| California officials need to add up the costs of all the state´s clean-energy policies before adopting any more, according to a report issued Monday by a government oversight agency. The state has adopted a series of far-reaching energy reforms - boosting the use of renewable power and reining in greenhouse gases - without considering how each policy affects the others, the Little Hoover Commission argues in the report. The "Little Hoover Commission" has been in place since 1962. That´s fifty years of ineffective results. Time to abolish it and let the politicians have a crack at it. After all, the politicians have always blamed the state of the state on everybody but themselves so let them have a go. Can´t hurt... After all, there´s nowhere to go but up at this point. By the way, Pat Brown was the Governor then in 1962 and ran against Richard Nixon and won for another four years. Now we continue the downward spiral with his infamous democrat son who has been the 34th and now the 39th Governor of California. If there is anyone who has set the overall tone of politics in California, it is democrat Governor Jerry Brown.
Like Chicago and Detroit and the rest of the failed major cities, California has seen the worst of failed initiatives and disastrous environmental green laws and failed socialist programs. (The only good one in all my years in California has been Prop 13.)

Well when you spend all your money chasing false dreams that MAY give you a maximum of 5% of the energy you need and trash the 95% opportunity, what could possibly go wrong?
I´m going to make a recommendation to the Texas Governor and Legislators to cut off all Blue States of any energy. You will have to drill/refine it yourselves. Consider youselves to be CUT OFF!

Drove Hwy 62 through Morongo Valley onto the I-10 last Sunday - all those wind turbines were sitting idle. Occasionally, a few blades would spin a radian or two but nothing more.

New York — Federal mortgage payment relief has been extended up to one year for more than 200,000 homeowners whose houses were damaged by Superstorm Sandy. U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan announced the extension for homeowners with Federal Housing Administration-insured loans on Friday. A previous mortgage payment extension for federally-backed home loans was set to expire on April 30. About 286,000 homeowners with FHA-insured loans were affected by the late October storm, with nearly 96,000 in New York. Donovan said the 12-month extension was meant to help homeowners still struggling to rebuild avoid foreclosure.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.
