As soon as women have to sign up for Selective Service and also have the same PT requirements as men then I say ok...you could go through the entire stock of women in the US Army and MAYBE 50 of them could make a decent infantryman...it has to do with endurance and upperbody strength and the ability to kill another man at close quarters and possibly with your hands or a knife...both of which isn´t happening for women...I can´t birth a child...women make very for poor infantrymen...life´s tough...it is even tougher when your stupid

I guess Hegar doesn´t consider being a SAR helicopter pilot to be a combat slot. Out of the 4 plaintiffs; 3 are officers. Not unusual, since officers only rotate into combat units for 1 to 3 years.

NCO´s are there for the duration. I knew Ranger E6´s who couldn´t get out of the Regiment, and elected to leave active duty. Their marriages were shot, their kids didn´t know them, their lower back was weakening, and their knees had no cartilage left. But when it came time to re-enlist, they could only go to the Regiment or RTB. After 10 years in the Regiment, they needed a break.

So come on ladies; welcome to our world.

Just finished reading The Outpost. Let them all go, and enjoy what they´ve been missing. If someone else wants to fight for me, then maybe next they can pay my taxes. I´m liking this new America.

The French need to do some research. The purple heart signifies injury attributed to combat, nothing else. It has nothing to do with bravery in action, as evidenced by John Kerry, although anyone in combat demonstrates courage just by being there. There are other medals awarded for specific instances of bravery.

A few days of each month, it would be a war crime to loose these women against an enemy.

At least one of Kerry´s scratches (wounds?) was caused by himself, not an enemy. And there is doubt about the others, too.

When my husband was in Vietnam in 1964, 2 of his buddies got purple hearts for sitting in a bar in Siagon, when it was blown up by the VC, & they lost ear drums. Not all purple hearts are created equal, folks. As for women wanting to be in combat, how stupid, most men don´t want to be there.

Run these suing sisters through the ICU at Walter Reed or let them visit the wounded up on 4th floor. It clarifies the mind.

Please, form a unit, DON´T put a special designator on it, send it into combat and see what comes back.

Nothing less than the real world will teach these women anything.

Who knows? Put them in a fight and it might end that nonsense about women "fighting" for their civil rights.

A retired Naval officer buddy is mentoring another friend´s daughter who is an ensign in the Navy and currently on her first deployment. Figuring he´d be able to help out with her professional development, he told her to e-mail him with questions but more than half of the correspondence he receives concerns her inability to get along with her (female) Executive Officer. The old 2-women-under-the-same-roof scenario. He´s pulling his hair out.

We don´t use them in combat because it takes them too long to get ready.

Uhhhh... Didn´t I just read only 2 women showed up for these jobs? Let them... but make them back each other up...don´t put a serviceman with them, to take the heat.
