The ‘new’ Egypt
News International [Pakistan], by Editorial

Original Article

To find the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton publicly praise the man currently leading Egypt – an Islamist who has not found favour in high places previously – comes as a considerable surprise. But praise President Mohamed Morsi she did for his considerable efforts in brokering a ceasefire between the Israelis and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Morsi has long been a supporter of Hamas, which is viewed as a terrorist organisation by both Israel and the US. It is a mark of just how much has changed in the Middle East in the last two years that not only is he the democratically elected president

Comments:
Egypt needs hard cash from the IMF & "brokering" the ceasefire with Hillary should help. However, a wise GOP should recognize that Hamas is the Palestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood [both denoted terrorist organizations], which Mosri came to power under.

No IMF money to the Muslim Brotherhood [Morsi], ever. This editorial seems to elude to the fact that the fighting in Gaza may have been timed and staged for Hillary to eventually show up and thereby prop up Morsi to look good to the IMF. The plots we weave...

Isn´t Huma Abedin Hilary´s "special" friend and isn´t she the Muslim Brotherhood´s agent at State?
Remember when Hilary kissed Suha Arafat?
Where is all the money donate to the Palestinians?
Hamas is a terrorist organization supported by Obama and Hilary.

The GOP should be attacking Hillary relentlessly to discourage any thoughts of her making a run for POTUS in 2016.

Clinton´s praise is not surprising. Just look at her masters and realize the similarity between morsi, clinton and obama. Probably one of the more visual differences is that morsi would require a veiled clinton.

Donald Trump loves it when the media talks about him, so perhaps it should come as no surprise that he let BuzzFeed writer McKay Coppins trail him for 36 hours for a profile that ended up being focused on Trump’s delusions of political grandeur. (Snip) The notion that he is simply too big — too presidential — for a measly job in the Albany Statehouse has temporarily quelled his insecurity. But after this morning, Trump can no longer escape the fact that his political “career” — a long con that the blustery billionaire has perpetrated on the country for 25 years by repeatedly pretending to consider various runs for office, only to bail

In the mid-20th century, in response to the United States’ rapidly expanding telephone network, executives at the Bell System introduced a new way of dialing the phone. Until then, for the most part, it was human operators—mostly women—who had directed calls to their destinations. Dialing systems had reflected this reliance on the vocal cord. Phone numbers weren’t numbers; they were alphanumeric addresses, named after phone exchanges that encompassed particular geographic areas. The Elizabeth Taylor movie Butterfield 8 gets its name from that system: The Butterfield exchange served the tony establishments of Manhattan´s

Brussels - Belgian lawmakers have voted overwhelmingly to extend the country´s euthanasia law to children under the age of 18. The 86-44 vote in the House of Representatives, on Thursday, with 12 abstentions, followed approval by the senate in December. The law lifts Belgium´s age restrictions on euthanasia and can sanction it where children have a terminal and incurable illness, are near death, and suffering "constant and unbearable physical" pain, and where parents and professionals agree to the choice. The law was opposed by some Belgian paediatricians and the country´s leading Roman Catholic cleric. The law will come into

Washington - Financial markets were watching, the retirement accounts of millions of Americans on the line. Nervous senators were watching too, well aware that political fortunes could be on the line. So on perhaps the most important vote of the year, the Senate did something extraordinary this week: It tried to keep the vote tally secret until the outcome was assured. As lawmakers voted Wednesday on must-pass legislation to increase the government´s debt limit, they dropped the parliamentary equivalent of a curtain on the voting as it was in progress. Typically, roll-call votes in the Senate play out in a very public manner.

Washington - Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York, offered a long-shot option on Thursday to revive the moribund effort to overhaul the nation’s immigration laws that would require the support of more than a dozen House Republicans — and, if nothing else, pressure others to act on an election-year issue that Tea Party-aligned members strongly oppose. The legislative maneuver, known as a discharge petition, would allow supporters of overhauling the nation’s immigration laws to circumvent the Republican majority in the House by bringing the measure directly to the House floor, bypassing the regular committee process.

