The pros and cons of
the cease fire agreement

Power Line, by Paul Mirengoff

Original Article

Posted By:MDMuskrat, 11/22/2012 10:47:06 AM

Let’s take a preliminary look at the advantages and disadvantages of the cease fire agreement, from an Israeli and traditional pro-Western perspective. There are two big advantages. First, the agreement puts an end, at least for now, to the bombardment of Israel. (snip) Now to the disadvantages. First, Hamas won. Why? Because it bombarded Israel and was not crushed for it. And because Israel reportedly agreed to an easing of its blockade of the Gaza Strip. (snip) By pushing for the deal, the Obama administration has demonstrated once again that it is no good friend of Israel.

Comments:
I break my depressed silence to post this article which shows how much this disgusting man, Obama, hates not only the U.S., but Israel even more. I plead G-d to strike this evil man before he can destroy Israel.

The most dangerous likely consequence follows from the fundamental problem of Leftism everywhere: denial of reality and the substitution of wish-fulfilling fantasies for what is actually happening and about to happen. This is the signature mark of Leftist ideology, the preference, often amounting to clinical denial of reality, and its replacement with comforting and gratifying fantasies that allay fear and increase self-esteem. Leftism, in short, is a disorder of emotional maturation. It is no accident that the trite observation that liberalism is natural to youth while conservatism frequently follows with age.

Israel is dealing with people who have stated they intend to wipe it off the map. Negotiating with such individuals is at best naive, at worst an act of suicidal madness. Yet this charade, this so-called "Peace Process," a kind of Holy Grail, has persisted in the minds of Westerners for half a century or more. Meanwhile the threat of nuclear weaponry in the hands of Israel´s enemies is growing by the day if not the hour. Anyone can see -should be able to see- where this is headed if nothing is done. The almost unimaginable coming catastrophe that is casting its shadow deeper and deeper over present events will in the final analysis be the fault of those willfully, indeed sinfully blind Western Leftists who have adamantly rejected reality in favor of their fantasies.

The last couple weeks was a trial run for a major ground invasion of Israel. You probably have world leftists studying Israel´s strengths and weaknesses and planning for them in the next round of attacks.

Israel treasures their citizens and that ironically puts them at greater risk in the long run. Someone needs to pull the trigger on going for broke and unleashing holy hell on the arab world.

Unfortunately,Obama would order a stand down position if this happened. He´s part of the cabal that wants Israel gone, then he´s coming after US crackers, make no mistake about it.

It´s a specious argument to say that although ´´the agreement puts an end, AT LEAST FOR NOW, to the bombardment of Israel,´´ Israel lost the war, while at the same time saying, ´´Hamas won. Why? Because it bombarded Israel and was not crushed for it,´´ without adding the same qualifying statement ´´AT LEAST FOR NOW.´´

If the agreement holds, Israel will be free of the numerous Hamas missile attacks it´s been subject to for years, and if it doesn´t hold, there will be another war in which Israel will again be bombarded by another round of Hamas missiles aimed at Tel Aviv which Israel´s Iron Dome has proved capable to deflecting.

On the other hand, if the agreement holds, there will be no need for the continued existence of Hamas, whose purpose is to destroy Israel, and if it doesn´t hold, Hamas will either lose another 30 of its leaders as it did last week, or finally be ´´crushed.´´

AT LEAST FOR NOW, a moment or two, Hamas and its media supporters can refuse to face reality and celebrate Hamas´s ´´victory´´ along with the equally deluded anti-Israel crowds of Hamas supporters dancing in the streets of Gaza. But Israel, not Hamas, is better off than it was last week.

Many ideas presented as "new" are just rehashes of old ideas that have been tried before -- and have failed before. So it is no surprise that the recent "Growth and Opportunity Project" report to the Republican National Committee is a classic example of what previous generations called "Me too" Republicanism. These are Republicans who think that the key to winning elections is to do more of what the Democrats are doing. In effect, they say "me too" on issues such as immigration, in hopes of gaining more new votes than they lose by betraying their existing supporters.

President Obama and Congress will not solve America’s problems unless the people force them to. Washington is America’s problem. We are the solution. America remains a conservative nation. But the people crave leadership — champions who will stand up to the progressives, take on the liberal media and push back against the Republican leadership when they go wobbly. They are tired of politicians. (snip) As we move ahead, we must remember that there is a distinction between the Republican Party and the conservative movement. National Republican leaders have not advanced a conservative agenda for almost 20 years.

IN MATTERS of foreign policy, Congress, and especially the Senate, was designed as a hedge against the abuses exhibited by overeager European monarchs who for centuries had whimsically entangled their countries in misguided adventures. America would not be such a place. The Constitution would protect our governmental process from the overreach of a single executive who might otherwise succumb to the impulsive temptation to unilaterally risk our country’s blood, treasure and international prestige. Congress was given the power to declare war and appropriate funds, thus eliminating any resemblance to European-style monarchies when it came to the presidential war power.

The Boy Scouts of America are in the news again, for the only thing they ever seem to be in the news for anymore: their attitudes toward homosexuals. Next week, the Scouts will hold a vote that´s widely expected to end the blanket ban on gays joining as members or holding adult leadership. By most accounts, the century-old organization will probably let individual chartering groups—many of which are churches—decide whether homosexuals can join and help run their troops.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church.
