Fiscal cliff negotiations
the opportunity of a generation
to stop further tax hikes

American Thinker, by Lee DeCovnick

The GOP negotiates like clueless little girls. These one-dimensional thinkers don´t realize that the "fiscal cliff" is the opportunity of a generation to stop further middle class tax increases. The Democrats have bet the house on a modest tax increase for those making over $250,000. Ok then, it´s clearly time for the GOP to raise the stakes.

Comments:
Very interesting idea !

Interesting delusion. If EVEN ONE of those things he lists at the end are attached to the bill for "modest tax increase for those making over $250,000" it will be Dead On Arrival. Obama will NEVER agree to any meaningful tax reform, unless it puts more of the People´s money in his greedy hands to pass out to his peeps.

Whoa! Never thought of that. While we´re at it throw in school vouchers. THAT is the only way we will break teachers teaching our kids socialist ideas. The NEA and their ilk influence teachers, school boards, and government departments of education to subvert the Constitution by teaching progressivism to our kids.

Unless it´s in the constitution any future congress can delete it and raise any taxes they wish.

The Obama Administration has actively pursued a Progressive crusade to shred the Constitution, disarm the general public, destroy the middle class though excessive taxation and deliberate over regulation, enroll and encourage millions of American to become life long government dependents, shutter NASA, destroy the world´s finest healthcare delivery system, and muzzle political dissent though the misuse of federal agencies.

As North Korea has demonstrated, an impoverished, an impoverished, starving population is no obstacle to a determined leader desiring nuclear weapons. So now, Mohamed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood President of Egypt, is committing billions of dollars to re-starting the country´s nuclear program, a reactor that could pave the way for nuclear weapons.

This weekend, The New York Times published an op-ed piece on the failing American economy by David Stockman, Ronald Reagan´s budget director from 1981 to 1985. Please print it out, post the important paragraphs on your refrigerator door, and email the piece to all you friends and family. Stockman´s somber, funeral op-ed lays out his belief that the American economy has already driven off the cliff, that we´re now in a slow freefall, just a few crises away from slamming into the ground.

"Obama Plans Broad Gun Control" screamed the Drudge Report headline. So what actions can a responsible gun owner take to stop this legislative insanity? There are, of course, the accepted channels of communications: email and phone calls to your two Senators and the Representative from your Congressional district. Having once worked as an idealistic political intern in a legislative office, I was flabbergasted at the utter contempt that the staff and "my" legislator held for the ordinary voters of the district. Respect was only paid to the large financial donors and their minions.

B.H. Obama has issued 139 executive orders since becoming president. Some are fairly benign; many are deeply troubling, specifically as to the wholesale consolidation of emergency powers into the office of the presidency. The newest executive order is a breathtaking assault on entire sections of Constitution and the rights, freedoms, and liberties of all Americans, carefully hidden within the stultifying and banal language of bureaucratic doublespeak.

In the midst of questions about the Justice Department’s failure to divulge documents about the Holy Land Foundation terror funding trial, Gohmert made a side comment about how the House of Representatives found Holder in contempt in 2012 for refusing to turn over documents related to the Fast and Furious gun-running scandal. “I realize that contempt is not a big deal to our attorney general, but it is important that we have proper oversight,” Gohmert said. “You don’t want to go there, buddy! A few weeks ago, the liberal comedian Bill Maher and conservative strategist and pundit Bill Kristol had a brief spat on Maher’s HBO show, putatively over what instigated the tea party but ultimately over the psychic wound that has divided red America and blue America in the Obama years. The rise of the tea party, explained Maher in a let’s-get-real moment, closing his eyes for a second the way one does when saying something everybody knows but nobody wants to say, “was about a black president.” Both Maher and Kristol carry themselves with a weary cynicism that allows them to

A caveat right off the bat: RAND’s estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers. On the other hand, the White House was claiming six million sign-ups as of March 27. There’s no way to reconcile that with RAND’s data. One of them is wrong. Maybe both, in fact. There’s a big spike in Medicaid, just as everyone expected. There’s a less big but

How does the Republican Party establishment choose its presidential candidate? Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally

As the House prepares for several key votes on former Internal Revenue Service employee Lois G. Lerner and potential legal action, analysts say she and her attorney have mishandled their case by picking and choosing when they want to talk, and to whom they are willing to talk. Ms. Lerner faces a vote in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Thursday that could begin the process of accusing her of contempt of Congress. The Ways and Means Committee announced that it will hold a vote Wednesday on whether to officially accuse Ms. Lerner of breaking the law by

A founding father of the conservative movement who is now a star among Tea Party activists is urging the GOP to choose a governor to duel Washington “insider” Hillary Clinton for the White House, saying that 2016 isn´t the best time for Sen. My first published column was in a local paper opposing the Equal Rights Amendment for the same reasons that Phyllis Schlafly, a conservative lawyer, campaigned on. As ambiguously written, the ERA, would eliminate the men-only draft requirement, repeal protective laws like sexual assault and eliminate the tendency for mothers to obtain custody over their children in divorce cases. Ironically, one of the arguments that helped sink the amendment from ratification was the fear that single-sex bathrooms would no longer be permitted. In addition, opponents of the amendment also warned that it would lead to abortion on demand and same-sex marriages.

More than a hundred Republican Party elders gathered this weekend in Texas to celebrate George H.W. Bush’s legacy. But many of the event’s participants had another, much simpler agenda: launching a Jeb Bush presidential campaign. The two-day festivities featured a widely covered speech by Jeb. And on the sidelines, former Bush retainers were frank about their hopes that the eldest son could save a party the family has led on and off since 1988. “We have a responsibility to make sure Jeb runs,” said longtime Bush adviser Andy Card after the speech. “If Jeb Bush does not run, shame on us.” Card added,
