Blind Sheik Would Be Proud
Of Egypt´s New Constitution

Investor´s Business Daily, by Staff

Islamofascism: Still intoxicated by their "Arab Spring" fairy tale, the media don´t see a problem with the Muslim Brotherhood´s proposed new constitution for Egypt. Apparently they haven´t read the fine print. ´A quick glimpse at the articles show ... there´s wording that prohibits arbitrary arrest and detention and ensures due process, a sensitive topic in Egypt," CNN reported, approvingly. "Mubarak and his loyalists are blamed for jailing and harshly mistreating innocents" before the uprising. The New York Times also shrugged, noting the Muslim Brotherhood drafters simply preserved the language of the old constitution.

The Blind Sheik would be packing his bags right now to leave jail if Obama had lost the election. I think Obama would have pardoned him.

As the Senate debated the merits of an assault-weapons ban, an emotional Dianne Feinstein urged her colleagues to “show some guts” and vote in favor of the measure. “I am really chagrined and concerned. If anybody cares, vote at least to prospectively ban the manufacture, the sale, the importation of military-style assault weapons,” she said in remarks on the Senate floor. Feinstein is the author of the assault-weapons ban, which was defeated earlier today by a margin of 60 to 40.

New evidence photographs released on Wednesday from the Boston Marathon bombing reveal in grisly detail the bloody aftermath of the massive blasts which left three dead and nearly 200 injured. In one, close-up image a nail appears to be shown in congealed blood next to part of a zipper from a bag and two ball bearings. In other images of the remains of an explosive device, twisted pieces of metal and dented batteries are shown. The photos released today were taken by the Joint Terrorism Task Force scouring the vast scene in downtown Boston and issued by a U.S. government

The FBI said there has been ´substantial progress´ in the Boston bombing investigation after they analyzed surveillance footage shot from a nearby department store which showed a man planting the second bomb. Investigators said the individual is seen at the site of the second explosion wearing a black jacket, a grey hooded sweatshirt and a white or off-color-white baseball cap backwards placing a back-pack on the ground while talking on his cellphone. The video obtained by the FBI captures this man using his cellphone at the moment the first explosion detonated 100 yards away on Boylston Street on Monday a

Shereef Elnahal is a native of Virginia, a graduate of Harvard Medical School and a first-year internal medicine resident who helped triage explosion victims with ruptured eardrums and major limb injuries on Monday at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. “Most of the traumas were triaged quickly, thankfully, so from a medical standpoint the hysteria didn’t last terribly long,” Elnahal said Wednesday after his night shift. He is shocked and saddened by the tragedy. And like many Muslims, he is also hoping hard that whoever terrorized the Boston Marathon does not share his faith.

Clinging to Guns—and Abortion

Atop the quotable Barack Obama there will be this: "And it´s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren´t like them." Everyone clings to something. But when it comes to criticizing unseemly political dependencies, it´s almost always liberals accusing them of clinging to positions and ideas that an enlightened society would have abandoned. But what do liberals cling to? Recent events have revealed two things. Gun control and abortion. The gun-control cling we know about because rarely a day passes without a news story about the Senate´s gun-control legislation

Gosnell Murder Trial Shows

The trial of notorious Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell — as close to a demonic presence as anything this country will ever see — was almost a month old when the network blackout finally ended. CNN broke its silence, as did CBS. National newspapers sent reporters to the trial for the first time. They started covering it only because of a national outrage that they would so deliberately withhold this horror story from the public — for political reasons. Kirsten Powers in USA Today insisted: "This should be front page news. When Rush Limbaugh attacked Sandra Fluke, there was non-stop media hysteria ...

What a time for our secretary of state´s head to be in the wrong place. The new secretary of state, the losing presidential candidate against George W. Second Amendment: Gun ownership restrictions that the president said were supported by 90% of the nation have died in a Senate controlled by his party. Exploiting Newtown is haunting the power grabbers. Just last week it was a political no-brainer. "Ninety percent of Americans support universal background checks," President Obama asserted yet again. This time he was at the University of Hartford, less than an hour´s drive from Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Ct., where 20 students and six staff members were slaughtered just before Christmas. With Obama were many of the Newtown victims´ parents.

