| In remarks on the Senate floor today, Alabama senator Jeff Sessions blasted President Barack Obama and congressional leadership for holding "secret" fiscal cliff negotiations."I rise today to express my reservations about the fiscal cliff negotiations that are currently underway," said Sessions. "Over the last two years, Congress and the President have held an endless series of secret negotiations. There have been gangs of six and eight, a supercommittee of 12, talks at the Blair House and the White House.

If the "Won" wants 1.6 in revenue, then based on the 4 to 1 in reduced spending that has been touted previously, the Little 0 should provide 6.4 in gov cuts, then we would talk about 8 Trillion overall. That would be a good first step...but we know that is not going to happen.

The house should pass a permanent tax rate cut across the board as well as seriously cutting spending (none for the epa, doe, doe, etc) and recess for Christmas. When asked, they should tell the libtard media, the ball is in the libtards court - they can save jobs by cutting taxes and spending or own the coming financial disaster. And just sit there doing nothing. Doing nothing is always better than doing the wrong thing where you have such options, and in this case not making things worse is better than accelerating disaster.

Why does Sessions care? He has no role here. The deal is between Sen Dems and House Reps. Senate republicans might as well take the rest of the year off--they are completely irrelevant.

#3 I favor the House passing what it wants, keeping it in the news as much as possible, and making Reid and/or Obama take it or leave it. Right out in the open before God and the People.
IMO secret negotiations are bad for the GOP because media will just keep spinning rumors to favor the Democrats. The GOP story is fragmented because they cannot point to anything they have sent to the Senate.
#4 Sessions and the other GOP Senators have one possible role. Should O ever agree to entitlement cuts Reid may not be able to deliver enough Dem votes in the Senate. Harry might need GOP votes.
That scenario is unlikely because O isn´t going to agree to any such cuts.
Personally, I expect the GOP and Boehner to fold. Fated to join the Whigs in the ash bin.

But the country singer and the senator are contenders for that title according to Attorney General Eric Holder, who in 2009 famously declared that America is a “nation of cowards” because it refuses to talk about race “enough.” Holder was hardly the first, nor will he be the last, liberal to call for a national conversation on race. It’s one of the mossiest locutions in modern America. Though often ridiculous and hackneyed, this isn’t necessarily a sinister or mercenary thing.

PHILADELPHIA — A medical receptionist says an unlicensed doctor fled out a back door the night of an FBI raid on a Philadelphia clinic.Witness Tina Baldwin has testified Thursday at the trial of abortion provider Kermit Gosnell and unlicensed doctor Eileen O´Neill. Gosnell is charged with killing a patient and seven babies, while O´Neill is charged with billing as a doctor.Baldwin says O´Neill cared about the elderly patients she saw for high blood pressure and diabetes problems.

I haven’t read many grand-jury reports, but I’ve read or perused a few. But not enough to feel like I can say I know what a typical grand-jury report reads like. Having now read the Gosnell grand-jury report, I must say I’m extremely impressed with how well-written it is. Yes, the underlying facts are horrifying and disgusting. Two New York Times columnists embarrassed themselves over the weekend, betraying anti-gun ignorance in the paper´s Sunday Review.Frank Bruni went hunting for the first time (with the chef of a ritzy Manhattan restaurant), and remarked "what an unfair fight" hunting is, as if he was the first person to think that up. After lamenting "how thoroughly a weapon can be romanticized and fetishized," he pivoted to easy access to guns in "this country of ours." I could forget, when not aiming at a bird, to keep the gun pointed toward the sky or the ground.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.
