More than 30 years after the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, young people are again taking dangerous risks with their lives, according to a new report from the Centers for the Disease Control and Prevention. About 1,000 young people ages 13 to 24 are newly infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, each month, according to new data released for the first time. About 60% of HIV-positive young people have no idea that they´re infected, according to the report released Tuesday. Young people ages 13 to 24 account for more than a quarter of the 50,000 new HIV

If HIV-positive young people don´t know they´re infected, how does the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention know they´re infected? I´m not saying there isn´t a problem, I´m just wondering if these particular statistics have any scientific backing or if they´re more scare tactics to give the state more control over all of us.

The main cause of HIV infection among men is anal sex. Much smaller, but still the 2nd primary cause, is dirty IV needles.

Buried near the end is the only useful information; FTA: "Young gay and bisexual men, along with African Americans, are disproportionately affected. About 72% of new HIV infections in this age group occur in men who have sex with men, and 57% occur among African Americans, the CDC says."

Stay out of jail and prison, don´t get the AIDS. Or, if on the "down low" like the pResident and deluding one´s self that one is not homosexual, don´t assume immunity because the AIDS is a "white sissy disease."

Related note, ACLU is suing the state of Alabama for segregating HIV positive inmates from the general population.

A few weeks ago it was World Diabetes Day and the web was filled with scare stories about the millions of people who didn´t realize they had diabetes. Well, if these diabetics and their doctors were unaware, how did some world diabetes organization know?

I guess we´ll be seeing regular HIV articles over the next few months as everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

Since we know how it´s spread, and how to avoid contracting it, it really is difficult to have much sympathy for new cases. In the early 80´s, with the long incubation period, I felt sorry for the victims. Now, not so much.

The only people I feel sorry for getting AIDs in this day and age are women who are raped (especially those in third world countries like those in Africa and such where it is common). Otherwise, we have known for 30 years how it is transmitted and it is almost completely controllable by behavior.

Is there a person with an IQ above freezing that doesn´t know how AIDS is spread? Really? Why are they trying to make it seem that ´anybody´ can get AIDS? We all knew what caused it 30 or so years ago. What changed? Nothing. So now they embark in a propaganda campaign to 100% of the people instead of the 1% that need it. Why now? Probably the LBTG vote.

The CDC should track the carriers and warn the partners. Not too politically correct, I know. Don´t want that? Too bad. I´ve got no problem. We are all free to do what we want. When people choose drugs and anal sex it will cost us all. But, mostly them.

According to experts, a hard line is north of a red line, but south of the “unbelievably small strikes” that Kerry is fond of. It’s not clear what will happen when the “hard line” is crossed. It may involve… 1. A phone call from John Kerry to anyone in Russia who still takes his calls for laughs warning that Russia is on “the wrong side of history.” 2. Sanctions against the Deputy Under-Governor of Southern Siberia 3. An emergency shipment of 2,000 copies of “Dreams From My Father” to besieged Ukrainian soldiers Secretary of State John Kerry informed a group

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — The plane must be somewhere. But the same can be said for Amelia Earhart´s. Ten days after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared with 239 people aboard, an exhaustive international search has produced no sign of the Boeing 777, raising an unsettling question: What if the airplane is never found? Such an outcome, while considered unlikely by many experts, would certainly torment the families of those missing. It would also flummox the airline industry, which will struggle to learn lessons from the incident if it doesn´t know what happened. While rare nowadays, history is not short of

GENEVA - Russia signaled concern on Wednesday at Estonia´s treatment of its large ethnic Russian minority, comparing language policy in the Baltic state with what it said was a call in Ukraine to prevent the use of Russian. The southern Indian Ocean, where investigators suspect missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 may have come down, is one place where a commercial airliner can crash without a ship spotting it, a radar plotting it or even a satellite picking it up. The empty expanse of water is one of the most remote places in the world and also one of the deepest, posing potentially enormous challenges for the international search effort now refocusing on the area, one of several possible crash sites. At Obamacare enrollment events around the state, recruitment organizers emphasize the positive reasons for buying coverage on the insurance marketplace, like staying healthy and getting financial assistance to help pay their monthly premiums.
