| With not an arresting officer in sight crowds of smiling people lit joints under Seattle’s Space Needle on early Thursday morning celebrating marijuana now legal under Washington state law. Hundreds gathered at Seattle Center for a New Year´s Eve-style countdown to 12am, when the legalization measure passed by voters last month took effect. When the clock struck, they cheered and sparked up in unison. A few dozen people gathered on a sidewalk outside the north Seattle headquarters of the annual Hempfest celebration and did the same, offering joints to reporters and blowing smoke into television news cameras.

And how many potters will be found lying on the ground too stoned to move on home or just dead? Son tells of picking his way through A Danish city back when drugs were first legal stepping around and over bodies living and dead looking for AWOL American soldiers. If the bodies hadn´t moved by late afternoon they were scooped up and tossed into carts like garbage to huwl off

There is a time and a place for everything. That was their time. Maybe not the place. To shove it in our faces is just like the liberals. This United States is fast becoming unrecognizable to me. I would probably go along with a well regulated legal pot market nationwide, where they sell limited amounts and TAX it heavily. This, in my mind, could help with crime rates, over-populated prisons, and perhaps ease up on the drug cartel violence. That´s the libertarian in me. But this thing they did in WA and elsewhere seems like just releasing the horse´s reigns with no intent to control it. Could be wrong.

There are many angles to the cannabis legalization question, some of which merit serious thought. At the same time, the incredible importance and apparent regular use of this drug to what is clearly a large number of Americans, is unsettling. How many potheads, as opposed to occasional users are there? One cannot help wondering what accounts for the fervor of some users to make the drug more available. It is difficult to deny, of course, that legal prohibition of cannabis has proved to be an expensive and futile endeavor, serving principally to enrich suppliers and drug dealers. But that is only because of the enormous demand. Is America becoming a nation of potheads? Marijuana consumption and advocacy and Leftism seem to have some kind of innate natural connection. Perhaps weed is now the opiate of the masses, soothing and calming and mellowing them out to prepare them for the serfdom that awaits those who succumb to the Sirens´ song of collectivism. And it seems likely that smoking pot makes belief in Leftist fantasy ideology easier for some. I don´t know the answer to the legalization question, for there are arguments pro and con. It is the huge demand for this mind altering substance that concerns me.

Now the test begins.
Other countries that have legalized pot report their experiences as:
• Use and sales of illegal drugs went up • Cost of police enforcement went up • Rehabilitation costs went up • Drug usage deaths went up • Violent crime went up
For example, see reports to the Swiss parliament, which has reversed itself now.

Leading to all this was Eric Holder giving a free pass to all "medical pot" users and low level traffickers four years ago by the phony claim of only focusing limited federal resources on big dealers. That garantee of no federal prosecution of such use and trafficking has resulted in the explosion of pot shops in "medical marijuala" states. Also resulting in teen drug use soaring along with drug market profits much of which went to re-elect Obama.
Look for DOJ and DEA to continue that ruse for granting another free pass to exempt users and minor traffickers from obeying federal laws against pot use and trafficking in Washington State. Also look for Obama and Congress going deaf, dumb and blind to this quickly developing American horror story.

One of the more bizarre memes propagated by the proabort left about the trial of Kermit Gosnell, who "faces 43 criminal counts, including eight counts of murder in the death of one patient, Karnamaya Monger, and seven newborn infants," is that Fox News has been almost as negligent in covering the story and the trial as the Big Three broadcast networks, and that conservative media in general have also mostly ignored the story. Through Monday evening, April 8, the Media Research Center´s Matt Philbin noted that Gosnell´s trial "has received exactly zero seconds of airtime on the broadcast networks."

The relative, speaking to the Daily News, claimed that mass murderer Lanza was taunted and attacked by fellow students at his childhood alma mater. “Nancy felt fiercely protective of him,” the relative said. “She was convinced the school wasn’t doing enough to protect Adam. It made her irate.” Nancy Lanza — gunned down by her 20-year-son to start his Dec. 14 rampage — even tagged along with Adam to school

JEFFERSON CITY — Republican lawmakers´ concerns about new driver´s license procedures are being exacerbated by the state´s unique system for marking concealed weapons endorsements. Missouri appears to be the only state whose license bureaus also issue concealed weapons endorsements in conjunction with driver´s licenses. In Missouri the endorsements are doled out by the sheriff´s office but the permits are printed by the Department of Revenue. Permit holders can choose whether they want to have the endorsement printed on their driver´s license or on a separate non-driving identification card. Of the roughly 178,000 concealed weapon permit holders, 174,450 Missourians choose

