Sen. Kelly Ayotte denies racism
is behind opposition to Amb.
Susan Rice over Benghazi

Politico, by Katie Glueck

Sen. Kelly Ayotte on Tuesday bashed the charge that criticism of U.N. Amb. Susan Rice is rooted in racism and sexism. “I think it’s absolutely false,” said Ayotte (R-N.H.) on Fox News Channel’s “America Live with Megyn Kelly.” Ayotte, a vocal critic of Rice’s handling of the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, joined Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) in a meeting with the ambassador on Tuesday morning to discuss Rice’s initial explanation of those attacks, which ultimately proved to be incorrect.

Just look the camera/interviewer/accuser in the eye and say: "Four Americans in service to their country are dead, and we´ve been lied to about why that happened. I want the truth - ALL OF IT - NOW".

Maybe you´re missing something. The meeting was initiated by the WH, not Rice, and maybe not so that Rice could feel out the questions for a later confirmation hearing. Maybe it was to send a message. Rice gave evasive portmanteau answers. She probably wouldn´t know a straight answer from a smoked salmon. But Ayotte seemed visibly shaken. McCain was a little quavery. Lindsey says he is even more disturbed than he was before. IMO something threatening was delivered. There is a big picture at work. They were advised they are not smart enough to get to the bottom of this, and it would be better not to bother.

Support for the health care reform law is at its lowest point since it was enacted four years ago, according to a new poll. The Associated Press survey found that only 26 percent of Americans support the Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama’s signature domestic achievement. Forty-three percent said they are opposed to the law. The poll was conducted online, and online polls are typically not as accurate as telephone polls. But the results nevertheless point to political peril for Democratic congressional candidates in the midterm elections, with Republicans again running against the law across the country. The results also

MOSCOW - President Vladimir Putin on Friday said Russia´s takeover of Crimea showed off its military prowess, as his defence minister reported that the Russian flag was now flying over all military sites on the Black Sea peninsula. In a Kremlin ceremony with senior security officials, Sergei Shoigu told Putin that all Ukrainian servicemen still loyal to Kiev have left the Crimea region, whose annexation by Moscow has led to the worst stand-off with the West since the Cold War. "The recent events in Crimea were a serious test," Putin was shown on state television as saying in an echoing

Washington - The United States and Europe must stand firm in rejecting Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and its annexation of Crimea not just because they challenge the principles a peaceful and prosperous Europe is built on, President Obama said Wednesday in Brussels, but also because they thwart "universal values" of freedom and self-determination that stir all humanity. The president’s speech – the format Mr. Obama has favored for delivering big messages in foreign places – came at the end of a day during which the American leader visited for the first time two pillars of trans-Atlantic relations: NATO headquarters and

WASHINGTON — While President Obama insisted again on Tuesday that the West would not recognize the annexation of Crimea, officials in the United States and Europe have privately concluded that Crimea is lost and that the real challenge is stopping Russia from further destabilizing Ukraine. After meeting with allies in Europe and suspending Russia from the Group of 8, Mr. Obama indicated no plans for additional sanctions unless Russia’s president, Vladimir V. Rejecting the rigidly hierarchical and stratified societies of the ancient world, Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Western world has been working out the logic of these subversive teachings ever since, with the institutional transformation of marriage being the latest, though surely not the last, example of its social, moral,
