Jockeying under way to
replace Rep. Jackson Jr.

Associated Press, by Staff

Chicago - The jockeying to replace Jesse Jackson Jr. began before the ink was dry on the former congressman’s resignation letter. (Snip) But as the field of would-be successors grows to a dozen or more names — one of whom may be another member of the Jackson family — party leaders and political analysts say a stampede of candidates could pose risks for the Democratic stronghold. Spread the field of candidates too thin, they say, and it becomes easier for a more conservative candidate — or anyone else party leaders don’t want — to pull off a win. The possibility so worried Democratic Congressman

Comments:
The dRATS stronghold in Chicago afraid of the Tea Party? Please. A criminal hiding out in a psych ward for five months was overwhelmingly reelected to Congress. How could the opposition possibly lose a special election? Don´t they still have control of the voting machines?

To the highest bidder! Perhaps they should put it up for grabs in the State Lotto game. I´d buy a ticket for a buck to get a fantastic free ride, high paying job, perks out the wazoo and lifetime pension with full, top notch medical care- free! And, obviously, any idiot is qualified for the job. You can even be certifiably insane! The "job" can be performed to the full satisfaction of the voters, regardless of mental condition.

I remember it distinctly. Rahm wasn´t all that popular for choice of mayor in Chicago until he came out for reparations and almost overnight,he shot to the top and eventually won easily.

The writer of this article is on some serious drugs if he thinks a moderate type can sneak in and win this seat. It´ll actually be the opposite, the most radical loudmouth.

These voters really don´t have time or sense to distinguish between 12 people who are philosophically the same.So it´ll be personality or a champion of victimization.

But these offers, known as pension advances, are having devastating financial consequences for a growing number of older Americans, threatening their retirement savings and plunging them further into debt. The advances, federal and state authorities say, are not advances at all, but carefully disguised loans that require borrowers to sign over all or part of their monthly pension checks. They carry interest rates that are often many times higher than those on credit

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons released its latest cosmetic and resconstructive surgery statistics on Monday. Many of the trends were familiar. In all, the group reported, Americans underwent 1.6 million cosmetic surgeries, including face-lifts, liposuction and rhinoplasty; 13 million minimally invasive procedures (think Botox injections) and 5.6 million reconstructive procedures (including tumor removal and scar revision). People in the U.S. spent $11 billion on the cosmetic procedures alone. Once again, for the seventh year in a row, breast augmentation was the most popular form of cosmetic surgery, with 286,000 operations performed.
