| George Zimmerman´s lawyers say prosecutors are deliberately dragging their feet, and accused the Duval County State Attorney of delaying - and even hiding - evidence that suggests their client is innocent. It took months and the judge´s intervention for lawyers to get a vivid color copy of Zimmerman´s bloody injuries. The defense didn´t find out about witnesses who had helpful information until recently, and attorneys learned of a police officer´s full role in the case by word of mouth. Papers filed in Seminole County Court in Sanford accuse prosecutors of withholding exculpatory information by delaying reports and a key audio tape.

In Miami, civic leaders appear increasingly worried that Zimmerman could be acquitted or have the charges against him dismissed on self-defense grounds. The Community Relations Board on Tuesday announced plans to create a youth advisory board and hold a young people´s summit to address how the community should react if Zimmerman is found not guilty.
When Sanford police did not arrest Zimmerman for weeks after Martin´s death last spring, students at 31 South Florida high schools walked out.
"I think there´s concern he could be acquitted, surely," said Community Relations Board Director Amy Carswell. "There are people who would be angry about it. So far they have shown a response that was nonviolent and positive, and we want to keep it that way."

I´m not a lawyer, but doesn´t concealment of exculpatory evidence provide the judge with a legal justification for dismissing the case, or for requesting sanctions against the prosecutors for misconduct, or both?

Of course they are stalling. When you have no case, you stall, stall, stall, to get some sort of release from liability and a settlement. He deserves every dollar he will eventually get from this false arrest and prosecution.
As I have said before: Now that the election is over, the charges will be somewhat quietly dropped, but looks like a release/settlement may be required at some stage.

Zimmerman should be glad for the delay because it gives his lawyers time to pry evidence out of the prosecution. I was worried that they would fall for the manslaughter charge and take a deal. They avoided that trap. Now I think he will be aquitted.
The police did not want to charge him. They knew it was self defense and they certainly knew he had been beaten up. The lady prosecutor and the media raised a public outcry. I think they are going to be sorry they pulled this stunt.

BOSTON — Two explosions shattered the euphoria of the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday, sending authorities out on the course to carry off the injured while the stragglers in the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton were rerouted away from the smoking site of the blasts. Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

Since he first became a presidential candidate, President Obama must have spent millions of dollars in legal expenses to combat dozens of so-called "birther" challenges seeking the original documents pertaining to his birth. As president, he famously issued an electronic document on the White House website in 2011; the document purported to be his long-form birth certificate, though it is apparently a forgery. The Saudi Arabian man who is reportedly in police custody following the Boston Marathon bombing was chased and tackled by bystanders shortly after the blast, according to CBS.
