Susan Rice’s already fading chances of becoming the next secretary of state suffered another serious blow Wednesday courtesy of moderate GOP Sen. Susan Collins. Rice, the U.N. ambassador, will need the support of a handful of Republicans if she expects to succeed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. But Collins emerged from a face-to-face meeting and blasted Rice’s response to the Benghazi attack — the latest of several Republicans this week to signal that a Rice nomination will have real trouble getting through the Senate.
That´s right, if she comes out and opposes Traitor John as well, then I´ll be impressed. Rice may be the most incompetent, anti-American joke in this sad sack Administration, and that´s saying something.
If Susan Collins who votes further left than most democrats, can´t accept Ambassador Rice´s explanations then she doesn´t stand a chance for the SoS job. I don´t think Kerry does either but it´ll be fun trying to have him produce his military records. The quality of Obamas staff appointments so far has been uniformly low. I don´t expect it to get any better!
FTA: But one GOP senator told POLITICO Wednesday that McCain, Graham and Ayotte were so incensed after their powwow with Rice because they felt she was not being straight or candid with them about Benghazi
Powwow? Maybe Barry should just wait till after the New Year when Lizzie Warren (D-Cherokee Nation) can join in on the discussions.
Sounds like their narrowing the field, one idiot possibly disqualified, next idiot for secretary of state- kerry? Obviously, idiot is the qualifying characteristic. Following on the present idiot now in that office.
Must agree with #11, I have the same kind of feeling about the SoS replacement. Everything the Chicago Gang on the Potomac does is a smoke screen for some other nefarious action. Can´t trust any of them, especially the non astute ValJar.
If the Sens really think she is a possible nominee (and not just a way to get Repubs to further P off the black and female vote), then one of them should just say "A nomination of Susan Rice for Secretary of State can only be saying one thing: the President thinks Sen. Kerry is not qualified for the job".
Rice it seems is the perfect product of the affirmative action, quota driven, divisive race bating world the Liberals have visited on us - multi-generational entitled attitude, arrogant, flippant, supercilious. She is a piece of work.

I´m starting to get the sense that the WH Choom Gang is laffing their arses off at us - McCain/Graham, Ayotte/Collins - all of us spinning our heads over Susan Rice, when they planned something else, someone else, all along.
How John McCain can even LOOK at John Kerry even in the Senate knowing what J´Effin did and said about U.S. soldiers at the very time he, McCain, was in the Hanoi Hilton ... I´ll never know.
But then, I can´t pretend to EVER get inside the heads of our elected Super-Smarts.

Let´s put our liberal thinking cap on. Why should Susan Rice even have a job? At age 38 she is worth over 30 million dollars from investing in EVIL OIL. Who wants someone like that in a liberal administration?
When Maureen Dowd is concerned about Rice you know you have a problem. No Drama Obama is actually All Drama All the Time Obama. He could fix this very easily and get back to trying to solve bigger problems, but he won´t.
Part of this is policy but a lot is personality. Rice has made a lot of enemies over the years and the Sec of State job requires someone with a lot more tact than Rice. Obama may be as shocked as GHW Bush was when his nomination of John Tower for Defense crashed.
Thsuusaan Cauulliinths´ cadence, #26, is nothing more than a speech impediment that could have been corrected in childhood. She should spend some quality time with Barry, who whistles the letter S like a cheap plastic toy.
FTA: Rice acknowledged this week that she had mistakenly described the attack as something spontaneous rather than premeditated. But she said neither she nor anyone else in the administration intended to mislead the public.
I just read her bio at Wikipedia (don´t laugh) and it is not exactly a glowing bio. I always thought Wikipedia was written by the person or family of the personality in question.
Rice has a history of making "mistakes" and lots of people died. In many of her positions, she was simply too inexperienced, which surprisingly, is stated in the Wikipedia entry.
I really think Obama thought when he made Susan Rice the UN Ambassador, the morons who voted for him would think he was just elevating Condi Rice. They would only see the name Rice and not know the difference. Republicans should come out and publicly say "Susan Rice is no Condi Rice!"
