vote on its budget proposals for the past several years, even from members of its own party. No doubt there are parents who have frank, frequent, open and easy discussions with their teens about sex. I’ve never met any. I do know parents, however, who were stunned to find their 15-year-old’s birth control pills in her pocketbook. Or who came home early to discover junior and a girl they’d never met frantically buttoning up. Or who found out — when their children were grown — what really went on when Meghan said she was sleeping over at Ashley’s. Such sobering tales of teens snookering mom and dad caused mixed emotions in me — a solidly pro-choice

Finally, she was able to leave the painful past behind. Powell endured the explosive battle over desegregation in Boston in the 1970s. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school. That they were just torturing him.” Source and text corrected by Staff.
