I apologize to America´s young people, whose dashed dreams and dim employment prospects I had laughed at, believing these to be a direct result of their voting for Obama. On closer examination, it turns out that young voters, aged 18-29, overwhelmingly supported Romney. But only the white ones. (snip) What the youth vote shows is not that young people are nitwits who deserve lives of misery and joblessness, as I had previously believed, but that America is hitting the tipping point on our immigration policy.
Our political system used to have dimocrats and republicans. both were comprised of Americans but with different ways of doing things. It seems to me that we now have the American Party and the Un-American Party. The Un-Americans are here in America to get what they can, even if they get behind a government which will use the threat of force to steal it from the Americans.
Unfortunately, too many people who should be in the American party have been indoctrinated against Americans and they side with the Un-Americans. That better change soon.
White flight has been going on for decades. The suburbs are pretty nice, as a result. Section 8 housing has served to redistribute the inner city people into the suburbs, on purpose (social justice, ya know). We are now at a point where white flight means finding another country to live in or a remote cabin in the mountains. I am getting my bags packed.
These are sad statistics. There are many folks hoping for a better future and a job, including 20% of under 30 black males, but we are outnumbered. The Asian vote is surprising. The Hispanic vote, not so much. Any group or culture can be lured by easy money. Being the descendant of the prototype Italian immigrants, I know that they worked partly because they had to. If offered a pretty cushy life without having to, would they have? Some would have but a lot wouldn´t have bothered.
109 million people are in the private sector. 87 million (66% on public dole & 21% work for government) are supported by taxpayers. How long before these numbers are even or tipped the other way with all of us boomers retiring?
Ann´s analysis is impeccable. It should be tattooed on the forehead of every Republican politician who foolishly calls for "immigration reform" on the false premise that it will make immigrants more likely to vote Republican. What it will do is finally and permanently seal this country´s fate.
It´s shocking in fact that all the usual geniuses (Rove, Barone, etc.) were so wrong and, now in light of this brilliant forensic analysis, utterly clueless as to the real reason for Romney´s defeat. And the real reason is simply that our open border policy has in fact flooded our voting booths with shameless takers from all corners of the globe. Obama and the Democrats now know this and they are totally arrogant now that they realize they have the votes to steal from us in broad daylight.
We can thank the drunken pervert murder ....err...."Lion" of the Senate ....for this. The un-American "American Royalty"
The "club" of the Senate is beyond corrupt along with most of the rest of the system....the real purpose of which is to make it´s members rich while trashing those who succeed by doing it the old fashioned way: Hard work, brains, and luck. Only those who pay tribute to the corrupt are allowed to go on about their business.
Anyone who tries to disrupt this rotten gravy train club will be thrown out of D.C.....i.e. Sarah Palin. Just think, that nincompoop Patti Murray is still in the Senate, the crazy witch Pelosi is still in the House, but Sarah, an excellent governor who confronted corruption by both parties has been torn to shreds.
Other than venting..not sure why I even post anymore. It´s useless.
Just like Cuba, where people are given $20 a month and the fields lay fallow because no one´s going to worth them when they get paid for doing nothing -- and the buildings in downtown Havana haven´t been painted since "the Revolution" but are occupied by families, since there´s no need for stores.
Bleak sounding. We need controlled borders, we need to take back our schools, and communities need to engage these people in what living in America is all about. We need involvement outside the political movement and become friends with them - and employers.
Back in 1965 when Ted Kennedy changed the immigration laws to favor mostly poor and uneducated third world immigrants and supercharged that immigration policy by highly favoring their foreign relatives under so-called family reunification quotas; and at the same time stopped historic European immigration to the USA, including Irish immigration, he knew that what he was doing would eventually change the political balance in the country towards the liberal Democrats big time.
When that was happening, enough of the Stupid Party, always pushing for more cheap labor, went along with Kennedy to get along with the liberal Democrats, so that Kennedy´s vision of a more diverse America became ingrained in the immigration laws up to this time.
Because of that it is highly doubtful that the Stupid Party will ever again be able to get enough votes in this country to ever again win national elections.