Re: 17---I for one was never convinced Romney would win. Towards the end I became certain he would earn a clear majority of votes, popular and electoral. I was equally certain the Choomster would steal the election through vote fraud. And I was dead certain Republicans would do nothing about it.
Re: The remarks of 23 and 29 - I suspect that she told Collins something like this, "Listen up, we´re black, we´re in your face and we´re not going away. Any criticism leveled at me or BO will be denounced as RACISM - got it? And by the way, we KNOW where you live!" Probably the same thing that Romney will hear at lunch.
Obama is flexing his potus muscles with Rice. I suspect for effect, to appease his black base and to show he´s appreciative for their efforts. He will select either Kerry or as #11 predicts, Jon Huntsman. If he selects Kerry, they may likely lose a senate seat. Therefore it could possibly be Huntsman.
When you´ve lost Susan Collins... # 31 Collins compensates for her speech impediment by speaking very slowly and deliberately, which gives the impression she´s not a quick thinker. Barry´s obvious speech impediment has never once been acknowledged by his adoring media. If George Bush had the same impediment , every time he spoke in public, the media would preface their report by mentioning the sibilance problem. And when they asked him questions at a press conference, they would collaborate so all his answers required the use of the letter " S ".
Rhodes Scholar -you KNOW what that bunch is up to Foreign Policy advisor to Dukakis - oh lord On Bill Clinton´s campaigns - she´s a crook Management Consultant McKinsey & CO .. I repeat Intellibridge Brookings Foreign Policy advisor, John Kerry - holy sh ... CFR Aspen Institute
This woman is programmed to be exactly what she is.
But how the hell did she become worth $33 million?
You know your ship is sunk when you can´t even convince on of the dumbest RINO´s in the senate of your case. And trust me ole Suzzie is right up their as being one of the dullest knives in the Republican Senatorial drawer, right next to her buddy Murkowski. Susan rice is toast. It´s only a matter of how long the Obamanation keeps her in the oven.
Hi folks. I am was as frustrated as anyone else re the lack of outrage coming from Repub big wheels in our Congress. Then I come across an article that shed a little light on the issue. In 1982 to settle a lawsuit the RNC and RSC entered into an agreement or Consent Decree which is national in scope. (Cant be racist). It limited RNCs ability to engage or assist in voter fraud prevention unless the RNC obtained court approval. Any prescint with majority of minority voters was off limits to voter screening. End result-- NO VOTER monitoring allowed by GOP. Google it for more prescise explanations. Case pending in SCOTUS, 30 years later. Goodby GOP.
#12, "The spine donor republican´s" aren´t going to do anything because Collins and the entire repub party are fully complicit and onboard Obama´s statist agenda.
What we are watching from Collins and the others on Benghazi is a smokescreen and pure "Theatre" to make us think they are putting up a fight against the dems. They are not. Just as their protests about new taxes are phony. They will cave on everything including the ´Dream Act´ while we are focusuing on Benghazi and the upcoming Christmas Holiday´s. The same tactic the repubs used before they caved to Obama by design,on virtually everything during the 2010 lame Duck session during the week leading up to Christmas. They mean to drag out Benghazi untill the Christmas vacation hoping we will foget about it by the time they return, much like Issa and Boehner dragged out ´Fast and Furious´ with their ´Good cop,Bad cop´ routine. Anyone heard about ´Fast and Furious´ lately? I didn´t think so. And 300 mexican´s and two American Border Patrol agents were murdered in that one and all as a pretext to take away our God Given second Ammendment Right´s.
They are all collaborative Traitors in both Parties. WE need a Third Party Now!
