For Fourth Straight Year, Obama´s Thanksgiving Message Doesn´t Thank God

| Yet again, President Obama’s Thanksgiving message eschewed any direct reference to thanking God, making this the fourth straight year in which the President of the United States has ignored the central message of the holiday in favor of political grandstanding. This year, Obama’s central message was that now that he’s been re-elected, Americans should agree with all of his policies. His unity routine sounds strangely empty after a campaign in which he focused on dividing Americans: But most of all, it’s a time to give thanks for each other, and for the incredible bounty we enjoy.

Obama is so proud of all HIS accomplishments. HE feels no need to thank any God for anything. HE has not yet seen the hand writing on the wall. I hope it happens in public so we can watch and laugh as he craps his pants.

Years ago, I was visiting the family of my fiance, and his mother made me feel most unwelcome. This woman was driving us to a shop in her car and was carrying on in a horribly unpleasant manner. She got out of the car, stepped on a rock, and broke her foot. I thought to myself, "There is a God." (Soon after, I broke the engagement and met a wonderful Christian man who is the love of my life.)
That "bolt of lightening" is long overdue to The Won who mocks God.

I noticed that after reading his statement. His only reference to God was regarding hurricane Sandy, when he said, "There but for the grace of God Go I", another example of his utter preoccupation with himself.
So our Christian President is a godless one, unless he is talking about "slandering the Prophet", at which time he gets particularly exercised.

I could not believe it yesterday when one of the pastors of a conservative Christian church of which I´m a member actually read Obama´s Thanksgiving proclamation from the pulpit. Why not Lincoln´s instead, or one from another president who actually mentioned Jesus Christ and our heavenly Father as those to whom we should give thanks? When the churches go this way, then you know that all is lost until He comes in judgment.

#18 – The idiom, “There but for the grace of God go I,” is a well-intentioned expression of one’s appreciation for God’s saving grace in protecting that individual from harm; however, the phrase carries with it an unintended, subtle suggestion that the individual(s) upon whom tragedy had befallen are the recipients of God’s punishment.

It still stings, but I know that God is in control and watching over us very carefully. For whatever reason, God has given us Obama for four more years, and one day we will know why. I trust Him to bring good out of this mess we´re in right now.
Meanwhile, the "Golden Calf" worshipers should pony up and pay for his inauguration expenses. They can sell their Obamaphones and send in the proceeds.

Actually, she is backing off. Here’s the thing about her now-famous MSNBC promo: Either she’s saying something radical or she’s saying something so banal that it’s barely even worth saying. The radical interpretation is that she thinks parents should have less say over how their children are raised and that “communities” should have a larger role. The very, very banal interpretation is that she thinks communities should do more to improve children’s lives and that thinking of them as “our children” might help forge that mentality. The money line in the promo that pointed to the radical interpretation

Richard Pollack at the Washington Examiner reports on a painless way to handle sequester costs -- cut out the unnecessary duplicative federal programs: Duplicative drug abuse and treatment services are strewn over 76 federal programs. Housing services are spread across 20 different agencies. Renewable energy projects go through 23 federal agencies and 130 sub-agencies. Even federal catfish inspections are done by three different agencies. These are only a few of 162 examples identified by the U.S. Government Accountability Office, a congressional watchdog agency, of fragmented, duplicative federal programs and services.

WASHINGTON- Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says he wants U.S. military law changed so senior commanders can´t overturn courts-martial verdicts in major crimes such as rape. Hagel said the Pentagon´s top lawyers would prepare legislation for Congress that would strip commanders´ power to toss out convictions, "except for certain minor offenses that would not ordinarily warrant trial by court-martial." Convicted defendants still would be able to appeal their cases. But in a move berated by advocacy groups for military sexual-assault victims, Hagel also said he would recommend commanders retain the power to alter courts-martial sentences,

If presidential politics ever involved time travel, President Obama might be in a little trouble. If an election between Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama were held today, 58% would vote for Reagan over Obama, according to a survey of 1,000 Americans age 18 and older conducted by Kelton Research for the National Geographic Channel. Though when the field is narrowed to people ages 18-34 -- those either too young to have known Reagan as president or too young to remember much -- the gap shrinks to 51% in favor of Reagan.

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Margaret Thatcher had more impact on the world than any woman ruler since Catherine the Great of Russia. Not only did she turn around—decisively—the British economy in the 1980s, she also saw her methods copied in more than 50 countries. "Thatcherism" was the most popular and successful way of running a country in the last quarter of the 20th century and into the 21st. Her origins were humble. Born Oct. 13, 1925, she was the daughter of a grocer in the Lincolnshire town of Grantham. Alfred Roberts was no ordinary shopkeeper.
