A detached Romney tends wounds in
seclusion after failed White House bid

Washington Post, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:FlyRight, 12/1/2012 5:30:48 PM

San Diego - The man who planned to be president wakes up each morning now without a plan. Mitt Romney looks out the windows of his beach house here in La Jolla, a moneyed and pristine enclave of San Diego, at noisy construction workers fixing up his next-door neighbor’s home, sending regular updates on the renovation. He devours news from 2,600 miles away in Washington about the “fiscal cliff” negotiations, shaking his head and wondering what if. Gone are the minute-by-minute schedules and the swarm of Secret Service agents. There’s no aide to make his peanut butter and honey sandwiches.

The voters made the biggest mistake ever. And many of us are sad.
We had the opportunity to elect an authentic American, who, even those who voted against him, believed he was more capable than the kenyan klown. Instead, we sent in the klown, for a second term.
there is no rational way to explain this.

I´m sure they are both upset.

Imagine knowing that you won the election and that it was stolen from you by a bunch of thugs.

It must be devastating!

Obama never loses.
He never negotiates in good faith.
He lies at will.
He destroys foreign policy.
He slays our ambassadors and lies about it.
He hates Israel and treats Netanyahu like dirt.
He uses the EPA as a goon squad against our industries.
He hijacks our Dept of Energy to push green energy.

Wickedness incarnate.

I am sad that we will not have a chance to restore DIGNITY and HONOR to the White House. America will be dragged through the dirt for another 4 years.
But hey, there´s always an Obamapho for everyone.

After listeing to the lies, the attemps to smear his good name, knowing that voter fraud played a large part of the loss and then hearing your supposed "friends" in your own party slam you after the loss it tends to be a "downer."

BUT...a family of faith that has already fought (and beaten back) breast cancer and MS with grace and dignity will be fine.

What´s he supposed to be doing? He isn´t a member of congress or the governor of a state or any other public position, so why can´t he take a well-deserved break?

I guess someone doesn´t want to talk about Obama´s ridiculously insulting proposal to (not) avoid the fiscal cliff. Or the continued revelations of Susan Rice´s various incidents of incompetence and perfidy. Or his very special expensive vacation. Or ATF agents being demoted and discharged because of Fast and Furious (what´s that?). Or all the other ongoing stories that tell the true story of the worst president in the history of the US.

I´m tired of hearing that Romney didn´t "connect" with people. Tens of thousands of people stood out in the rain and sleet for hours, all over the country, waiting to see him. Obama couldn´t draw flies to honey. So who did a bteer job of connecting?

And if we´ve come to the point where a candidate who conducts himself with dignity and reserve--qualities we used to admire--is unacceptable because he´s dignified and reserved, then we´re lost.

One of the greatest disappointments has to be watching what is happening in D.C., when he genuinely believes he knows what to do to turn things around, that he was "this close" to beginning the work of doing that, and knowing that he can´t do anything about it now.

He has a plan. To be a devoted husband, a great father and grandfather, and the successful businessman he´s always been.

Obama is the one without a plan. I think he made a critical error this week, when he insisted upon having the tax cuts now and spending cuts later. People are tired of his tax and spend ways. I think he could have gotten away with it if he had even pretended that he wanted to rein in spending.

He has had several rounds of stimulus spending with no results. How much longer can he get away with this? I know liberals are stupid and want their safety net, but they are going to be losing their jobs as well. It is easier for liberals when only the nameless "rich guys" are suffering.

Here´s what I´m hoping. The person(s) who falsified the bonus birth certificate presented on the WH website would get a huge case of the guilts and he would come forward and say so and the many ACORN folks behind the scenes who tampered with the early voting ballots (many virtually disappearing)and with the machines in the morning hours of Nov 6 would be found out...and everyone who saw Obama in that gay bathhouse in Chicago in 2007 would fess up. On the subject, the great solace for Romney is that he is a fine man, an honest father and husband and many folks liked him alot. He has nothing to be ashamed of. I believe that he really won. But if we don´t get voter I.D. laws in all the states, there is no reason to have another election. Period.

