| If the recent election taught us anything, it´s that Barack Obama certainly knows how to campaign. While to many of us his speeches were full of seemingly small-bore issues like Sesame Street and contraceptives, these turned out to be perfectly calibrated to appeal to low-information voters. He is continuing this successful approach with the negotiations over the "fiscal cliff." He´s even cut a campaign-style ad making his case for tax hikes. As soon as the Payroll Tax holiday ends, revenue increases 95 billion. When the Rich cuts end, revenue increases 42 billion. When the Middle Class cuts end, 179 billion. Stimulus cuts and all other would bring in 111 billion a year. He really wants to go over the cliff. He´ll hold off for one year on the others if he can establish the power to pick and choose who gets a one year reprieve. Best bet is to go over the cliff and demand some serious cuts with all the new revenue.

In the immediate aftermath of the tragic Newtown murders, Obama and His Media joined forces to exploit the deaths of innocent children for all it was worth -- with a series of laws that would have done absolutely nothing to stop the very crime they were exploiting. This naked political move to leverage the murder of innocents as an excuse to attack the National Rifle Association and gun owners who live predominantly in red states, is about as cynical and craven as it gets. According to Politico, though, all this soul selling is likely to come to nothing.

Co-host Willie Geist: "Three in four Americans today thought our country was better off in the ´80s than it is now. Three in four. ... If a presidential election were held today, according to this survey, 58 percent would vote for Ronald Reagan over President Barack Obama." LONDON- The chimes of Big Ben, one of London´s best-known landmarks, will be silenced during former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher´s funeral, officials say. John Bercow, speaker of the House of Commons, announced the plan Monday, The Guardian reported. He said silencing the clock, formally the Great Clock of Westminster, is a way for Parliament to show its respect. Frank Bank, who as Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford served as the dim-witted foil to "Beaver" Cleaver and brother Wally on the classic TV comedy "Leave It to Beaver," died Saturday. He was 71. Since he first became a presidential candidate, President Obama must have spent millions of dollars in legal expenses to combat dozens of so-called "birther" challenges seeking the original documents pertaining to his birth. As president, he famously issued an electronic document on the White House website in 2011; the document purported to be his long-form birth certificate, though it is apparently a forgery. In light of the explosions that have rocked Boston on Patriots’ Day, during the city’s annual marathon, NBC reporter Luke Russert took to Twitter to speculate that today’s horrific events could possibly be related to the 1993 government siege on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas — an incident often attached to conversations about “right-wing terrorism” and anti-government violence. “I was at Fenway Park w my dad and @mikebarnicle during Waco which was on Patriots Day in 1993.