The country’s biggest conservative political organization announced Wednesday that it was diving into a bitter Republican primary in Michigan, its first such intervention into the broader battle between GOP-leaning business groups and Tea Party conservatives. (Snip) But the decision to get into a hotly contested primary on behalf of one of the most aggressive lawmakers hints at the delicate line the group is trying to walk: to maintain its credibility with other conservatives seeking to reshape the Republican Party without committing itself to an expensive internecine struggle that could endanger its chances of retaking the Senate this year.

New York - A new study has added to growing evidence that yearly mammogram screenings do not reduce the chance that a woman will die of breast cancer and confirms earlier findings that many abnormalities detected by these X-rays would never have proved fatal, even if untreated. The research, published on Wednesday in the British Medical Journal, is the latest salvo in a decades-long debate over the benefit of mammograms. The 25-year study of 89,835 women in Canada, aged 40 to 59, randomly assigned the volunteers to receive either annual mammograms plus physical breast exams or physical exams alone.

Famed former CNN host Larry King said he has never heard of Juanita Broaddrick Thursday in an interview with Steve Malzberg on Newsmax TV. Broadrrick, a former Arkansas nursing home worker, accused President Clinton of raping her during the late 1970s in a 1998 Dateline interview. Malzberg was describing a double standard of media coverage during the 2012 conventions, noting left wing pundits dubbed the GOP convention a “convention of rapists” while remaining silent on President Clinton’s keynote address despite sexual assault allegations directed against the former president. CHATTANOOGA, TENN. — The UAW suffered a devastating defeat at Volkswagen’s plant here as workers rejected union representation by a 712-626 margin. The defeat, which came despite Volkswagen’s neutrality, tarnishes UAW President Bob King’s legacy and could make it next to impossible for the union to extend its reach beyond domestic automakers.
“While we certainly would have liked a victory for workers here, we deeply respect the Volkswagen Global Group Works Council, Volkswagen management and (German union) IG Metall for doing their best to create a free and open atmosphere for workers to exercise their basic human right to form a union,” King said in a statement.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was in direct contact with President Barack Obama at least 18 times between October 2012 and October 2013, including seven occasions where her draft calendar showed Obamacare as the topic of conversation. The news appears to contradict her insistence that Obama was in the dark about problems plaguing the ill-fated healthcare.gov website in the months leading up to its October 1, 2013 launch. The Hill newspaper reported Thursday that documents released through a Freedom of Information Act request show meetings, events and phone calls where the two were together. They also show at

In a segment on last night’s Hardball with Chris Matthews, political commentator and prodigal GOP son Ron Reagan called out Sen. Ted Cruz’s latest filibustering of a Senate bill to increase the debt ceiling as self-destructive maneuver that achieved nothing — except, perhaps, hastened the destruction of the GOP. “What exactly was on Ted Cruz’s mind?” a boggled Reagan asked. “What was he thinking of in terms of his Senate colleagues? At least every week now, there is a new story supporting the narrative of an inevitable 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential bid. Indeed, the conventional wisdom is that it is an absolute certainty that she will run. If anyone is currently saying, flat out, that Hillary isn´t running, I haven´t come across them. Is the inevitability of her run really as certain as the conventional wisdom suggests, and further, is it unfolding in an optimal manner for the potential candidate? In all likelihood, Clinton will not make a final, "go-or-no-go" decision until early next year, after the dust has settled from

The school of literary criticism known as reception theory holds that a text should be studied in light of its effect on its contemporaries, that a reader should be aware of the “horizon of expectations” in which a text is produced. I was reminded of this the other day as I observed, in amusement, fascination, and occasional pity, the reaction of the so-called mainstream media to Alana Goodman’s lengthy and rock-solid report on “The Hillary Papers.” This trove of previously unexamined transcriptions of conversations between Hillary Clinton and her best friend Diane Blair had been collecting dust at the University
