| ObamaCare is being implemented, having been upheld as constitutional by the Supreme Court in June in a series of cases now known as National Federation of Independent Business v. HHS. It is becoming increasingly clear, however, that the court took a law that was flawed but potentially workable and transformed it into one that is almost certainly unworkable. More important, the justices also may have created new and fatal constitutional problems.

These guys briefly touch on the thing that has bothered me all along and that is, equal protection under the law. How can a law specifically exempt a group from being held accountable by it? Namely those who wrote the law. What kind of a supreme court do we have that would allow a law to stand that says that politicians (and supreme court justices) be exempt from a law of the land? Corruption of the highest order!

It is tantalizing to think that Roberts has been, and is, a Conservative after all and may have set the table for Obamacare to be held unconstitutional through this type of challenge.
Then again, I can easily see him coming up with more convoluted reasons for ruling against anything that threatens Obamacare.

OP--"the long game." Exactly! By calling Obamacare a tax, Chief Justice Roberts opened the door for someone to challenge it based upon the Uniformity Clause (all taxes must be uniform within the US).
Yet another reason to give the dems fits! And they asked for it!

A more aggressive President Obama followed up last night's debate today by saying that viewers did not see "the real' Mitt Romney. The Romney at Wednesday's debate refused to own up to the impact of his proposed tax cuts for the wealthy, education cuts, and past sympathy for outsourcing, Obama told some 12,000 backers at a park in Denver.

The withdrawal came less than a week after medical school Dean Paul B. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Winters, the cherub-faced comedian whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died. He was 87. The Ohio native died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime family friend. Petro said Winters died of natural causes and was surrounded by family and friends. Winters was a pioneer of improvisational standup comedy, with an exceptional gift for mimicry, a grab bag of eccentric personalities and a bottomless reservoir of creative energy.

I’ve been writing about media coverage of abortion for many years. And so have many others. If you haven’t read David Shaw’s “Abortion Bias Seeps Into The News,” published in the Los Angeles Times back in 1990, you should.
