Odd...don´t you think? It is constitutional to make a choice to have or not have a baby, funded by the government..but it is not constitutional to select the type of education (fundamental right) your child receives funded through the government.

Stupid. It is NOT unconstitutional at all. Judges think they can say whatever they want even if it is wrong. Stupid. Hey, did you all know that the lefties are now taking over the charter schools?? Yep, they move quick and we just sit on our hands.

Katrina literally washed away the filthy and degrading school system that kids were forced into. The aftermath brought in new charter schools, with excited teachers; involved parents, and hopeful kids who now saw opportunity where none had existed before.

The only way to put a stop to this travesty called public education would be for a significant number of people to refuse to pay their school taxes. The government couldn´t afford to seize all that property or prosecute that many people.

The article isn´t too helpful. The state judge´s ruling sounds weak. Just saying a formula - a procedure - was not intended to calculate funding for some students makes little sense.

Anyway, there will be an appeal and the judge did not enjoin the schooling so nothing should happen immediately.

Plaintiffs will probably move to close the schools now and get nowhere. Meanwhile the appeal will be heard.

As Obama and and his corrupt news media lackeys continue to bamboozle America, one strong issue --- perhaps the strongest --- for Republican´s is school choice.
And I´d bet real money that the unions went carefully judge shopping to find this pro-union Judge Tim Kelley.

For all their ostensible concern about Blacks, women and gays, the Democrats are anti-children... Spending the children´s money on our deficits and refusing to give them a quality education, by deferring to the teacher´s unions.

Now, why would anyone want to pull their children out of our drug-addled, crime-riddled, failing public schools?

Public schools exist for the teachers and the unions, and not their students. To them the children are a nuisance interfering with their right to a comfortable living at the tax payers expense. Their fear is that a voucher system would allow the children and their parents to vote with their feet.

Some people´s hatred for public schools (and their belief that all of society´s social and economic ills begin and end with what and how children are taught in school), causes them to forget that if taxpayer money can be used to send children to a religious charter school, then ANY religion can do so, including Muslim schools or even a Great Spaghetti Monster one.

Read what´s happening in Europe? Their experiment in multicultural diversity is failing. The Muslims are moving in and NOT assimilating at all. The common culture of Western Civilization is disappearing. Setting up charter schools based on narrow religious or political views is dangerous, and making non-believers pay for it is stupid.

Public schools are far from perfect, but breaking them up in favor of thousands of schools with their own "charter" to indoctrinate their own little niche philosophies will cause the very thing we conservatives seek to avoid: the end of our American experiment in creating and maintaining a democratic republic.

I, for one, am going to ignore the new "twitter" and "Facebook" crap at the end of the article.

The "National Education Association" is unconstitutional. "...improperly funded through the public school financing formula"? I can´t find any such formula in the constitution. Let the states and counties worry about it, or better yet privatize the entire thing. Let parents either educate their children or pay for their children´s education.

I have no children, yet I have to keep trying to reach the liberal youngsters who have been brainwashed with my tax dollars. I find that beyond unacceptable.
