I don´t believe that. Dems won the election for POTUS and gained seats in Congress (though not by much) DESPITE being the primary contributors to the debt. They had a lot of help from the media pointing fingers at the Republicans (who had very little control at the time).
However, I think politicians of both parties are guilty, though some more than others. Spending is the problem and all the talk about taxes is meaningless unless spending is brought under control. Democrats want to run the economy over the cliff at 95 mph, but Republican politicians can be big spenders as well (they only want to run over the cliff at 55 mph). The result is still going over the cliff.

The Fiscal Cliff (a recession plus possible debt downgrades) is just the natural outcome of the first 4 years of obama´s squandering of trillions of the nation´s capital along with a regulatory fervor to bring the country to its knees. The Republicans certainly didn´t direct this. They were just unable to stop it.
In the aftermath of the massive election fraud of Nov 6, the Republican brand is finished. With our current FEC (run by obama), I don´t believe that a Republican can ever be elected to the White House again. Same trend will move to Congress soon.
Our current GOP Congress should go out like men. No tax increases. Starve the beast. Let the chips fall.

French Chief Rabbi Gilles Bernheim handed in his resignation on Thursday after he admitted that he had committed plagiarism and claimed unearned academic titles, French newspaper Le Figaro reported. The board met in Paris to hear his decision, and lauded his decision as "courageous." Bernheim is usually introduced as an “agrégé,” a sort of “doctor,” a prestigious academic title obtained by civil servants in competitive tests. In Who’s Who, in biographies and in an official book of the Consistoire central des Juifs de France, which administers religious services, the title agrégé of philosophy always appears under Bernheim’s name.

Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.
