Cairo - More than 100,000 people took to the streets of Cairo on Tuesday to protest against a decree by the Egyptian president, Mohamed Morsi, that grants him sweeping constitutional powers. (Snip) "Dictator" was the word being used to describe Morsi´s new status after last Thursday´s decree, which grants the immunity for the president from judicial review as well protecting a controversial constitutional assembly dominated by the group he is affiliated with, the Muslim Brotherhood. "Today´s protests are to overthrow oppression and stand up to the new dictatorship of Morsi, his decree and a constitution far

Comments:
One man´s dictator might be another´s terrorist leader. Egypt sure know how to throw a protest. Still no word from 0bama and our $500M "humanitarian aid" that the Muslim Brotherhood [Morsi] needs.

While President Obama has overseen a largely secret war that has killed dozens of top al Qaeda commanders since 2009, one master terrorist has managed to elude U.S. forces: Nasser al-Wuhayshi. Today, Wuhayshi is a top target for the United States, after intelligence agencies monitored a conference call last week that served as a virtual board meeting for al Qaeda’s central leadership and the group´s global affiliates—and in which the Yemeni-born jihadist was promoted to the position of general manager for al Qaeda operations. At the request of its sources, The Daily Beast is withholding details about the

President Obama couldn´t say it—he denied it repeatedly in fact—but Edward Snowden was very much the reason he felt compelled to stand before the national press on a sun-baked Friday August afternoon and attempt to explain why his administration would pursue reforms of its counterterrorism programs even though—and this is the tricky part—he wouldn´t concede that those programs are flawed in any way. That brings us back to Snowden, the whistleblower/patriot/traitor squirreled away somewhere in Russia after revealing key operational details of the National Security Agency's domestic

Washington - The Obama administration released two documents on Friday describing the scope of National Security Agency data collection programs, a bid to quiet criticism they violate privacy rights. An NSA memorandum describes the beginnings of the agency´s collection of so-called telephone metadata of nearly every American under a provision of the Patriot Act, and the agency´s monitoring of foreign Internet traffic. Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro makes no secret of his devotion to the late leader Hugo Chavez - and now he has admitted he sometimes sleeps in the mausoleum where his mentor´s remains are kept. Mr Maduro, who served as Mr Chavez´s vice president, was named by him as his successor before he died. He said he likes to be close to the former leader´s remains so he can "carefully consider" his actions. Mr Maduro went on: "I sometimes come at night. At times, many times, I sleep here." Sometimes, he brings an entourage: "We enter at night and we stay to sleep. At night we reflect on things here."

This week, this website ran a piece which was very popular with readers. Call me a miserable cynic, but I found it one of the most indulgent pieces of tripe in history. So here´s what happens next. We run Shannon Kaiser´s list again and I tell you what I think of each of the author´s points. And everybody goes away happy - cynics, fans, everybody. Because you see, the true secret to happiness is not mindless, second-hand, doge-eared platitudes and faux nuggets of wisdom like Kaiser´s woeful excuse for a list. It's saying what you really think and being bold enough to stand behind it.

Columbia - A retweet by a Republican challenger to Lindsey Graham referred to the U.S. senator as “Nancy boy graham,” according to a government watchdog website. The retweet, which came from Nancy Mace’s twitter account @nancymace Tuesday, was deleted 10 minutes later, according to the Sunlight Foundation’s Politwoops, which tracks politicians’ deleted tweets. “Nancy boy” is a derogatory term used to describe an effeminate man. Graham periodically has been the target of similar rhetoric and questions about his sexuality.

Appearing on This Week With George Stephanopoulos, Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert battled not only the Democratic panelists but also conservative pundit George Will over the wisdom of shutting down the government to prevent Obamacare funding. That’s just not true. That is an absolute, blatant lie. We’re not trying to keep anybody from getting health care.

During his Wednesday appearance on Jay Leno´s "Tonight Show,´ President Obama made three factual gaffes; one of them involved the claim that cities not found along the Gulf of Mexico are. Were Obama a Republican, these gaffes would have led news coverage for the next forty-eight hours. Not only did most of the media ignore or downplay these gaffes; the Associated Press went so far as to cover one of them up. In its coverage Thursday, rather than point out the president´s geographical error, the wire service made it look as though no error was made.

In a story that has remained largely under the mainstream media radar, Congress announced late last month that it would finally investigate the Aug. 6, 2011 helicopter crash in Afghanistan that resulted in 38 deaths, including 22 members of SEAL Team 6, made famous three months earlier when they killed Osama Bin Laden. Grieving family members insist that soldiers in the elite unit were placed in unnecessary danger by the recklessness of the Obama administration, whose actions they characterized as criminal. “We’re going to dive into this,” said Rep. The taxpayer-supported Missouri State Fair is getting a lot of negative publicity in social media Sunday following a report of a shameful stunt that occurred Saturday night in Sedalia. (Snip) Basically, a clown wearing a mask of Obama came out during the bull riding event. The crowd was asked if it wanted to see Obama “run down by a bull. Things got worse from there." Things got worse from there, which doesn’t surprise me, given the anti-Obama feeling among many fairgoers from rural Missouri, where Obama lost to Mitt Romney (at least 60-40 percent in much of outlying parts of state)

But he also criticized what the campaign had initially wanted him to say in robocalls. “They gave me this most pathetic thing to say. I said,

During a press conference yesterday, President Obama revealed the existence of a sealed indictment in the Benghazi attacks in Libya on September 11, 2012, leaving some experts questioning whether the president broke the law. Federal law states that ´no person may disclose [a sealed] indictment´s existence,´ and that doing so may be ´punished as a contempt of court,´ a charge that carries a minimum sentence of six months prison. The announcement came as a surprise to some insiders, as the existence of a sealed indictment has not been publicly confirmed or denied by law enforcement or

Some people say that was not his birth certificate. I’m saying I don’t know. Nobody knows. And you don’t know, either, Jonathan. You’re a smart guy, you don’t know, either.” “I’m pretty convinced he was born in the United States,” Karl said.
