They can jump the shark all they want to now - the MSM, being one with Obama, won the election. The fact is, they can lie, slander, libel, and criminally cover-up to their heart´s delight, for the simple reason that they are allowed to do so by the GOP. Dishonest propaganda for a political party, when advertised as objective news, is not freedom of speech, it is false advertising. Blaming Sarah Palin for the Tucson shooting is not freedom of speech, it is libel. But the GOP is too timid to prosecute the MSM for their crimes, so the MSM rightly takes that as a license to continue. And continue to win elections for the Left. It´s really not their fault, it´s the fault of those who grant them legal immunity.

I haven´t seen any fact checkers check into Obama´s 5 million new jobs claim.I have no clue on what´s counted as a new job vs. business just hiring a replacement for a fired or quit employee.I guess any job now that doesn´t require vast sums of energy is considered a "green" job whether it has to do with actual production of green energy.Not consuming energy counts as producing carbon free energy,even though people have to breathe out carbon dioxide.

Mass transportation was supposed to be a huge leg of green energy.Never mind that whenever someone steps on a train it costs taxpayers money.There´s legs of Amtrak that have pretty good capacity everyday but still lose money. Obama´s bullet train dreams have been rejected by even other leftists who don´t want to get stuck with eventual revenue shortfalls.Amtrak can´t even manage it´s vending business.

The left really wants meters in cars so if you exceed their opinion of driving too much,they can slap you with a surcharge.

Fewer people polled trust the media than congress. They don´t care what anybody says anymore because they´ve thrown in the towel. They´re admitting they´re too stupid to know what´s true and right...they just know for a fact they need money so they think they voted for it.

This is a really old article, written prior to the election, even if it was just "posted." FTA, "...whether this summer is remembered as the moment when the mainstream media jumped the shark may be answered on November 6." Maybe Taranto reposted to show how prescient he was. Not sure, but it´s all about Paul Ryan who has pretty much become invisible. What is interesting is to consider how successful the media was at completely marginalizing a formidable young conservative - before the election and now.

History..facts..is written by the victors so they won´t be JumpingtheShark they will cuddled up and sleeping with it....you can expect the minions to try and devour any that doesn´t tow their line.....

Rush said one time that the media loves to tear down what it has built up. That is why he never has sought their approval in any way. If this is true though, the fall from grace for this president is going to be a looloo.

The press gave up any pretext of bias and worked overtime lying and covering up for Obama specifically and socialist democrats in general. The electorate bought it hook line and sinker. We have the first president elected through nothing but lies, distortions and cover-ups, while the press high fives themselves in back slapping self congratulations.

This is a good critique of "fact checkers". I wish I had a dollar for every fact check story I read that sounded like:"{GOP politician} is correct, but..." followed by a conclusion that the statement was not factual.
