Mommy´s girl grown up:
How Malia Obama has blossomed
from an awkward teen to
America´s next style icon as she
follows in the First Lady´s footsteps

Daily Mail (UK), by Staff

Looking every bit as poised and elegant as her mother, the long-limbed first daughter has taken the awkward out of adolescence with ease. In the weeks since election night, the emerging styles of the Obama daughters, and especially Malia, has taken center stage - the 14-year-old blossoming from the President´s wide-eyed ´baby´ into a self-assured young woman who has inherited her mother´s confidence, bold fashion sense and looks. Wearing a shiny blue full skirt from ASOS with a neon pink Zara belt, and J. Crew flats, Malia proved she has inherited her mother´s classic but bold sensibility

Methinks a vomit alert would not be inappropriate on this one.

It always amazes me how the left turn their politicians into rock stars, or demi-gods. They worship every hair on their heads, never hold them accountable for anything.

Fine.

Now we gotta put up with four more years of not only being bedazzled by Michelle My Belle Obama´s high-priced coutiere, but we gotta hear about the kid´s expensive tastes as well.

Too bad they aren´t paying for their $800 sneakers and $3500 dresses, or they might single-handedly do more for economic growth than hubby/daddy ever would do.

For those of you out there who think it is wrong to attack some young teen because the White House, probably at the instructions of Mama 0bama, put Malia in our face by claiming both have the real style sense that we should follow, you´re wrong. I have no problem with family pics and portraits, but saying she is a role model to young girls because of her Father´s job is way over the top.

I don´t believe it is an attack to say that this writer is blind. Or just another psychophant.

The most attractive girls are those who look pleasant. Not the sullen ones.

And she is the spitting image of her father.

There is not one single attractive Liberal/Democrat in public office.

No attack. Just saying Madam Queen is a Fashion Victim who most often wears the wrong clothes for the occasion, ill-fitting (including too tight), and garish. The first Nickolodeon first lady is stuck in her teens. Maybe Malia will end up teaching mamma to dress?

Anything atributed to "staff" is usually something so awful you don´t want to put your name to it.

That picture of mommmy and daughter in their pedal pushers was enough to do me in. You say someone has a great sense of color when you don´t want to say that an outfit makes them look cheap or fat.

The young lady would be quite striking if she didn´t have her father´s perpetual chin-in-the-air look of scorn for those around her.

I won´t pick on the girl and I wish her well, but for "staff" to insist that she inherited her remarkable sense of style to make her America´s next style icon makes me wonder if we´re talking about the same president´s wife. Surely they jest! Somewhere in the article there´s bound to be a hidden happy face or a "NOT" or "JUST TEASING TO SEE IF READERS ARE PAYING ATTENTION." There are way too many actual photos of the current First Lady floating around to refute the claim that she´s a fashion icon, poised and elegant. But then, remembering how many Americans voted for her husband in the recent election, it makes me wonder if a large segment of the population has any sense themselves, fashion or otherwise.

She definitely has Barack Obama´s body. As to her looks, I think the media judges women on looks too much. When I say media, I include women in the media who harp on and on about women´s looks. I never hear men harping on and on about other men´s looks unless they´re some batty queen.

At the end of the day, what you see with women in public is basically something that has layers of foundation, tons of mascara and rivers of lipstick. Where did au naturel go?

As someone said, do not read the Daily Mail as you might read other media.

Celebrities, the royals, and fashion are the DM catnip. They can´t control themselves.

But parody is often in there. They understand the daggers and use it.

And on hard news they will often take on stories the US LSM buries.

