United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice will meet with senators on Capitol Hill Tuesday to answer questions about the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya. CBS News has learned her appearance will include a morning meeting with Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who has been among her biggest critics since her initial remarks on the attack. Rice has come under fire from Republicans for her initial account of the attack five days after it took place, when she suggested that there was no evidence the incident was an act of terrorism. On CBS News´ "Face the Nation,"

Here it comes. After their meeting that dirty traitor McCain will rush to the nearest TV cameras to proclaim that all is forgiven and that Rice would be the greatest Secretary of State since Jefferson. If you´re gonna puke don´t watch.

McCain cannot win by meeting with her in private. Make sure everything is well witnessed and recorded.

Even then media will still support her version of what occurs.

Better yet, don´t meet with her. She can testify in the proper open forum.

In a futile attempt to shake the charge of being a racist and a sexist, John McCain will be overly solicitous to Rice. He´ll ask 2 or 3 questions and then praise Rice for all the marvelous work she does as UN Ambassador. McCain would be unable to actually name any meaningful accomplishments of Rice, since there aren´t any. But John will get all gooey anyway.

To show her utter contempt for McCain, Rice will repeat the lie that she was simply providing "preliminary details" on Benghazi that were given to her by intelligence people. She will not identify who these people were. She will say that she never thought of questioning the nonsensical video claim. When pressed, she will say that the entire matter is under investigation, and that she hopes to see the report before Obama´s 2nd term expires. Meeting will conclude with photo op smiles and handshakes.

They have calculated (correctly) that McCain is the key to her (and Obama´s) path out of the Benghazi bungle. If there´s one thing that McCain craves more than life itself it´s to be seen as the bold and unpredictable conciliator between two seemingly irreconcilable positions. The problem though is that it is totally predictable, and he always flips to the other side´s irreconcilable position.

Guaranteed. He´ll back her. Many cool (liberal) party invitations to come.

Yep, you´ve all already summed it up:

Rice charms (or threatens) and McCave caves. And if he does, so will Ms. Lindsey.

Kelly Ayotte, however, may not. Rice can´t pull the ´´po´ black girl´´ schtick on Sen. Ayotte.

I predict the men will turn to A-#1 big fans of Ms. Rice, and push Ayotte out there for ´´balance.´´

At least, I can hope ONE OF THEM sees through the crapburger.

A gentleman always offers every assistance to a lady in distress. Just ask Sarah Palin.

Our courtly McPain will get to publicly preen his gentlemanly feathers today. Their meeting will go something like this:

"Benghazi? Raped and murdered ambassador? Tsk, tsk. My dear Ms Rice, life in politics is such an unpleasant thing sometimes. I was once a prisoner of war myself, you know. Oh yes. Perhaps our four dead Americans in Benghazi needed to hone their survival skills just a tad. Why yes, I would be charmed to attend your cocktail reception in January. How delightful! Oh, now would you look at that! Won´t you kindly permit me to escort you to the TV cameras awaiting our arrival outside?"

Barry himself said "she had absolutely nothing to do with Benghazi", so why did he send her to the 5 Sunday talk shows? Precisely because she is black and a woman. Therefore any criticism can instantly be blamed on the racist, misogynist, evil Republicans! (I have noticed she walks just like Rachel Maddow, so she might be a member of a third minority class also).

I am hoping the senators don´t let up on her, but my gut tells me otherwise. I am not letting myself get to personally caught up in this stuff so much anymore...still depressed, I guess.

They need to be inundated somehow and made to toe the line.

Why did Democrats applaud the loathsome community organizer Melowese Richardson, a freshly released, unrepentant voter fraud felon, at a recent "voting rights" rally in Ohio? Because, like Richardson, they believe they are entitled to vote more than once against a system they see as unjust. Some serial voters do what they do in order to exact revenge against a society they feel did them or their ancestors wrong. Richardson is far from alone. Double-voting is distressingly common. Many leftists have contempt for the electoral process because they don’t believe in the electoral system as it is constituted in capitalist America.