Protocol: President Obama declined to send a high-level delegation to Wednesday´s funeral of Britain´s Margaret Thatcher. It´s a measure of how little he values the special relationship — and a sign of his own smallness. Back in more gracious times, vice presidents routinely attended funerals of foreign dignitaries. As such, the presence of Vice President Joe Biden — if not Obama himself — would seem fitting for as significant a U.S. ally as the late Prime Minister Thatcher, if not out of warmth of feeling, then simply to represent the U.S.´ gratitude. BOSTON -- The bombs that blew up seconds apart at the finish line of one of the world´s most storied races left the streets spattered with blood and glass, three dead, including an 8-year-old boy, more than 140 wounded and gaping questions of who chose to attack at the Boston Marathon and why. Authorities on Tuesday revealed little new information about the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon, the most high-profile bombing on U.S. soil in more than a decade and a tragedy that presents a new test for President Obama. Obama, like all Americans, is standing by, waiting for answers as to who planted two bombs improvised from pressure cookers at the finish line of the storied race, and why. Three Americans were killed in Monday´s attack and more than 170 others were injured. "Anytime bombs are used to target innocent civilians, it is an act of terror," Obama said,

The Senate delivered a devastating blow to President Obama’s agenda to regulate guns Wednesday by defeating a bipartisan proposal to expand background checks. It failed by a vote of 54 to 46, with 5 Democrats voting against it. Only 4 Republicans supported it. Democratic Sens. Mark Pryor (Ark.), Max Baucus (Mont.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Mark Begich (Alaska) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) voted against it. Reid supported the measure but voted against it to preserve his ability to bring the measure up again. GOP Sens. John McCain (Ariz.), Susan Collins (Maine), Pat Toomey (Pa.) and Mark Kirk

Bush’s response to the attacks of September 11, 2001, was not. She accused Bush of being unavailable to the American people for the “first couple weeks” after the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Reid told Wagner that the president’s statement actively combatted the intention of the terrorists, which is to make their targets feel “discombobulated.” “Having, sort of

As we now move into the official Political Aftermath period of the Boston bombing — the period that will determine the long-term legislative fallout of the atrocity — the dynamics of privilege will undoubtedly influence the nation’s collective reaction to the attacks. That’s because privilege tends to determine: 1) which groups are — and are not — collectively denigrated or targeted for the unlawful actions of individuals; and 2) how big and politically game-changing the overall reaction ends up being.

Washington — President Barack Obama says the Senate’s opposition to a bill that would have expanded background checks for gun buyers marks a “shameful day” in Washington. He says a minority of senators decided “it wasn’t worth it” to protect the nation’s children. Obama spoke in the Rose Garden shortly after the Senate vote rejecting a bipartisan effort to expand federal background checks to more firearms buyers. (Snip) The president pinned the blame for the measures failure, though five Democrats also opposed the plan. He also said the gun lobby and its allies “willfully lied” about background check bill.

Mark Kelly, the husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), is threatening to back an election challenge against Sen. Flake, who is not up for reelection until 2018, has been close to Kelly and Giffords. But Kelly said the issue of control trumped their ties.

National Republicans are pulling the plug on Mark Sanford’s suddenly besieged congressional campaign, POLITICO has learned — a potentially fatal blow to the former South Carolina governor’s dramatic comeback bid. Blindsided by news that Sanford’s ex-wife has accused him of trespassing and concluding he has no plausible path to victory, the National Republican Congressional Committee has decided not to spend more money on Sanford’s behalf ahead of the May 7 special election. “Mark Sanford has proven he knows what it takes to win elections. At this time, the NRCC will not be engaged in this special election,”
