Why Orca is innocent, and
no one wants to talk about it

Daily Caller [Washington DC], by Christopher Bedford

Original Article

When Mitt Romney lost the presidency to Barack Obama, Republicans, pundits and the blogosphere went wild, lashing out in all directions until they struck ORCA — a high-tech get-out-the-vote (GOTV) effort that crashed on Election Day. For the past two weeks, ORCA and everyone involved have been pummeled mercilessly, but we’re here to tell you that ORCA — though poorly executed and wasteful — is innocent. And that’s not because someone isn’t guilty. The fact is, ORCA has been publicly executed because someone — actually, a lot of someones — are very, very guilty. So let’s begin this sordid tale

A simple way to take away the advantage of the left and if corporations do not want a socialist country is to follow Mitt Romney´s lead and be less greedy as in his service goals and finding $250 Million to be sufficient.

IOW, pay the worki8ng poor more and the working non poor more and food stamps and HEAT programs would not be necessary for the middle class. It ain´t trickling down fast enough and the CEOs are driven enough to work for less. It is their country too.

Trickle down fiscal model could be based on a flawed formula so a Harvard Professor named Christensen says on Big Think website.

The answer to gov giveaway is so simple that noone will buy it. Henry Ford would have.

The gist of the article is that robocalls don´t work. I agree. I voted against Romney in the primary precisely because there were so many robocalls from his campaign. It got really annoying. I know when election day is. I haven´t been in a coma for the last 4 years.

Money and organization by the professional political class are no substitute for a genuine message articulated by a credible messenger.

Somehow, the T party got it done in 2010 without the help of all these professionals.

Ignore the bitter clingers at your own political peril. Time for the liberal republicans to shut up, get in the back seat and let some conservatives drive for a change. We don´t need a flashlight and a mirror.

Since Daily Caller took so much time to look into the non-ORCA story, I wonder if they will take time to look into voter fraud? I still find some (not all) of the turnout for Obama to be very suspect.

I don´t buy it. Orca was a piece of junk. People were trying to volunteer for Romney and nobody ever called them back. They could have made a difference. The Romney team was sure that all it took was Orca and never mind those pesky volunteers. Well, we got the result we got.

No more Orca.

Lots of words wasted to protect the folks responsible for ORCA. I experienced it and it totally failed. I don´t know who´s feeding this guy a load of BS but ORCA was supposed to do more than just limit who got a robo-call. If that was the goal, it was idiotic from the get-go.

I was involved in ORCA...the conception was fine, the execution awful. There was no coordination with state party officials (at least in Pennsylvania, and my wife is a local county chairman, so I know this for a fact). I was unable to login from the very beginning (6 am, election day) so the idea that it broke down later on was not so. If calling for legal aid was to work, which was supposedly an important component of the program, why wasn´t it working in Philadelphia?

I agree with whoever it was who said that when Romney took the primary from Rick Perry by outdoing him in harshness on Latinos, that is when his campaign developed a crack in its appeal that it never could repair. Yes there was cheating; there always is; see life of Abraham Lincoln for examples of the GOP doing it right from the beginning. Yes the African-American community voted for one of their own in mass numbers - see, e.g., JFK and the Catholic vote. There wasn´t any value in fighting the Latinos, except to win the primary. Then we all had to live with that. BTW, Mexican view is that Mexican democracy was derailed 100 years ago approx. by interference from US Masons. True? don´t know. Moral: a lack of commitment to immigration laws against Latinos does not necessarily flout the justice of God.

sorry for 2nd post but my guess is Obama will betray Latino hopes for immigration reform, because fact is they´re Catholic and his base is anti-Catholic and doesn´t want their votes here. BUT he will if he can blame the betrayal on the GOP, in which case we get the worst of everything, losing these good voters who should be us, and taking the wrath of their relatives and many, many, many good friends.

This article rings true. I´m a veteran of GOTV efforts for Republican candidates for two decades now. This year I couldn´t participate (beyond donating $), but I heard about Orca ... and I heard about Narwhal.

The writer is correct: Orca itself is not to blame, but rather our traditional GOTV effort that is now obsolete.

The Dems GOTV machine was vastly different from Orca. First, it has been operating much longer. The Chicago team has been running a perpetual campaign for the last 5-6 years, and their technological efforts (dubbed Narwhal) involved sophisticated data mining to target potential voters who were weak, but leaning toward Obama.

Some of these weakly Dem voters were "indentified" through high-tech snooping, e.g. through Facebook. Others were simply rounded up the old-fashioned way --e.g. by scooping up "homeless" people or Somali immigrants, bribing them with goodies, and busing them off to "early voting" centers.

And all of this was made possible by those "early voting" periods in some states. Early voting allowed Dems to stretch out their GOTV campaign efforts.

Republicans were too proud to manipulate the early voting process the way the Chicago team did. We focused our hopes on turnout on election day. This was a huge mistake. Republicans might never bribe voters like Dems do ... but we are going to have to look into identifying our weaker voters, and getting them to the polls early. That is what made the difference this year.

For a family that has been vocal about disliking the media, the Palins sure have participated in a fair amount of TV shows. Continuing that tradition, Sarah Palin stars in “Amazing America with Sarah Palin,” premiering Thursday night on the Sportsman Channel. The docu-series follows the former Alaska governor/vice presidential candidate around the country as she and a crew explore “people, places and pastimes connected to America’s outdoor lifestyle.” This is just the latest in a long line of TV shows for the Palins — perhaps not unexpectedly, several have had their share of controversy attached. Suddenly the subject of income inequality has turned into a global love train. Politicians and public-policy shops all over the world are hopping onboard. Naturally the engineer is Barack Obama, who gives speeches on income inequality and won a presidential election by rolling over 1% of the population. Democrats in this year´s midterm elections are running on income inequality, and this is rational. Their alternatives don´t look attractive, despite ObamaCare´s seven million recruits. Less obvious is the linkage being made now between global warming and—what else?—income inequality. Or that the International Monetary Fund is moving income inequality to the top of

With the April 2 shooting at Ft. Hood--the second such shooting at that base in five years--it is important to remember that military gun-free zones were implemented under President Bill Clinton. As Breitbart News reported on September 17--the day after Aaron Alexis opened fire on unarmed personnel in the gun-free DC Navy Yard--military bases became gun free zones just months into Clinton´s presidency. To be fair, the original directive (5210.56) relating to military gun-free zones was issued during the last months of President George H.W. Bush´s presidency. Then, an implementing regulation (AR 190-14)--which clarified and revised 5210.56--was issued just months
