Facing Up to the Enormity of Our Problem

| There will be no short term solution to the problem now facing Western civilization in general, and America in particular. Modern leftist authoritarians and their intellectual progenitors have created a special historical circumstance from which recovery must be painful, slow, and often heartbreaking -- namely, the complete breakdown of the shared birthright of reason and character which has traditionally allowed nations to forge ahead on common ground in the aftermath of even the most violent eruptions. There is a fond hope in some conservative circles that the inevitable destructiveness of Obama´s second

FTA: " Rather, this time the war is between reason and irrationality themselves, virtue and vice themselves. There is no common spiritual ground to guarantee resolution and reunion after the dust settles. " Exactly - you cannot reason with libtards, negotiate with libtards or trust libtards. You can only destroy libtards - they are a constant threat to the Republic.
As for his summary: FTA:" Two fundamentally opposed views of life are represented, and the side of reason and decency is by far the outnumbered force." I disagree - the capture of the media and education systems enable libtards to make it ´appear´ they are in the majority, but in reality they are only a third of the population: ~220 million potential voters, and ~61 million voted the libtards back into power.

Definite Must Read, Must Save and Must forward to everyone you know, especially those with grandchildren. FTA:The modern left´s anti-rational, anti-virtuous, anti-individualist superstructure must be destroyed, mercilessly and thoroughly. It took generations for this brilliant scheme of reassuring repression -- soft despotism -- to be wound around the West, like spider´s silk around its paralyzed prey. It might take generations to unravel it. The alternative to this fight, however, is to sit passively by as the world enters a new dark age.
This is going to be hard, and it is going to take much longer than the American Revolutionary War, for reasons I have explained above. But we can win, and we will win. Time is not on our side; but truth is.

Our universities are the problem. They not only do not teach and transmit American history and values, they are systematically indoctrinating students into anti-Americanism. This spreads into the media, popular entertainment, primary and secondary schools. Unless something is done about the universities the outlook is not good - though for some reason I am not as pessimistic as the author of this thoughtful column. But he could well be right. We are in a real mess. I don´t think we can count on it to correct itself, though it just might do that and surprise the prophets of doom. But what to do meantime? American universities were seized and taken over at gunpoint in the Sixties. Is that the answer now? Should all those angry old white men who are embittered and clinging to their guns and religion emulate the Sixties Radicals, including the Black Panthers, Eric Holder, William Ayres, etc and march and occupy university buildings at gun point and start issuing demands? Would that work this time the way it worked then? I have some doubts that it would. But it did work in the Sixties. The university administrators met with the armed radicals, negotiated with them, gave in to their demands. That´s how "Black Studies" got started. More dumbing down quickly followed. Universities lost their educational function. How can they ever get it back?

The best I´ve read since the election, and touches on much that has been on my mind. This is an existential crisis between reason and insanity, good and evil. The author is correct that we are facing it with a society that has abandoned virtue for ´values´ and religious morals for ´spiritual´ relativism.
I jumped in 100% for the Tea Party Movement because I was convinced that the ´silent majority´ really was the majority. On election night I found out that I was wrong.
The only thing I fault in the article is the seemingly mandatory exhortation to keep fighting, without a hint of how. More emails and phone calls to political leaders who are collaborating with the Lefties? For years commentators have railed that we must take over the media, academia, entertainment and yet the powerful movers and shakers who are supossed to be on our side do nothing.
Its all rotted out from the inside. Let it fall. For me; its my God, my family, my church, my community. My focus is shifting from the things of this earth to the things of heaven.

I have given up fantasizing about some kind of revolution happening. What I recommend now is saving your family and moving to a place where people have similar values. If you live in a state like California, it´s hopeless. Between the leftwingers, the illegals, the gangs, and the meth addicts, you are outnumbered 100 to 1. I don´t even know what ´America´ is anymore, nor do I much care. I have more important concerns.