Back in 1965 when all that was happening mass uncontrolled illegal immigration had not yet got up a head of steam, that started after President Lyndon Johnson canceled the long-standing temporary farm labor agreement with Mexico that was commonly known as the "bracero" program, to appease Cesar Chavez and the labor unions. Under the "bracero" program Mexican farm workers were allowed into the USA to do temporary seasonal farm work and returned to Mexico after the end of each growing season. Since then illegal immigration has doubled the number of third world immigrants that Ted Kennedy envisioned back in 1965 who would be allowed into the USA.
An Internet security firm says a limousine software company has been hacked, exposing credit card numbers and potentially embarrassing details about close to 1 million customers, including politicians, star athletes and corporate executives. Alex Holden, chief information security officer of Milwaukee-based Hold Security, says he discovered the breach at Corporatecaronline more than a month ago. He said he informed the owner of the Kirkwood, Mo.-based software company that customers´ credit card numbers, pickup and drop-off information, and other personal details had been stolen. "The privacy implications of this are very disturbing," Holden said Monday. Car services buy software from Corporatecaronline and use it
Pope Francis wants action against modern forms of slavery including forced labour and prostitution, the Vatican said Monday after a meeting of experts called by the pontiff to debate the problem. Dozens of academics, doctors and clerics were hosted by the Vatican to discuss issues close to the pope´s heart, including the struggle against organ trafficking and people smuggling. "Some experts believe human trafficking will overtake drug and arms trafficking in a decade, becoming the most lucrative criminal activity in the world," Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, told reporters. Sorondo said the pope was heavily invested in a
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – ”Christmas came early…” The phrase alone has been used ad nauseam in feel-good news stories. However, with each passing year, it also seemingly encapsulates a source of growing frustration among Americans – the ever-earlier presence of winter holiday decorations in stores throughout the nation. With Halloween gone and the month of November just beginning, many are already seeing signs of Christmas, and even more have been seeing them for weeks. In today’s Internet age, more people than ever are taking to social networking sites and online message boards to condemn the appearance of winter holiday indicators that they feel
Beirut – In the midst of a conflict rife with sectarianism, a giant bronze statue of Jesus has gone up on a Syrian mountain, apparently under cover of a truce among three factions in the country´s civil war. Jesus stands, arms outstretched, on the Cherubim mountain, overlooking a route pilgrims took from Constantinople to Jerusalem in ancient times. The statue is 40 feet tall and stands on a base that brings its height to 105 feet, organizers of the project estimate. That the statue made it to Syria and went up without incident on Oct. 14 is remarkable. The project took eight
Tallahassee, Fla. -- Former Republican governor-turned Democrat Charlie Crist took the first step Friday toward attempting to reclaim his old job with a new party, paving the way for a bitter contest that will be one of the most watched in the nation. Crist filed paperwork to get in the race and is now the front-runner to represent Democrats against Republican Gov. Rick Scott, one of the most unpopular chief executives in the country. Scott, though, will be well-financed and is expected to spend as much as $25 million in attack ads against Crist. For Crist, he is hoping to
A drug-smuggling tunnel equipped with electricity, ventilation and a rail system has been found connecting San Diego, California, and Tijuana, Mexico. Authorities seized more than eight tons of marijuana and 325lb (147kg) of cocaine in the discovery. Officials have not revealed the exact length or location of the recently finished tunnel, but Mexican media report it is near Tijuana´s airport. More than 75 such secret tunnels have been discovered since 2008. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the find on Thursday. ´Just completed´ It was described as "a just completed, highly sophisticated underground passageway", according to an ICE statement. The tunnel is the eighth discovered just
La Vergne, Tenn. - A Tennessee high school is stirring up controversy for a policy that separates students at lunch based on their grades. Specifically, La Vergne High School student who are making poor grades are separated from their classmates and made to eat lunch in a separate location. Paul Morecroft, who has a special needs daughter in the 10th grade, said, "To me, it´s considered separation, because you have your special needs kids and the kids getting the good grades on one side, and the kids getting below an 80 on the other side. " He called the policy a
