Columbia prof calls anti-tax
Republicans ‘seditious’
and ‘treasonous’

Daily Caller, by Eric Owens

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 12/3/2012 1:31:36 PM

A professor of Indo-Tibetan studies at Columbia University in New York City, Robert A. Thurman, is hopping mad that Republicans are refusing to raise taxes. Last Tuesday, he decided to make a video about it. In the conspiracy-minded video, Thurman equates Grover Norquist’s no-tax pledge with the oath of office. He then charges that members of Congress who have promised not to support tax increases have a conflict of interest that prevents them from serving as elected officials. The oath of office that all members of Congress take, Thurman notes, states that officeholders will do their jobs

Comments:
He obviously has gotten the parties confused that are seditious and treasonous. Isn´t it wonderful we have individuals like him in our universities who teach such tolerance. s/o

It never ceases to amaze me that the left has been so sucessful in cultivating such a a dumbed down constituency that would actually advocate for raising their own taxes.
The mind boggles.

He is a liberal academian which means he doesn’t have to function in the real world just in his little bubble of possibilities.
Why would anyone care what a cloistered eunuch with limited skills and intelligence have to say, he teaches only because he does not have the ability to function outside academia. With a degree in Indo-Tibetan the only work he would qualify for in the real world would involve asking if you want fries with your order.

Indo-Tibetan studies??? I guess that prepares someone to be an Occupy Wall-Streeter and sit around complaining that they can´t find a job to pay their $100k student loan for going to Columbia. Why doesn´t he just move to Tibet and live there under Chinese rule, since it´s obviously such a focal point of his life.

The House voted Friday to prevent the IRS from enforcing any aspect of ObamaCare, a bill meant to exact revenge against an agency that Republicans say is incapable of neutral enforcement of the law. Members approved the Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act in a 232-185 vote. Four Democrats supported the bill along with every Republican. The vote capped off several days of work in the House on bills aimed at reining in government regulation and government overreach. House Democrats cast the votes as merely for show, given opposition from the White House and the Senate

We served Republican presidents, but we have a message that transcends political affiliation: the United States must move now on substantive steps to curb climate change, at home and internationally.