I will add that affirmative action, the intolerance (PC) toward more conservative views and the label that any one who disagrees with a liberal is a nazi, racist or ignorant. Of course, more particular and current reasons for the difficulty in identifying the "how" to fight the ursurpation and subjugation by the left.
Definitely a "Must Read".

Ditto. Worth reading carefully.
I was glad to see him demolish the idea that the history of the USSR or other socialist regimes tells us much about what will happen in the US. It does not.
Many of my friends seem to still regard our present difficulties as a setback, a big setback perhaps, but nothing an election victory and two or four years of wise leadership can´t fix.
I am with Jonescu. It will take decades. And the universe is coldly indifferent about who wins.

Fine article. Obama is not the cause but the effect of over 40 years of Leftist takeover of key power and influence points in our nation. Most notably, higher education and the moribund news media turned Leftist propaganda arm. The Leftists are a distinct minority using an attractive but false narrative along with political judo to obtain and retain power. Again, this is 40 years in the making... Had it not been Obama, it would have been Hillary who would have boiled us slower, but nevertheless boiled us. Restoration of America, its principles, its promise and its inimitable Dream will take far more than a couple encouraging election cycles.

The trial details are nothing short of sensational: A doctor accused of killing seven newborns and a young woman at a filthy Philadelphia clinic strewn with body parts and described as a “slaughterhouse.” It’s big news in Philadelphia, but nationally, not so much. The lack of coverage is a problem for a growing chorus of conservative and media critics, who allege that the scant national media attention can be attributed not to the courtroom drama but the politics of abortion. Dr. Kermit Gosnell was an abortionist, meaning that any coverage of the trial risks painting

Harry Reid announced today that there will likely be a gun vote on Thursday. "Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) likely has the votes on gun control legislation to clear its first procedural hurdle -- a victory for the gun control community, though one that hardly guarantees the bill´s passage," reports the Huffington Post. "The majority leader announced on Tuesday evening he would submit for a vote the bill to expand background checks, implement a federal trafficking statute, and enhance school safety measures. That would set up a Senate vote on Thursday." The Huffington Post suggests Reid has the support he needs:

There´s no such thing as ´gay infertility.´" Oh, yes, there is now. The language doesn´t mean anything anymore, folks. Truth doesn´t mean anything anymore. Language doesn´t mean anything. So if a bunch of activists want to create the concept of "gay infertility" and then tax all the rest of us to compensate them for the fact that they can´t have babies, then that´s gonna happen. RUSH: The media is not happy that Obama is underwater on the polling data on all these issues: Immigration, gun control, whatever else. He´s under 50%, and the media is worried about this. They´re not accustomed to Obama being underwater. They´re accustomed to Obama, no matter what´s happening in the country, being at 55%. They´re accustomed to whatever´s happening in the country not attaching itself to Obama. The guys at CBS News have a sense of humor. The Web headline on their story about President Obama´s antigun speech yesterday in Hartford, Conn., reads: "Obama on Gun Debate: ´This Isn´t About Me.´ " That reminded someone on Twitter of the same network´s headline from July 20, 2009: "Obama on Health Care: ´This Isn´t About Me.´ " Try to imagine how soul-ravishingly tedious an Obama speech would be if it were about him. We dare you. Obama´s speech, at once demagogic and pathetic, reminded us of Mayor Michael Nutter´s efforts to censor a different kind of magazine,

WASHINGTON — Several Senate Republicans on Tuesday came out publicly against filibustering the first major gun control legislation since 1993 before it is even brought up for debate on the Senate floor, as advocates inched toward breaking a conservative blockade of the measure. With backers of new gun safety laws increasingly optimistic that they can corral the 60 votes necessary to begin consideration of the measure, Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the majority leader, said he would schedule a showdown vote for Thursday. His comments came as lobbying on gun control stepped up on Capitol Hill,

By whom and how that was accomplished presumably will be the subject of a criminal investigation.”

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.