Washington - A George Washington University Professor is in critical condition after a vicious assault Sunday near Dupont Circle. By the time D.C. police got to S Street and Connecticut Avenue in Northwest D.C. Sunday morning, 39-year-old Jason Chambers was out cold. They say he had been with friends earlier but was walking alone in a silver Halloween costume when he was approached by a man on foot and attacked. "I think it´s horrible. That usually does not happen in this neighborhood right here," Morgan Danchik says of the community he has lived in for ten years. Chambers, a part-time fencing professor at George Washington,
Washington -- Employees from six Homeland Security Department offices have abused an overtime program and cost the government about $8.7 million a year, according an Office of Special Counsel letter and report sent Thursday to the president and Congress. Special Counsel Carolyn Lerner told President Barack Obama and lawmakers that whistle-blowers alerted her office to the abuses. Lerner´s letter and an accompanying report detailed allegations of overtime abuses in Washington. She said her office is investigating five other overtime abuse cases and expects the allegations to be substantiated. The Office of Special Counsel is an independent government investigative and prosecutorial office. According to
Is Ken Cuccinelli closing in on Terry McAuliffe in the Virginia governor´s race? The latest poll from Emerson College shows McAuliffe, the Democrat, with 42 percent support and Cuccinelli, the Republican, with 40 percent. Libertarian Robert Sarvis has 13 percent in the poll of 874 likely voters. The two-point lead for McAuliffe is the smallest he´s had in any poll since September. Emerson´s previous poll, from September, showed McAuliffe with a five-point lead. The Real Clear Politics average of polls still shows McAuliffe ahead by more than six points.
May I ask this question? Why is it that Americans don´t have the freedom to choose their own health insurance? I just don´t get it. Why must the liberal nanny state make decisions for us? We can make them ourselves, thank you very much. It´s like choosing a car, buying a home or investing in a stock. We can handle it. So why must the government tell me and everyone else what we can and cannot buy? Charles Krauthammer and the Wall Street Journal´s Dan Henninger noted in excellent recent columns that this whole Obamacare business represents the greatest-ever expansion of the
Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz blasted the implementation of Obamacare on Thursday, just a month after he voiced his support for the law. The socially-conscious CEO said "what the country needs now is real honesty and transparency and truth about what’s really going on." He said Obamacare´s rollout was "unfortunate" for the American people because there is a lack of trust now in the law and the website. ”Unfortunately, in this kind of situation, execution trumps strategy," Schultz said on CNBC. "It might be a great strategy, but the execution is really flawed. It’s off the rails.”
Society crumbles when it takes cues from the underclass When Snooki, whose talents include getting sloppy drunk and throwing up on camera, made Barbara Walters’ “Ten Most Fascinating People” list a few years back, one could only ask: Was Octomom not available? Last year, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” which features a cornucopia of social ills, was TLC’s highest-rated show, attracting more cable viewers than the Republican National Convention, which had the misfortune to share the time slot with the charmers from Georgia. The show’s matriarch, June Shannon, has four daughters by four men, one of whose names she can’t recall. White Trash
How Americans see President Obama changed in an important way this week. It’s because there is a huge difference between lies and bulls – - t. Obama says a lot of things that are not true, even nonsensical. But it’s easy to shrug off most of these, because they aren’t really lies. They’re just bulls – - t. Bulls – - t is airy, meaningless drivel, the stuff that campaigns are made of. Or it’s a misleading oversimplification with hidden qualifiers. Not only do we forgive bulls – - t, we like it. Especially suckers who have far too high an opinion
President Barack Obama bragged to his aides that he´s ´really good at killing people,´ according to explosive claims in a new book about the 2012 presidential campaign. The revelation comes at a time when Obama, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, has faced increasing criticism for his use of drones to target insurgents and terrorist suspects, particularly in Pakistan and Yemen. The London-based Bureau of Investigative Journalism estimates that Obama has authorized 326 drone strikes. Since 2004, CIA unmanned aerial vehicles have killed 2,500 to 3,600 people--including up to
