My doctor asked if I had gotten a flu shot . I said no. The obamacare latop automatically made an appointment for me to get one. I said no thanks and the doc deleted it.

While I detest government intrusion, a flu shot is one of the best investments there is.

I get them most years but sometimes miss them.....if their health is so important, why doesn´t TriHealth put cameras in their bedrooms and fire anyone who engages in unprotected anal intercourse? I know this is indelicate, but the costs and dangers of HIV transmission are extreme. And while they are at it, why don´t they install MicheleCams in the kitchen and monitor their employees´ diets? Why stop there? Why not micromanage every aspect of their employees´ lives?

There are always side effects. That´s why you have to sign your rights away when you get one.

There are certain fields where you have no choice about medical prevention efforts. I can remember being required to be treated for exposure to whooping cough and tuberculosis when I worked in a school setting. I also remember required anthrax vaccines for the military when they went to Iraq. The sense of the article is that the employees will be allowed back to work after they get the immunization.

Over the years Walter Williams, when substituting on Rush, has eloquently commented on this: First it starts with where one can smoke, then that one MUST wear a seat belt, then recycling nonsense in the name of some abstract, generic notion "for the environment" ,also what kids should and should not be eating at school, then there´s the whole TSA absurdity going on at airports etc., etc. and on and on it goes. So this can only have been expected and as gooberment gains more control of healthcare expect more and more intrusive demands and requirements.

Let us not forget that Justice Roberts´ opportunity to put the breaks on this healthcare idiocy but instead he chose to put the pedal to the floor! He absolutely disgusts me!

I never get a flu shot, my wife gets one every year. She occasionally gets the flu, I rarely do. I´ll pass.

The death of the comma? U.S.
academic claims punctuation mark

It is one of the most common - albeit, ineptly used - elements of the English language. Now, an American academic has suggested that the comma could be abolished as a punctuation mark. Professor John McWhorter claims removing commas from most modern U.S. texts would cause ´little loss of clarity´ - meaning they may now be in a state of obsolescence. He adds that internet users are becoming increasingly carefree in their use of the punctuation mark - with some professional writers following suit, according to The Times. ´[You] could take them out of a great deal of modern American

LONDON - Stronger winds which have cooled the surface of the Pacific Ocean could explain what is likely to be a temporary slowdown in the pace of global warming this century, researchers said. Last year, scientists on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the pace of temperature rise at the Earth´s surface had slowed over the past 15 years, even though greenhouse gas emissions, widely blamed for causing climate change, have risen steadily. (Snip) "This hiatus could persist for much of the present decade if the trade winds trends continue, however, rapid warming is expected to resume once

SAN ANTONIO — We recommend incumbent John Cornyn for the GOP´s U.S. Senate nomination, based on unmatched experience and decades of service to Texas. The theme among a bevy of challengers seems to be that Cornyn is a CINO, a conservative in name only. This is not just counter-intuitive but counter-factual. Various ratings — liberal and conservative — have agreed on one thing, Cornyn´s conservative credentials are genuine. Not conservative? Cornyn is No. 2 in Senate leadership and diverged only slightly from the conservative playbook in a year in which he offered a measure that would further beef up security at the

Democrats from President Obama on down have been touting Obamacare´s sign-up numbers. Even after the system´s disastrous rollout, they like to point out, roughly three million people have signed up for private insurance, while 6.3 million have signed up for Medicaid. "Already, because of the Affordable Care Act, more than nine million Americans have signed up for private health insurance or Medicaid coverage," Obama said in the State of the Union speech. "Nine million." (Snip) But there is strong new evidence to suggest the administration's claims are grossly exaggerated and deeply misleading. Obamacare is not doing nearly as well as the

Incredible how Fox News Corp. talking head Bill O’Reilly—America’s biggest, television talking head who’s out there professing “Obama’s not a bad guy”—thinks he can get away with ‘pin-heading’ John Boehner for “pandering to radio talk show hosts” on amnesty. Guess bloviating Bill never takes the time to tune in to radio talk show hosts where John Boehner has been persona non grata for some time. Boehner finds no comfortable quarters from radio talk show giants Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity or Mark Levin, who continue to castigate the guy who’s a dead ringer for the cowardly lion in the Wizard of

Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, is also heir to the sort of mush-headed liberalism that permeates high society on both sides of the Atlantic. Accordingly, he has thrown his lot in with the warmists (snip)Recently His Royal Highness committed a major faux pas by injecting himself into the political debate, and he has been called out by the one man with the intellectual AND social standing to do so. And a major plus is that he has the wit to perform this necessary task with devastating effectiveness. As many readers may have already guessed, that man is Christopher

Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham battled the rest of the Fox News Sunday panel over immigration, arguing that immigration reform and current enforcement of immigration laws were weakening the American workforce, even as her fellow panelists countered that reform would bolster the economy. “I think what we’re seeing here is a split inside the Republican Party between two staunch conservatives,” host Chris Wallace said, going on to ply Ingraham with a Wall Street Journal editorial that called flinching on reform “de facto amnesty.” “As far as I can tell, the Wall Street Journal is on the side of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer,

Count Polly Lower among those who quit their jobs because of the health-care law. It happened in September, when her boss abruptly changed her job description. She went from doing payroll, which she liked, to working on her boss’s schedule, which she loathed. At another time, she might have had to grit her teeth and accept the new position because she needed the health benefits. But with the health-care law soon to take effect, she simply resigned — and hasn’t looked back. “It was wonderful. It was very freeing,” said Lower, 56, of Bourbon, Ind., who is now babysitting her

Even nearly three years out, it’s become “common knowledge” which has been repeated by more folks than you can count. (Including yours truly) Hillary Clinton is going to run for President. How could she not? And assuming she does, she will most certainly win the Democrat nomination. On top of that, she will present a daunting challenge to the GOP candidate, no matter whether the nominee is “establishment” or “grassroots” or from the Planet Ork. But I’m seeing an increasing amount of speculation that perhaps the conventional wisdom is neither. Does she want to spend two more years on the

It was one of the most coveted gifts of the festive period and turned up under thousands of Christmas trees last year. But now parents have hit out at popular must-have toy the Furby Boom after it emerged that some of the creatures have developed “inappropriate” second personalities which have upset their children. The Furby, an electronic robotic toy which requires children to talk to and stroke it, as well as feed and put it to sleep, was a major hit when makers Hasbro relaunched the 1990s classic last year. The cute creation made it into the toy hit lists

The emergence of Twitter as a social media goliath has unleashed gossip and speculation as a media force. The long term consequences are unknowable, but in the meantime, with a far left president with a dicey past, it is producing some highly amusing results. Last night, President Obama explained to Bob Costas of NBC Sports why he wasn´t attending the Sochi Olympics, but the substance of what he had to say was lost in the controversy that erupted on Twitter over whether or not he was stoned. Yahoo writer Mike Oz took the high road, as would nearly any journalist, and described the president as looking "sleepy."

The Justice Department on Monday will instruct all of its employees across the country, for the first time, to give lawful same-sex marriages sweeping equal protection under the law in every program it administers, from courthouse proceedings to prison visits to the compensation of surviving spouses of public safety officers. In a new policy memo, the department will spell out the rights of same-sex couples, including the right to decline to give testimony that might incriminate their spouses, even if their marriages are not recognized in the state where the couple lives. Under the Justice Department policy, federal inmates in
