| Rather than bother with the messy business of face-to-face negotiations with Republicans over the looming fiscal cliff, Barack Obama has chosen to take Air Force One up to the Philadelphia area today to talk at another adoring crowd. Because no one´s had enough campaigning yet? [Snip] However, buried deep in a new CNN/ORC International poll this week sits a hopeful statistical inkling that more Americans are now figuring this machine pol out.

I have become thoroughly uninterested in polls. We had the only poll that counted, and it proved the bulk of the other polls wrong. Pollsters can report back when they figure out how they misled me into believing my country would be redeemed from irreversable disaster.
Obama and the MSM ( but I repeat myself- there is no separation ) will have their way with us for the next four years. Much grinding of teeth and sorrow to follow. But, who have we to blame but ourselves. We had a good shot and we chose instead to consume ourselves in back-biting and foolish divisions.

Observation: My husband, daughter and close friend, all Romney voters working in Obama voter territories, each remarked the day after the election that no one seemed happy. Glum, even. People voted for Obama because they felt they had to but hoped that Romney, the grownup, really won or they voted for Obama out of fear, as the MSM made Romney to be only "for the rich." Not many, like the Obamaphone lady, voted for him with eagerness or hope. But now he´s President and we´re all stuck.

History will judge him as the worst president in modern history. He will slink into obscurity as his wife makes the daytime TV circuit. He will be viewed as an abject failure in all but the black and academic communities..He will become a punchline..a joke...

Obama´s job in the Democrat Party plan is to rally the base while Reid and Pelosi flesh out the legislation. Obama is not a leader, and he has no leadership ability, besides.
Reid and Pelosi´s stimulus and health care bills were drafted by Congress and Senate Democrats. Obama was and is just the face of liberalism.

Interesting data. Puzzling when you realize he was reelected. Bolsters the case for election fraud, doesn´t it?

This shows how dumb we are. Yes the expectations number dropped. However, by a 56-40 count people still think things will be better after another 4 years of Obama.

America has a special responsibility to safeguard our environment. Britain staged the funeral of former British Prime Minister and staunch American ally Margaret Thatcher the other day. They skipped the RAF flyover at the request of Thatcher, a conservative thrift even in death. We wrote here about that impressive day, including its regrettably classless dismissal by America´s highest-ranking South Sider. It´s as if Obama already knows and resents how much more she accomplished as a leader from the front than he can ever dream of achieving from his chosen position behind. But today we want to ruminate on the language that day.

On Monday, an act of terror wounded dozens and killed three innocent people at the Boston Marathon. But in the days since, the world has witnessed one sure and steadfast truth: Americans refuse to be terrorized. Ultimately, that’s what we’ll remember from this week. That’s what will remain. Stories of heroism and kindness; resolve and resilience; generosity and love. The brave first responders — police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and National Guard — who ran toward danger to help their fellow citizens.

Hi, I’m Tim Scott, Senator from South Carolina. This week, on Patriot’s Day, a day that celebrates the beginning of our country’s journey toward freedom, a horrific tragedy occurred. The Boston Marathon bombing has left us all with a heavy heart and we pray for the victims and their families. However, while the perpetrators of this act of terror hoped that they could shake the confidence of a city, they have instead only strengthened the resolve of our nation.

Given the self-fulfilling, self-importance of the national media, anything of lasting political, social or economic importance by definition must happen in or be somehow tied to Washington, D.C. This media myopia helps explain the "surprising" news stories that regularly seem to burst on the national scene when, in fact, they´ve been percolating a while in states and cities around the country. [Snip] It is admittedly no easy task to professionally monitor what´s happening locally in 50 far-flung states, especially given the contraction of resources at traditional media news-gatherers.

It would have been interesting to be a waiter at the Jefferson Hotel last evening as Democrat President Obama dined with a dozen Senate Democrats after so angrily and thoroughly denouncing said chamber and said Democrats a few hours earlier. It was a mortifying day for the Chicago machine Democrat, unaccustomed as he is to fellow party members defying their titular head. Five Democrats joined 41 Republicans against 54 other Dems to defeat expanded gun purchase background checks in a vote requiring 60 to pass. Such checks were once considered a virtual gimme for the Oval Office shotgun buff.

In one of those ceremonial pageants the Brits invented, Margaret Hilda Thatcher´s funeral unfolded this morning on the old streets of London to the sounds of the classical music she loved and Bible verses in St. Paul´s Cathedral. So great was the global appreciation for the Iron Lady who led Great Britain from 1979-90, that 2,000 dignitaries attended, including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. This was the monarch´s first funeral of a former prime minister in nearly a half-century. [Snip] Alas, in a sad slap at its closest European ally, the American president sent no one from his administration.

The bloody scene looked more like Kabul or Baghdad Monday afternoon. But it was downtown Boston on a bright, shiny holiday at the finish line for the Boston Marathon. There, two trash can bombs went off, injuring scores and killing three, including an eight-year-old boy. The awful spectacle was doubly shocking to Americans because, Fort Hood aside, homeland terrorism has been largely thwarted since 9/11. To maximize the impact of their deadly cowardice, terrorists plan their deeds not for, say Mile 18 of a marathon.