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who lost the 2012 election to President Barack Obama, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday that he believed New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie could “easily” become the GOP presidential nominee in 2016 and “save our party.” Christie most recently made national news when he decided to drop a legal challenge to rulings in New Jersey state courts that declared same-sex marriage legal there. And not long before that, he changed his position on the question of whether illegal aliens should get in-state tuition rates at New Jersey state colleges. Now he backs legislation that
Mitt Romney said Sunday that Barack Obama lied about whether Americans could keep their health insurance under the Affordable Care Act — a “fundamental dishonesty” that is “rotting” the president’s second term. “When he told the American people that you could keep your health insurance if you wanted to keep that plan, period — he said that time and again — he wasn’t telling the truth,” the 2012 Republican presidential nominee said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “That fundamental dishonesty has really put in peril the foundation of his second term.” Mr. Romney has maintained a relatively low
The National Republican Senate Committee, the GOP campaign arm responsible for Senate elections, has decided to use its political power to block consulting firm Jamestown Associates from receiving political work from GOP candidates or incumbents. Jamestown´s "sin" is working with the Senate Conservative Fund, an organization that supports conservative candidates for the US Senate. NRSC communications staffer Brad Dayspring, a former spokesman for House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), told The New York Times on Friday, “We’re not going to do
Congressional Republicans have stoked consumer fears and confusion with charges that the health care reform law is causing insurers to cancel existing policies and will force many people to pay substantially higher premiums next year for coverage they don’t want. That, they say, violates President Obama’s pledge that if you like the insurance you have, you can keep it. Mr. Obama clearly misspoke when he said that. By law, insurers cannot continue to sell policies that don’t provide the minimum benefits and consumer protections required as of next year. So they’ve sent cancellation notices to
WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney isn´t including tea party favorite Ted Cruz among the Republicans´ most electable potential presidential candidates in 2016. Who does the 2012 GOP nominee put on his list of "very capable people?" His ex-running mate, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. But Romney says New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie "stands out as one of the very strongest lights." Romney was asked on NBC´s "Meet the Press" whether Texas Sen. Cruz is a "potential light." Romney said he´s not going to disqualify anybody.
This will not go over well for the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner. According to the new book “Double Down,” in which journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann chronicle the 2012 presidential election, President Barack Obama told his aides that he’s “really good at killing people” while discussing drone strikes. Peter Hamby of The Washington Post noted the moment in his review of the book. The reported claim by the commander-in-chief is as indisputable as it is grim. Obama oversaw the 2009 surge in Afghanistan, 145 Predator drone strikes in NATO’s 2011 Libya operations, the May 2011 raid that
Too smart to be President. Is that really Barack Obama´s problem? Mika Brzezinski thinks so. On today´s Morning Joe, as Mike Barnicle and John Heilemann kicked around the notion, as others have before, that President Obama doesn´t much like politics and the people in it, Brzezinski piped up with a different explanation for his aloofness: he´s "too smart for the job," she suggested. View the video after the jump. Heilemann had a quick comeback: "I´m not saying that, although I´m sure that´s your gloss on it." Joe Scarborough suggested that such was Obama´s gloss on it as well. So what
Why does the Tea Party love Ted Cruz despite his decisive role in the recent partial government shutdown, which many consider a debacle for the GOP? Why aren’t Tea Partiers blaming Cruz for their drop in the polls, as mainstream Republicans are busily doing for their own decline in popularity? A CNN-ORC International survey from shortly after the shutdown ended shows that 56 percent of Americans have an unfavorable view of the Tea Party, while “only 28 percent” see it in a favorable light — the Tea Party’s lowest favorability rating since its emergence in the wake of the 2008
More than a decade ago, Kmart was Wal-Mart´s biggest rival. But today the Sears-owned chain is in a tailspin, plagued by negative sales and disinterested customers. Last year, the company closed 100 stores after a disastrous holiday season. Brian Sozzi at Belus Capital Advisors visited several Kmart locations and took photos that illustrate how grim it is at the retailer. "The research and photos presented below show that Kmart, believe it or not, may be in worse fundamental shape than Sears!" Sozzi writes. "By fundamental I mean dreadful to visit, borderline unsafe stores that are sending the division’s financials down