While the Supreme Court considers one challenge to a provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), a federal appeals court located just blocks away is contemplating a separate challenge that could have much more dire consequences for the future of the law. “What you’re asking for is to destroy the individual mandate, which guts the statute,” Judge Harry T. A well-loved Maryland supermarket is being forced to limit the amount of full time workers they hire because of the harsh mandates imposed by Obamacare. Snider’s Superfoods, family owned and operated since 1946, says that they will not be hiring any new baggers or cashiers in order to avoid the 50 worker threshold, which under the new Obamacare stipulations, would require that they provide health insurance if they employ 50 or more full time workers. Kevin Kuhlman, Manager of Legislative Affairs at the National Federation of Independent Businesses, explained employers’ financially motivated decision not to hire more workers to avoid the

White House spokesman Jay Carney said he doesn´t know when the administration plans to release more information about the 7.5 million Americans who signed up for Obamacare on the federal exchanges by the March 31 deadline. The Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services “are working to crunch the numbers and assess the data and collect it in a way that provides as much information as possible,” he said Monday during his daily briefing with reporters. “I don´t have a timetable for when that would happen,” he added. Carney also noted that the

Jill Kelley, whose complaint about cyberstalking led to the discovery of a CIA sex scandal, said she is grateful for support being shown by two Republican congressmen upset that the Justice Department won’t investigate who leaked her name to the media. “I am honored that Congress is demanding accountability so that my family’s unwarranted tragedy will bring forth tougher penalties, more sanctions and newer policies in the hope that other victims of a crime will not be dissuaded or afraid to trust our government,” she said in a statement emailed Monday to The Tampa Tribune. Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

On Fox News Sunday, political analyst Brit Hume said that Eric Holder’s claim that his treatment at the hands of Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) at a House hearing this week was unprecedented toward an Attorney General, made him a “crybaby,” and that he and President Barack Obama had in fact benefited “enormously” from being the first African Americans in their respective positions. “This strikes me as kinda crybaby stuff from Holder,” Hume said. “My sense about this is both Eric Holder and Barack Obama have benefited politically enormously from the fact that they are African American and the first to

Let me obliterate a bit of confusion here: the Obama administration attempted to go to war with a rancher in Nevada. Let me amplify a little bit of truth: They tucked tail and have returned home. And let me add a bit of clarity: they had no choice! As the nation began to become familiar with the plight of the family of Cliven Bundy, many of us harkened back to another standoff in which the Federal government attempted to bully it´s outcome: Waco, Texas and the Branch Davidian massacre. It is telling that in the Nevada case the feds pulled out so

They’re both qualified, respectful of each other (shocker!), and represent the vast majority of middle America. So what’s not to like about another Clinton/Bush race for 2016? When you mention the prospect of Clinton vs. Bush 2016 a funny thing happens. First, there is the reflexive response: "Oh no, not again. We don´t need more dynastic politics in this country." But upon further reflection, you realize Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton would be a great race and actually good for the country. Let´s review. QUALIFICATIONS—THEY’VE BOTH GOT THEM. Barack Obama won the presidency because in an election where the premium was on change, it mattered little

A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

Chelsea Clinton says when people ask her these days whether she wants to go into politics, her answer isn’t an automatic “no.” The 34-year-old former first daughter told Fast Company in an interview published Monday, “for so long the answer was just a visceral no. Not because I had made any conscientious, deliberate decision, but since people had been asking for as long as literally I could remember, it was no." Now, the only child of former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explains, "I live in a city and a state and a country where I

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. Many Republicans are re-evaluating their strong stances on conservative social issues as public

President Obama pulled a surprise move Monday at the White House’s Easter Prayer Breakfast when he selected Gene Robinson to lead the closing prayer. Robinson is famously known as the first openly gay Episcopal bishop. Talking Points Memo’s Tom Kludt spotted the following tweet from Robinson, who was in attendance: (Tweet) Robinson, 66, became diocesan bishop of New Hampshire in March 2004. He retired in January 2013 and is currently a senior fellow at the progressive

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of

Some time back, whenever a big racial controversy erupted, I trained myself into the habit of reading about it at FoxNews.com, just for the unbelievable comment threads. Let’s put it this way: If my friends and I went out to a bar and started playing a “let’s write the racist FoxNews.com comment thread” drinking game, our efforts couldn’t begin to approach what I read there.I wasn’t alone. Liberal websites started feasting on these threads. And so, a couple of years ago, Ailes & Co. got wise. Stories about race were, at least in my disheartened experience, closed to comments.