Chris Matthews is crazy. Nevertheless, when left-wingers talk openly with one another, their craziness can be revealing. That is the case, I think, with this remarkable MSNBC clip. Matthews, fresh from his kneepad interview with President Obama, praises what he terms a uniquely brilliant insight by Al Sharpton: South Africa’s white politicians of the apartheid era were more patriotic than today’s Republicans: I haven’t heard anything as smart as what I heard Reverend Sharpton say a moment go in five years. The difference between the way F.W. de Klerk handled the need for change and the election – democratic election
Although the jobless rate in November fell to its lowest level since he took office, President Obama called on Republican lawmakers Saturday to spend tens of billions on unemployment benefits that are set to expire this month. “It shouldn’t be a partisan issue,” Mr. Obama said in his weekly address. But he said the “economic lifeline” is in jeopardy. “All because Republicans in this Congress — which is on track to be the most unproductive in history — have so far refused to extend it” Mr. Obama said. If Congress doesn’t act before lawmakers leave on their holiday break, about
Think all there is to say about the War on Christmas has already been said? Think again. With her trademark fearlessness and verve, Governor Sarah Palin’s new book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas, offers readers an impassioned, informative, and unapologetic defense of the sacredness of the season. “If I’m for Christmas, it’s only because I’m for Christ,” writes Gov. Palin. “There is no ultimate peace apart from Christ, and it is Christ who empowers every act of ‘goodwill toward men’ in our otherwise fallen hearts.” The book’s blending of personal experience with discussions of political
President Barack Obama said Saturday he believed the chances for a comprehensive nuclear agreement with Iran are 50-50 or worse, yet defended diplomacy as the best way to prevent Tehran from acquiring atomic weapons. During a question-and-answer session with a pro-Israel audience, Obama said he wasn´t naive about the odds for a successful final agreement between world powers and Iran next year, building on the recent six-month interim deal.(Snip) The president´s remark was somewhat startling. Obama has tried to allay the fears of many Israelis and some Americans that his administration last month promised to ease economic pressure too much
One in four applications for ObamaCare was botched during the process of forwarding the electronic files to insurers over the last two months, officials admitted Friday. The startling 25 percent error rate for October and November means that thousands who signed up on Healthcare.gov during that time could face problems when they try to use their new policies starting Jan. 1. The error rate fell to 10 percent this month, after repairs were made to the troubled Web site. But insurance-industry leaders are warning that the transmission situation is far from resolved. “The new process put in place this week is
Something bad has been in the water at Los Angeles International Airport for the last several weeks. With the city in the midst of a sweeping $2-billion transformation of the Tom Bradley International Terminal, airlines that use the facility´s old and new gates have been unable to replenish their aircraft with drinking water because of contamination in the building´s plumbing. According to airport emails obtained by The Times, the water is brown and contains high levels of bacteria and particles of copper, brass and rust. Officials have conducted a review to see if contamination has also surfaced in the water
Agents from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) are using Google Maps as part of their tool kit to audit taxpayers and organizations, The Daily Caller has learned. A redacted IRS letter dated Sept. 8, 2011 reveals that at least in one case the IRS’s examiners used photos of a property, obtained through Google Maps, as evidence to revoke the 501(c)(4) status of a homeowner’s association. “The road consists of a two-mile loop around the inside of the property. It goes not have any sidewalks or bicycle lanes. The examining agent printed and copied a map from Google Maps (www.google.com) into
MEMPHIS, Tenn.- After cold rain and winds lashed the Southwest and other parts of the country Friday, millions of residents hunkered down for icy conditions expected to last through the weekend as the cold snap was forecast to continue causing problems and trekking northeast. Face-stinging sleet, thick snow and blustery winds led to slick road conditions, school closures, power outages and event cancellations as the wintry blast dropped temperatures to freezing and below from Texas to Ohio to Tennessee on Friday. In California, four people died of hypothermia in the San Francisco Bay Area while
Gen. Billy Mitchell, one of the fathers of the American Air Force, made the bold claim in 1925 that Japan would attack the militarily unprepared United States “by striking first at Hawaii, some fine Sunday morning.” Most thought Mitchell was insane, his prediction ludicrous, and few had the desire for a new build-up of arms and military power. On a fine Sunday morning, 72 years ago, a wave of Japanese fighters, dive bombers, and torpedo planes came screaming over the hills of Oahu, Hawaii. As they approached Pearl Harbor, Japanese Commander Fuchida Mitsuo radioed back to his fleet the code
The Obama administration is selectively releasing data and metrics on ObamaCare to bolster its case that the rollout is going better in the month of December. Tidbits of information from federal health officials — especially figures that show improvements at HealthCare.gov — have become a key tool in the effort to “reboot” the law in the eyes of the public. But the limited nature of the releases has created conflict with the media and put the spotlight on outstanding areas of concern for the rollout, such as the enrollment site´s back end. It’s not unusual for politicians to put out
Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer had some harsh words for Barack Obama Friday. Appearing on Fox News’s Special Report, Krauthammer said, “It´s as if this guy discovers everything late, as if he wandered into the White House on a White House tour and discovered himself in the Oval Office as president.” (Video) BRET BAIER, HOST: What about this whole thing that his take, Charles, that government is not good at certain things, and we´re looking to consolidate some agencies, and yet his administration, when describing the success that they´re having now, says that the website is operating at private sector velocity?