To Win the next Election the Republican Party needs to do things it simply will not do. First, pull your kids out of public school, and file a lawsuit over property taxes. The public school system is a tax funded army of supporters for the Democrat party. They supply warm bodies, feet on the ground, and indoctrinate children. The public school system is so invasive that it generally enjoys primary employer status in many small communities. Unless, and Until, The GOP makes a direct assault on this government institution, Liberty dies.

I can easily identify with the guy who loaded up the family truckster, put the dog on top, and set out with his wife and kids for a family adventure. It´s easy to identify with families who pay their own way.

I have nothing in common with a guy who blows millions of taxpayer dollars on lavish vacations for himself and his family, and then scolds Americans for not paying their own way.

There had to have been massive voter fraud but there were still alot of dumb people out there too. Why do people keep saying "Marxist" and "communist"? The word is Islamist! The White House has sided with the extreme Muslims in every case. We were told not to call the Fort Hood murderer who shouted "Allah Akbar" a terrorist and then they declared the word terrorist off limits. The Jerkster has been wearing his Allah ring since he was 18. What is so hard to understand about this?

Things might not go as well as Obama would like. After 4 more years, he and Michelle will no longer be seen as the wonder couple that the 47% believe them to be. I predict they will be loathed by even the O cult believers, MSM, Hollywood, gays etc. We are all going to get a taste of just how low he will go. He might have some illegal power for awhile but he will be hated like all arrogant ´rulers´. I mean, who has ever had to live under an egomaniac like say a Stalin, Mao, Hitler after all the promises they initially made and then grown to love them? No one. History doesn´t speak kindly of the ones of this mold..

Just remember that although Richard Nixon lost in 1960, and resurrected himself and became president in 1968 and won re-election in 1972. Anything is possible.

Romney could become a real thorn in Obama´s side, by writing articles and appearing on Fox and even some of the alphabets. He is so much smarter than Zippy, I think he could come across as an authority on fiscal issues. Little by little people would begin to wonder why he isn´t the president because he makes so much sense.

That may be just day-dreaming on my part, but I hope Romney will study what Nixon did after the 1960 loss and what he did to get back into politics. One thing is for certain, he must not use the same advisors who were handed down to him from John McCain. Romney should pay a visit to Sarah Palin, and Ann should go with him. I think they might find they have lots in common.

How can a guy this smart and experienced with campaigns, NOT have someone on staff put together some kind of polling place strategy? Did NO one in that campaign understand the need for oversight in certain counties that have a long history of overt voting fraud? The DNC sure understood what they needed to do and they did just enough to assure no recount. Even if they had to ´eject´ Republican poll watchers from EVERY Philadelphia polling place. I knew there would be fraud there, why didn´t the Republicans?

Ditto to #7 & #38. There was massive voter fraud in the recent presidential election and World Net Daily and Hannity.com have been reporting and talking about voter fraud.

And there now is a lawsuit in Florida challenging Obama´s electoral votes. If 16 other States´ electors refuse to vote, then the election goes to the House of Representatives (president) and Senate (vice president.

RE: The Romneys - I came to really admire and care for these people. I wasn´t a backer until I had to be, but I grew to believe he was a good candidate. They are most certainly good and decent people. God will take care of them, because they trust in Him. I wish them all the best, and wish I could give them a hug.

The Washington Compost has always been and continues to be a big joke. Much like the NYT this "newspaper" isn´t even fit to be in my fireplace. Did this rag print a similar story about Lurch Kerry back in 04. I can´t seem to recall one. I two am sick and tired of the main stream presstitutes saying that Romney was detached. The campaign crowds that I went to didn´t bear that nonsense out in the least. I´ve got news for the dumb liberals stinking up the Compost offices. We do have one of the most detached ingrates to ever funk up the WH in my lifetime. Heck even "BJ" Clinton was more personable than this clown(his problem was below the belt). So you guys can take this article and stick it where the sun don´t shine.

Americans are all the worse for this loss. The ComPost is called that for a reason.

We will now see our demise at the hands of amateurs, only good at destruction. zippy has gotten everything he wanted - destroy our economy, destroy our jobs and destroy our Constitution, national will and spirit. Good and evil cannot stand in the same place.

We need to go underground, keep our Faith and rebuild singly, our own personal lives and then we can win.