Hi. As you’ve probably noticed, I’m not the President. I’m just a citizen. And as a citizen, I’m here at the White House today because I want to make a difference and I hope you will join me. My name is Francine Wheeler. My husband David is with me. We live in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. David and I have two sons. Our older son Nate, soon to be 10 years old, is a fourth grader at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Our younger son, Ben, age six, was murdered in his first-grade classroom on December 14th.

The FBI was last night hunting a 12-strong terrorist “sleeper cell” linked to the Boston marathon bomb brothers.Police believe Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were specially trained to carry out the devastating attack.More than 1,000 FBI operatives were last night working to track down the cell and arrested a man and two women 60 miles from Boston in the hours before Dzhokhar’s dramatic capture after a bloody shootout on Friday. THE graying man flashing fury in the Rose Garden on behalf of the Newtown families, the grieving man wiping away tears after speaking at the Boston memorial service, is not the same man who glided into office four years ago. President Obama has watched the blood-dimmed tide drowning the ceremony of innocence, as Yeats wrote, and he has learned how to emotionally connect with Americans in searing moments, as he did from the White House late Friday night after the second bombing suspect was apprehended in Boston.

In debate classes or law school, it is often referred to as the ‘arguing against the non-existing opponent’ tactic. The way it works is you imply your opponent is making an outlandish, unsavory claim (though he isn’t), hoping others will run with it or, at worst, that your opponent won’t sufficiently correct it and the claim sticks. To illustrate, imagine Sally is arguing in favor of marijuana’s legalization against Tom. In the middle of the debate, Tom suddenly shrieks: “Well, Sally, you can talk about legalizing marijuana all you want but I just don’t believe

BOSTON - The surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings suffered an injury to his throat and may not be able to talk, a federal official told CNN on Saturday, possibly hindering attempts by authorities to question him about a motive in the attack. With one suspect dead, authorities believe answers to a motive and whether the brothers had help rest with Dzhokar Tsarnaev, who was captured Friday night just minutes after authorities had indicated that a massive manhunt for the suspect appeared to come up empty. The official, who was briefed on Tsarnaev´s condition

Washington — The governor of Massachusetts says he has no idea what motivated the terrorists who exploded two bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Speaking Sunday on CBS’ ”Face the Nation,” Deval (deh-VAL’) Patrick said it’s hard to imagine why someone would deliberately harm, quote “innocent men, women and children in the way that these two fellows did.” Patrick also said law enforcers believe the immediate threat ended when the police killed one of the alleged terrorists and captured the other. The two men were brothers whose family had come to the U.S.

Washington - Boston Mayor Tom Menino says information he has indicates that the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing acted alone. Menino tells ABC's "This Week" that he agreed with the decision to lock down Boston all day Friday, based on information officials had at the time. He tells ABC's "This Week" that a pipe bomb was found at another location and that another person was taken into custody. The mayor did not elaborate. One suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-KHAR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv), is in the hospital in serious condition. His older brother, Tamerlan, died in a police shootout

The two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings were not licensed to have the firearms they used in several shootouts with police on Friday, Reuters reported Sunday night. The news that the suspects were not authorized to own firearms will likely add fuel to calls for tougher gun laws – an issue that was put on the back-burner last week after the Senate blocked the central elements of a gun-control package backed by President Obama. Because Massachusetts state law bars handgun ownership for those younger than 21, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, age 26, was the only brother who could have

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A Massachusetts police official say the brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon before having shootouts with authorities didn´t have gun permits. Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas tells The Associated Press in an interview Sunday that neither Tamerlan Tsarnaev (tsahr-NEYE´-ehv) nor his brother Dzhokhar had permission to carry firearms. He says it´s unclear whether either ever applied and the applications aren´t considered public records.

The most glaring fact about our president is that he is an empty suit. The people around him are also empty suits. They believe in nothing, really, but unearned luxury, unmerited adulation, and unaccountable power. Those whom we have come to call "leftists" are in fact nothing but nihilists, and we flatter them when we presume that they value anything beyond their vanities, their avarice, and their selfishness. When tragedy strikes, like in the Boston bombing, these empty suits can look and

Philip Mudd, former counterterror expert for the CIA and the FBI, joined Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday to discuss the nature of the threat posed by the Tsarnaev brothers and any network they may have been associated with in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings. He said the Boston attack reminded him more of the 1999 attack on Columbine than a terror event orchestrated by a foreign network. “I would charge these guys as murders not terrorists,” Mudd said of the suspects in the attack on the Boston Marathon. “Do you think we have to fear copycats – more of these small,

Lots of “tough questions” are being asked about why the FBI--having interviewed the older Boston bomber, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in 2011--failed to continue to keep tabs on him. But that is the wrong question to be asking. The much more pressing question is: why the FBI didn’t nab the bombers on Monday night? After all, they hadn’t skipped town, and one of them--Tamerlan--was sitting "on file" as someone whom the Russian government said they suspected was an Islamist terrorist. A man they repeatedly interviewed just two years ago. Why did no one check those files, within minutes of the