Chris Matthews‘ exclusive interview with President Barack Obama was #1 in the 25-54 demo at 7pm and the second highest-rated show in the demo for all of cable news, despite airing during other network’s live coverage of Nelson Mandela’s death. With 298K viewers in the demo, MSNBC’s Hardball beat Fox’s On The Record with Greta Van Susteren, which had 218K, in the 7pm time slot. The only show with more viewers in the demo than Hardball was Fox’s The O’Reilly Factor, which had 405K viewers at 8pm. With 1.296M total viewers, Matthews came within 3K of Greta Van Susteren, who
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political-media culture that he has to work within, and that he´s looking to rally people, students here, and supporters, and people within the media. CHRIS MATTHEWS: But David Corn, you skeptic. He came to us today. He came amongst us. CORN: He´s trying to rally people behind this vision that he´s been promoting for a couple years. FINEMAN: By the way, he did it the end here, today, Chris, not by defending specifics, but by explaining why he´s in the game to begin with. And I don´t know about you, he´s
The most curious thing of all about the November jobs report released on Friday was the huge drop in the unemployment rate — and the fact that the Labor Department chose not to disclose that the data going into that figure are under investigation for falsification. On Nov. 19, I broke the news in my column that the Census Bureau, which collects data that goes into the jobless rate on behalf of Labor, had caught one of its enumerators fabricating interviews in 2010. The culprit said back then (and to me during an interview) that he was told to do so by
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay

In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
Former President Bill Clinton shared an anecdote regarding Nelson Mandela and the aftermath of his impeachment Friday on CNN. Clinton revealed shortly after the “impeachment business” finished on Capitol Hill, Rep. Henry Hyde (R., Ill.) who managed the impeachment trial requested a meeting at the White House. The former president granted the meeting out of lessons of humility and forgiveness he learned from Mandela, he said: BILL CLINTON: I remember one day, oh, about a month after the whole impeachment business was over, Henry Hyde, who had run the whole show, unbelievably enough, maybe a few months after, it was
One definition of a pathological liar is someone who lies where the truth would serve just as well. When President Obama’s uncle, Onyango Obama, was arrested in 2011 for drunk driving, the truth — that Obama had stayed with his uncle years earlier for several weeks as a Harvard law student — would have served the president just fine. No potential Obama voter would have held it against him that an uncle he had stayed with two decades earlier was picked up for DUI. Yet the White House went with a lie, claiming that Obama had never met his uncle. Now that
Many people could die as extreme weather becomes common. There will be more freak winds like the October storm, which killed four people. Heatwaves will be lethal and the sea level will rise, leaving coastal towns at risk of being swamped by storm surges. Sir Brian Heap, president of the European Academies Science Advisory Council, said he felt “obliged” to issue the warning after a new study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. It comes on the back of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, which has killed more than 5,000 people. Sir Brian said: “Given the tragic events this
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is sending out letters telling gun owners to turn over their rifles and shotguns — or else face the consequences. New York City’s ban on rifles and shotguns that hold more than five rounds is now being enforced, according to a letter the NYPD is sending out to targeted city gun owners. “It appears you are in possession of a rifle and/or Shotgun (listed below) that has an ammunition feeding device capable of holding more than five (5) rounds of ammunition. Rifles and shotguns capable of holding more than five (5) rounds of ammunition are
