| The U.S. mission in Libya where a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans were killed in a terrorist attack lacked special security barriers that the State Department’s inspector general recommended three years ago for diplomatic facilities in danger zones, the top Republican on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee said Thursday. The State Department inspector general recommended in 2009 that U.S. diplomatic facilities in danger zones have special holding areas for visitors called “man traps,” but the U.S. consular facility in Benghazi did not have them, Sen. Susan M. Collins of Maine told reporters

Hmmmmmm I started to read an article in the Canada Free Press this morning, didn´t get to finish it, but it kind of stated the Benghazi building was not a consulate but was a rented estate and that the annex was a CIA prison and the warehouse that was housing the guns bound for Syria(that were BTW stolen by the terrorists) was also in that area. It was not embassy property.

Dittos #1 - After reading parts I and II of the Canada Free Press article, this article from the Washington Times looks like the author had tried to work with "old" information and the disnformation fed to us by the Obama regime. The U.S. building in Benghazi was never a "Consulate" or "Mission", it was a secret CIA headquarters building. "Ambassador" Stevens was really a CIA agent operating under cover of being an "Ambassador". His job was to help funnel weapons from Ghadafi´s stockpiles to the rebels fighting the Assad regime in Syria by way of Turkey. The Obama regime has lied about this since day one. Obama decided it was better to let Americans die there rather than expose it for being a CIA headquarters which might hurt his chances for being re-elected. The building was left unproteceted for a reason. They thought if they left it unprotected it wouldn´t draw too much attention. It was probably the Russians who organized the attack on the embassy, since the Russians are allies of the Assad regime.

The parallels between Benghazi and the Kenyan embassy bombings is eerily similar. Same old players too.

Sounds like Obama´s own version of Iran-Contra.
Here again we really don´t know if Syrian rebels are any better than the current regime. Apparently there´s some folks in Egypt who wish the had Mubarak back instead of their new tinhorn dictator.

The FBI released photos and a brief videotape Thursday of two men it described as “Suspect No. 1 and Suspect No. 2” in the bombing Monday at the Boston Marathon that killed three and injured nearly 180, and appealed to the public to help identify them. The men, walking single file on Boylston Street toward the marathon’s finish line, were seen in photos and a 30-second video carrying black backpacks as they walked briskly along the marathon route. Both wore dark jackets. One wore a white baseball cap, turned backward, and the other wore a black one.

This evening, an image was posted on the social news site reddit who appears to be the Federal Bureau of Investigation´s "Suspect 2" in the Boston Marathon bombing investigation. The image is high resolution and more clear than many of the photos released by the FBI. Here it is at different aspect ratios: Earlier Thursday, the FBI released photographs and video of two suspects. One of the suspects can be seen wearing a white hat backwards, a dark jacket, and what appears to be a gray sweatshirt or hoodie. The logo

BOSTON — The FBI released video and photos on Thursday of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings who were seen carrying backpacks and walking casually among spectators shortly before the blasts. Officials hope the release of images culled from a trove of digital information will help them identify and capture the men who were described by Richard DesLauriers, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston division, as “armed and extremely dangerous.” DesLauriers said at a Boston news conference that investigators identified one person of interest

"The Five" on Fox News Channel didn´t cover more than a few seconds of President Obama´s petulant Rose Garden attack on conservatives making Wednesday "a shameful day for Washington." The other networks, which define "news" as anything their Heroic President chooses to utter, including his March Madness picks, were shocked and appalled. In Thursday´s New York Times, Phil Griffin, the president of MSNBC, noted that ABC, CBS and NBC had broadcast special reports because they deemed the president’s remarks important. Griffin denounced Fox’s decision to skip it as “a disgrace.”

Democrats enjoy a supermajority in the Illinois House of Representatives, holding 71 seats to the GOP´s 47. On Wednesday, the same day the US Senate voted down gun control legislation, powerful Democrat Speaker Michael Madigan tried to push a restrictive gun control measure through his chamber. The result was an open revolt by downstate Democrats, with almost half the Democrat caucus joining the GOP to kill the measure. The bill went down 31-76, a rare defeat for the legendary Madigan. The Senate’s effective rejection of President Barack Obama’s post-Newtown gun control bill robs the Democratic Party of an important tool for trying to regain a majority in the House in November 2014. “Are they serious?” a visibly angry Obama demanded of opponents of the Toomey/Manchin Senate bill. In a late-afternoon announcement outside the White House, the president added that if Congress continues not to pass a gun control bill, “the answer will have to come from the voters.” But without a Senate bill, there’s little chance

After all the controversy – it was too much, and too expensive; it would be marred by protests – this morning’s funeral for Lady Thatcher in London was a splendid and memorable affair, which did her memory, and her country, proud. It was a moving, dignified and pitch-perfect occasion: unmistakably British, and a fitting send-off for the country’s greatest post-war prime minister. Big Ben fell silent – for the first time since the funeral of wartime leader Winston Churchill – and tens of thousands of admirers lined the streets to applaud Lady Thatcher’s coffin

Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister offered condolences to President Obama Wednesday for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. Prince Saud Al-Faisal made the gesture during a meeting at the White House that included National Security Advisor Tom Donilon. The White House didn’t report Mr. Obama’s response about the Boston tragedy, but said the president asked Mr. Al-Faisal “to convey his best wishes to King Abdullah bin Abd Al-Aziz Al Saud.” Although Saudi Arabia is a longtime ally of the U.S., terrorism is a complicated issue between the two nations

If there was ever a moment that symbolized the difference between the power of public opinion and the strength of a concerted minority, it came Wednesday when the Senate defeated a bipartisan measure to expand background checks on gun purchases. By the time the vote took place, the outcome was expected. Nonetheless, the result was stunning, as was made clear by the angry reaction of President Obama, who had invested so much capital on getting gun legislation passed after the shootings in Newtown, Conn., only to see those efforts crushed

President Obama’s ambitious effort to overhaul the nation’s gun laws in response to December’s school massacre in Connecticut suffered a resounding defeat Wednesday, when every major proposal he championed fell apart on the Senate floor. It was a stunning collapse for gun-control advocates just four months after the deaths of 20 children and six adults in Newtown led the president and many others to believe that the political climate on guns had been altered in their favor. The national drive for laws that might prevent another mass shooting unraveled

Yesterday, the most modest of gun control proposals died in the Senate. It would have expanded background checks to people purchasing weapons at gun shows and online sales, enjoyed 90 per cent support among the public and came on the back of the tragedy at Newtown. Yet, despite all that it had going for it, the Toomey-Manchin bill raised just 54 votes--six short of the number necessary for passage. “This is a pretty shameful day for Washington,” said Obama afterwards. It wasn’t exactly a red letter day for him, either. Why did the no-brainer bill fail? Four reasons:

President Obama angrily blamed the defeat Wednesday of his centerpiece gun-control proposal on lies spread by the National Rifle Association, calling it “a pretty shameful day for Washington.” “The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill,” Mr. Obama said in the White House rose garden about 90 minutes after the vote. “It came down to politics.” As he spoke, Mr. Obama was surrounded by family members of victims of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. Also with him was former Rep. Gabby Giffords of Arizona, wounded in an assassination attempt.

Authorities on Tuesday revealed little new information about the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon, the most high-profile bombing on U.S. soil in more than a decade and a tragedy that presents a new test for President Obama. Obama, like all Americans, is standing by, waiting for answers as to who planted two bombs improvised from pressure cookers at the finish line of the storied race, and why. Three Americans were killed in Monday´s attack and more than 170 others were injured. "Anytime bombs are used to target innocent civilians, it is an act of terror," Obama said,

The Senate delivered a devastating blow to President Obama’s agenda to regulate guns Wednesday by defeating a bipartisan proposal to expand background checks. It failed by a vote of 54 to 46, with 5 Democrats voting against it. Only 4 Republicans supported it. Democratic Sens. Mark Pryor (Ark.), Max Baucus (Mont.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Mark Begich (Alaska) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) voted against it. Reid supported the measure but voted against it to preserve his ability to bring the measure up again. GOP Sens. John McCain (Ariz.), Susan Collins (Maine), Pat Toomey (Pa.) and Mark Kirk

While the media are bearing the brunt of public skepticism over the handling of the Boston bombing, the behavior of government is also eroding public trust. Yesterday´s promised but cancelled news briefing is just one symptom. Andrew McCarthy of PJM notes that "Misinformation rather than enlightenment has been the order of the day in the investigation of Monday´s terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon," and that part of it is the natural outgrowth of the desire of investigators to keep the details of their investigations secret, so as not to alert suspects.

Mark Kelly, the astronaut husband of former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, on Thursday upbraided senators who voted against gun legislation by saying they voted “out of fear.” ”If that vote had been a secret ballot, I bet you it would have passed with 80 votes,” Kelly told reporters. He was referencing the compromise authored by Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) to expand background checks for gun buyers. It failed to advance in the Senate, with a vote Wednesday afternoon of 54 to 46.

As we now move into the official Political Aftermath period of the Boston bombing — the period that will determine the long-term legislative fallout of the atrocity — the dynamics of privilege will undoubtedly influence the nation’s collective reaction to the attacks. That’s because privilege tends to determine: 1) which groups are — and are not — collectively denigrated or targeted for the unlawful actions of individuals; and 2) how big and politically game-changing the overall reaction ends up being.

Washington — President Barack Obama says the Senate’s opposition to a bill that would have expanded background checks for gun buyers marks a “shameful day” in Washington. He says a minority of senators decided “it wasn’t worth it” to protect the nation’s children. Obama spoke in the Rose Garden shortly after the Senate vote rejecting a bipartisan effort to expand federal background checks to more firearms buyers. (Snip) The president pinned the blame for the measures failure, though five Democrats also opposed the plan. He also said the gun lobby and its allies “willfully lied” about background check bill.

Misinformation rather than enlightenment has been the order of the day in the investigation of Monday’s terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon. The anxiety stemming from the attack and the stream of inaccurate news about it is further freighted, moreover, by the FBI’s confirmation that two letters addressed to top political officials — President Obama and Senator Richard Wicker (R., MS) — tested positive for ricin, a deadly poison. As noted below, a man identified as Kenneth Curtis of Tupelo, Mississippi, has reportedly been arrested in connection with the mailings. Early this afternoon, massive confusion
