Obama expected to push
gun control in second term

Washington Examiner, by Brian Hughes

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 12/6/2012 7:39:05 PM

With President Obama´s final election behind him, gun-control advocates said they expect the White House to begin pushing through an assortment of gun restrictions in coming months. Obama rarely talked about guns during his re-election campaign, and when he did, it was mostly to reassure voters he had no plans to take away their constitutionally protected firearms. The president has been preoccupied with negotiations over a deficit-reduction deal since last month´s election, but activists said they expect Obama to become a much more vocal proponent of gun control in 2013.

Comments:
It´s going to be a wild ride for the next four years. So we have cap and trade, immigration and gun control all being brought up. What he doesn´t get done legislatively (if he even tries) he will work around Congress through his various Marxist agencies and accomplish by Executive Order. It´s going to be extremely difficult to get through.

The government has full records of guns purchased AND ammunition. Based on those records we will be effectively disarmed without a shot being fired. It will begin with a retroactive BIG tax on all weapons and ammunition purchased in the past 4 years. Ignore it and lose your tax refund. Or deductions. Or...

#9. Most use credit cards. And buying guns requires name and address et. al.--cash or credit, no? These records are on file by law. My point is that gun owners won´t be manning barricades anytime soon. With the IRS and its tax codes, gun owners will be TAXED into submission. You got a Ruger .357 magnum? You are taxed $2,000 EACH YEAR that you don´t turn it in. Refuse to pay? Bye bye any refund or tax credits or.... Etc. No blood. No fuss. IF 51% want this, it´ll happen.
Deer hunters? THEY (and their ammunition) might get a pass. For now.

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. The wrong name, he warned, could doom a good bill. “If there´s not a