Some of Manhattan’s wealthiest neighborhoods are exploding in a wave of violent crime that hearkens back to the bad old days when people feared going out at night, according to NYPD data obtained by The Post. Chelsea, Gramercy Park, TriBeCa, SoHo and Midtown South all posted a frightening rise in rapes in the first three months of 2013 compared with the same period in 2012. Felony assaults in the usually peaceful West Village nearly tripled, the new crime statistics show. Greenwich Village’s 6th Precinct tied the Rockaways’ grimy 100th Precinct for the city’s biggest year-to-date overall

A career criminal who stole a truck containing President Obama´s audio equipment was sentenced Thursday to seven years in federal prison. Sentencing guidelines called for a term of about three years, but Eric Brown of Richmond, Va., agreed to the longer sentence to avoid prosecution for 14 similar truck thefts in three localities. However, he could still face charges in Stafford County, which did not join Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico counties in the agreement. President Barack Obama’s advocacy organization Organizing for Action (OFA) raised over $4.8 million from first-quarter donors, including the chairman of a major lobbying firm, wealthy progressives affiliated with the secretive Democracy Alliance, and a member of popular 1990s hip-hop group the Fugees, according to a list of first quarter contributors released by the group today. OFA has agreed to disclose limited information about its $250-and-up donors on a quarterly basis. The group, which evolved out of President Barack Obama’s campaign arm, had previously been criticized for evading mandatory donor disclosure by registering as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit group.

MOSCOW – Russia slapped sanctions on a pair of former top Bush administration officials, two former commanders of the Guantanamo detention center, and 14 other Americans in retaliation for a set of human rights sanctions the Obama administration imposed on a number of Russian citizens on Friday. In a statement, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said it was forced to respond to the American “blackmail,” which it warned would harm US-Russia relations. The Kremlin had prepared a list of over 100 American officials in advance of Friday’s announcement, warning its response would be proportionate to the Obama administration’s actions.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

In Philadelphia, at a human abattoir on Lancaster Avenue, is where it ends, not where it starts. It starts with the perversion of language. It starts when the icons of a dissipated culture reduce a baby to a “fetus.” From there, Yeats’s blood-dimmed tide rolls rapidly in. Before long, a baby is not a person but a punishment, as President Barack Obama framed the matter in his familiar off-the-cuff iciness. Of course, to describe newborn children in their boundless possibilities and wonder would be to acknowledge, foremost, their humanity. That is why, instead, abortion enthusiasts must grope for words

The law, said Rockefeller, is “so complicated and if it isn’t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse.” Rockefeller’s consternation echoes comments made earlier this

And Gosnell, 72, is on trial in the deaths of a patient and seven babies allegedly born alive. In testimony at the capital murder trial this past month, an unlicensed doctor and untrained aides described long, chaotic days at the clinic. With President Obama, there’s always a catch. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch. The president’s price for adopting this gentle reform was hundreds of billions in new tax increases.

Few Americans can not answer this question: who is the worst domestic mass murderer in United States’ history? Due to the United States media, most are aware that Timothy McVeigh slaughtered 168 people with a bomb in 1995. Most Americans also know the names of our three most monstrous serial killers: “The Green River Killer” Gary Ridgeway, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy. The U.S. media is again responsible for the general awareness of these men; these stories deserved — and received — national attention due to our common interest in personal safety, the rule of law

Here is something I don’t understand: liberals are often revealed as vile, vulgar hatemongers–not all of them, of course, but far too many–yet they never seem to pay a penalty at the polls. Why is that? Margaret Thatcher’s death has been the latest occasion for the Left to show its true stripes. All across the U.K., there have been demonstrations–vulgar at best, and violent at worst. In Bristol, lefties celebrating a Thatcher “death street party” started fires, destroyed property and battled police: This evening in Trafalgar Square, liberals have turned out for a long-planned celebration of Thatcher’s death:

A few hours after Margaret Thatcher´s death on Monday, the snarling deadbeats of the British underclass were gleefully rampaging through the streets of Brixton in South London, scaling the marquee of the local fleapit and hanging a banner announcing, "THE B@&$! IS DEAD." Amazingly, they managed to spell all four words correctly. By Friday, "Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead," from "The Wizard of Oz," was the No. 1 download at Amazon UK. Mrs. Thatcher would have enjoyed all this. Her former speechwriter John O´Sullivan recalls how, some years after leaving office, she