The agents were clearly visible on that recent afternoon, but the migrants were undeterred. Mainly women and children, 45 in all, they crossed the narrow river on the smugglers’ rafts, scrambled up the bluff and turned themselves in, signaling a growing challenge for the immigration authorities. After six years of steep declines across the Southwest, illegal crossings have soared in South Texas while remaining low elsewhere.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., has accused the panel´s top Democrat of prompting the Internal Revenue Service in 2012 to target a conservative organization applying for nonprofit status. Issa said records obtained last week from the IRS show communications from the office of ranking member Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., about True the Vote, a Texas-based, nonprofit conservative group that aims to prevent voter fraud. The communications at one point involved Lois Lerner, the ex-IRS official who Issa´s panel is poised to hold in contempt of Congress on Thursday for refusing to provide testimony about her

Attorney General Eric Holder strayed from prepared remarks to slam the way he was “treated” by a House committee the day before, calling it evidence of “ugly and divisive” civil rights challenges facing him and President Barack Obama. Speaking to the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network at its annual convention in New York on Wednesday, Holder talked about the state of civil rights today and brought up a House committee hearing Tuesday that grew contentious, according to video from Mediaite and reports from outlets including Capital New York. “The last five years have been defined by significant strides and

Barack Obama got quite the handful on Thursday, April 10, but it was all for a good cause! As the President of the United States was boarding Air Force One with his wife Michelle Obama, a gust of wind blew up her skirt. Barack quickly stepped in and grabbed the First Lady´s billowing skirt to help her avoid a wardrobe malfunction and embarrassing Marilyn Monroe moment. Earlier in the week, another famous lady on the global stage suffered a similar snafu, but no one was around to help her -- not even her prince!

A new review is questioning the effectiveness of two key drugs enlisted in the fight against influenza and in turn the investments by governments to stockpile the drugs in the event of a global flu outbreak. The antiviral drugs Tamiflu (oseltamivir) and Relenza (zanamivir ) are commonly used to treat influenza in healthy adults and children. In the case of Tamiflu, the drug does shorten symptoms of influenza by about half a day - as the manufacturer suggests - but there is insufficient evidence to support claims that it reduces hospital admissions or serious complications, such as confirmed pneumonia or

Although the news media and Hollywood relish telling stories about horrific crimes and serial killers, they are strangely silent about Dr. Kermit Gosnell, an abortionist who killed living, viable babies by snipping their spinal cords with scissors, and who is “America’s most prolific serial killer,” said actor Kevin Sorbo and his wife Sam Jenkins in a video to promote funding for a movie about Gosnell. “Kermit Gosnell is America’s most prolific serial killer,” says Kevin Sorbo, who starred in the TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. “For more than three decades he was an abortion doctor in Philadelphia, where he

Eric Holder ventured off script in a speech Wednesday to the National Action Network, the organization led by MSNBC host and recently-exposed FBI informant Al Sharpton. “I’m pleased to note that the last five years have been defined by significant strides and by lasting reforms,” said Holder at the conference of black activists, before improvising “even in the face, even in the face, of unprecedented, unwarranted, ugly, and divisive adversity.” “If you don’t believe that, if you look at the way, forget about me, forget about me, if you look at the way the attorney general of the United States was treated

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) could face up to five years in federal prison for obstructing a Congressional proceeding. On Wednesday, Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) and five Subcommittee Chairmen on the committee sent a letter to Ranking Member Cummings demanding an explanation for his staff’s queries from the IRS, why the Minority hid these efforts from the Majority, and why the Ranking Member denied such actions by his staff at a February Subcommittee hearing: “Although you have previously denied that your staff made inquiries to the IRS about conservative organization True the Vote that may have led to additional

Big Government: As students flood Twitter with images of inedible slop, it´s clear that Michelle Obama´s government school lunch revamp is a costly failure. It´s time to get the feds out of kids´ lunch boxes. The $12 billion federal student lunch program, which serves 30.7 million kids, is losing participants fast — more than a million just last year, according to a recent Government Accountability Office report. The reason: the first lady´s Healthy Hunger-free Kids Act, an act that has accomplished exactly the opposite of what it claimed it would — leaving hungry, angry, disgusted kids and dumpsters full of wasted

Solar power has won the global argument. Photovoltaic energy is already so cheap that it competes with oil, diesel and liquefied natural gas in much of Asia without subsidies. Roughly 29pc of electricity capacity added in America last year came from solar, rising to 100pc even in Massachusetts and Vermont.[Snip] The technology is improving so fast--helped by the US military--that it has achieved a virtous circle. Michael Parker and Flora Chang, at Sanford Bernstein, say we entering a new order of "global energy deflation" that must ineluctably erode the viability of oil, gas and the fossil fuel nexus over time.

On Wednesday, the House Ways and Means Committee voted to refer former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution. By a vote of 23 to 14, a closed-door session of the House committee determined that Lerner’s role in the alleged singling out of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status for undue scrutiny was a criminal act. The vote was “just another attempt by Republicans to vilify Ms. Lerner for political gain,” according to the ex-IRS official’s attorney, William Taylor. In spite of the fact that the DOJ has already been investigating both Lerner and the alleged
