I watched ´The Five´ on Fox last night, and Greg Gutfeld made several good points. Greg believes that Bob Costas said what he did just to get media attention. ("Look at ME! Look at ME!)

According to Greg, Costas has body guards who carry guns. Also, all the MSM + Fox corporate buildings have security guards who carry guns.

So, figured Gutfeld... until Costas fires all his body guards who carry guns, and demands that NBC bans ALL guns in its building... then Costas is a wimp (or a word with similar meaning.)

I agree with Greg!

There´s plenty of domestic violence in our country, and Costas has all the answers. Maybe he can offer to chair a government task force on the matter. Not.

What a horrible time to push oneself in the spotlight and get attention for a personal political opinion. The dynamics of mental illness and spousal abuse have nothing to do with guns. Too bad Costas is too much of a pompous jerk to offer his condolences and simply keep his trap shut.

Costas´ blaming guns for football´s little violence, drug and brain concussion problem is a bit like the alcoholic blaming the bartender.

Football may have a problem but football is Costas´ living. He has to cocoon the league and blame anything else other than an out of control player on drugs and booze and who may have spaghetti for brains due to years of taking violent head hits.

Frankly, I am really surprised this has become some kind of huge story. It should have been treated quietly and with dignity. Not blased all over the networks as something about the size of the Benghazi attacks. All the big story does is focus even more unwanted attention on a huge problem the NFL is trying desperately to hide while it desperately tries to fix it.

Costas is in on the scam.

I believe that Costas was trying to deflect attention from the real problems that football has. As with the steroid era which nearly ruined the great game of baseball, Costas and his media colleagues were aware of what was going on. As with Tiger Woods and his philandering, the golf media was well aware of it. They chose not to report on it because that reporting would certainly threaten their access to the sport and it´s stars, ergo their gravy train. Football has a problem, no...many problems, and I don´t think they´re trying to fix it. Why should they, when they have a thousand Costas´ around to ´cover´ their backside.

I am in no way excusing Costas, his comments or anyone who uses the First Amendment to infringe on the Second Amendment but I will say that we should look beyond his silly argument and point out that he is another example of the media bubble where groupthink is passed off as originality and that seeking the approval of peers supersedes common sense, history, and/or the Constitution.

The panicked follow-up statement by NBC/Costas are proof that a) they fear audience reprisals and b) revealing their true agenda got them in trouble.

Costas may live in St. Louis but he is a creature of the NY/LA mindset where they wonder how the rubes in flyover country get their keys in the door at night. For some reason they never stop to puzzle over the lack of gun violence in those areas versus DC, Chicago, Philly, etc. Hmm...could it be that the freedom to bear arms produces a safer society?

Lets be perfectly honest - it´s not the ´gun culture´ that is the problem, it´s the ´gangsta culture´. Evidence A - any weekend night on the south side of Chicago.

If guns were banned, there would be no black-on-black murders is Detroit, Watts, Chicago, DC and hundreds of other communities.

On second thought, let´s ban blacks, and end black-on-black murders.

He is wrong to say "if he didn´t have a gun they;d both be alive."

As a survivor of domestic violence I can state emphatically. if he couldn´t get a gun, he would go to the kitchen and pick up a knife. If he couldn´t find a knife, he would have used his fists, or any heavy object he could put his hands of to beat her, all the while saying, "This is your fault!"

My ex once told me, "You know what all women who get beaten have in common? They just don´t listen."
No culpability there at all.