I feel so badly for these wonderful people, Mitt, Ann and their family who are such a great asset to our country. They are self-made and I am sure are realistic and well-adjusted people because their values are strong and they love one another.

Mitt Romney won this election and many hearts. God bless them and help us!

Hi folks. Reply 50 cites reason Repubs. gave up the right to question minority votes way back in 1982. Until this action gets resolved, GOP will never win another election. I voted straight Repub. I was called back to hear my vote was kicked back out of the box. I had to turn it over and reinsert it to make it count. My readings of election tells me that approx 16 million votes were illegal. Especially in districts where Zero got more than 100% of the votes. End of story.

Hold on there, cowboy!Texas Monthly magazine sued the New York Times on Friday for poaching its editor. Jake Silverstein, who was hired away from the Emmis Communications title last month to become the new editor of the New York Times Magazine, was under contract at the regional monthly until the Times, “without legal justification or excuse,” caused him to breach that deal, the lawsuit claims. The six-page Texas state court action alleges that Times Executive Editor Jill Abramson started recruiting Silverstein in December 2012 — a full year before then-magazine editor Hugo Lindgren was ousted. New York - President Barack Obama is coming to New York City Friday to address the Rev. Al Sharpton‘s National Action Network. The visit comes days after revelations surfaced that Sharpton worked with the FBI. The topic also came up in a 2011 ’60 Minutes’ interview with Lesley Stahl weeks before the debut of “Politics Nation.”In outtakes posted from that interview, Stahl asked Sharpton if he was an FBI informant. The exchange got testy at times when Stahl continued to question Rev. Al about his “informant” role.Stahl: When you were in your 20s, you were an informant for the FBI.Sharpton: Sharpton: No, well it’s according to

First came the “polar vortex” — now it’s the “pollen vortex.”Forced to lie dormant by the long, brutal winter, trees are now set to start reproducing like crazy — and create a massive amount of pollen that could wallop your sinuses this weekend. Pollen count in the Northeast will soar to “high levels” Saturday and Sunday, when warm temperatures will prompt plants to create the sniffle-inducing substance, reports Pollen.com, which offers allergy “forecasts.” In New York City, where the temps could hit 70 degrees Saturday, allergy symptoms will “become more severe,” the site says. President Obama stood Friday with the Rev. Obama’s appearance represented a presidential seal of approval of Sharpton’s role as a civil rights activist, amid the new revelations about how Sharpton used a wire to record

Two years before the Boston Marathon bombing, the Russian government concealed key information on one of the killers that might have thwarted the attack, a new report charges.Kremlin officials intercepted a phone conversation in which Tamerlan Tsarnaev discussed Islamic jihad with his mother, but they withheld the information from the FBI, according to the U.S. inspector general report that comes as the one-year anniversary of the bombing approaches. Fears that high-speed traders have been rigging the U.S. stock market went mainstream last week thanks to allegations in a book by financial author Michael Lewis, but there may be a more serious threat to investors: the increasing amount of trading that happens outside of exchanges. Some former regulators and academics say so much trading is now happening away from exchanges that publicly quoted prices for stocks on exchanges may no longer properly reflect where the market is. And this problem could cost investors far more money than any shenanigans related to high frequency trading. When the average investor, or even

A triumphant President Barack Obama declared Tuesday his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better´ in a Rose Garden press conference. But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night.

The author of the Twilight of Abundance, David Archibald, sent an email a few days ago, saying “there is a whole new world coming.” Archibald, who’s an Australian, warns in his book that the world is running out of food, energy and security. Where he differs from Malthus, however, is in arguing that the shortages are the consequence of policy, rather than the inherent limitations of the universe. The world is doing everything it can to run in the opposite direction of abundance because we think we have too much. The West dreads warmer weather, even though warmer weather might

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Climate change’s latest casualty appears to be fish — or more specifically, fish brains — as researchers say the carbon dioxide that’s being absorbed into the ocean is causing the scaly creatures to lose their survival instincts. In other words, the fish are losing their minds, The Daily Mail reported. The acid from atmospheric carbon dioxide seeps into sea waters, dissolves and ultimately lowers the pH balance, researchers said. The acidic waters then hamper the fishes’ sensory systems, so they’re not able to distinguish between smells any longer, the scientists went on. When the acid levels get really high, the fish lose their
