Obama pushed Israel to accept

President Barack Obama pressured Israel’s prime minister to adopt a cease-fire agreement with Hamas that was pushed by Hamas’ Egyptian ally, according to a White House statement released on Wednesday. Obama “commended [Israel’s] Prime Minister for agreeing to the Egyptian ceasefire proposal – which the President recommended the Prime Minster do,” said the 12.31 a.m. EST statement from the White House. The cease-fire terms released by Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi’s office do not mention any binding curbs on its ally Hamas, nor any guarantees that would prevent another wave of

Someone has Bibi by the short hairs. I´m glad they waited the 24 hours so cankles could get credit for all this. Wish Bibi could tell all of them what to do up rope.

Do not agree. Obama called Bibi and begged him to stop. Bibi drove a hard bargain 1) give me money to restock and improve the iron dome and 2) you and Hillary make strong public statements in support of Israel - or you have my word, Obama, I will wipe that rat´s nest in Gaza off the face of the earth.

I used to like Morsi when he fronted The Smiths. But his solo work was sub-par. Now that he´s become president of Egypt, he´s become insufferable.

Reply 5 - Posted by: gesundheit, 11/21/2012 8:36:46 PM     (No. 9028481)

There is no Hamas left to be ´´friendly´´ to.

Why did President Morsi of Egypt have to negotiate on behalf of Hamas? Because Israeli missiles took out 30 of Hamas´s top officials, and there was no one left in the Hamas heirarchy to participate in the ceasefire negotiations.

And the minute Hamas elects new leaders and they start sending rockets into Israeli kindergartens again, Israel will eliminate the new leaders, too.

#3 Please share the source of your information. I so want to believe that is the case. A cease fire for Hammas only means cease till they can re arm.

#6 - only Bibi and Obama know the actual details of their conversation, but this hypothesis seems obvious from 1) Bibi´s strong personality and his likely reaction to Obama´s plea for Israel to back off from their "cleaning out of the Gaza rat´s nest". Remember, Bibi has Obama´s number based upon Obama´s past snubbings and 2) Why else would Obama agree to iron dome financial support and Obama´s and HIllary´s recent statements of "rock-solid" support for Israel?

I am convinced that Obama hates Israel and Bibi´s only bargaining chip is for Israelto threaten to wipe out Obama´s terrorist friends.

I do think #3 has hit the bulls-eye, or at least is on the right track. Driving home this evening I recalled when Bubba Clinton worked his supposed magic to create a Middle East peace and there was money involved. Arafat kept holding out for more. This time around I wonder who, apart from Israel, got our money. The Palestinians? Egypt? Hamas? Isn´t the Palestinians and Hamas one and the same?

So I guess Bibi gets a free pass here even among those who considered him a "real leader" and contrasted him so sharply with our own beloved Zippy the Marxist. Seems there are no Churchill´s left in this modern world as it would appear to me that Netanyahu doesn´t qualify. I wonder how the survivors of the bus explosion {if there are any} feel about his deal with the devils.

On this weekend’s broadcast of the syndicated “Inside Washington” television program, conservative Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer blasted Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul’s recent filibuster and mocked the idea of a drone attack on United States soil.“Well look, I am grateful he raised this issue, because I think we have reached a point in the country where we are sick and tired of the way the administration is going around blowing people to kingdom come while sitting in their living rooms because of a suspicion — I’m talking about Americans,” Krauthammer said.

Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions voiced concerns over the bipartisan proposal for immigration reform introduced on Monday by eight senators, saying the plan will substantially increase the already sky-high national debt and criticizing the federal government for inadequately enforcing existing immigration laws. “No one should expect the members of the Senate are just going to rubber stamp what a group who met decided,” Sessions said on the Senate floor. While immigration system needs to be reformed, Sessions said, the country has been through this dance before. The Alabama senator recalled the failed promise of enforcement following immigration reform in 1986

White House sources are telling Democratic reporters that the president is willing to go over the so-called “fiscal cliff” if GOP leaders don’t agree to his demand for higher tax rates on the wealthy without substantive spending cuts. A political deadlock would mean an automatic tax increase for middle-class and wealthy Americans on January 1, and the opportunity for Obama and the Democrats to push a tax-cutting bill for middle-class voters in 2013, say the White House officials, who leaked the claim to two liberal columnists.Republican lawmakers, including House Speaker John Boehner, say they are opposed

ABOARD A U.S. MILITARY AIRCRAFT — The FBI probe into the sex scandal that led to the resignation of CIA director David Petraeus has expanded to ensnare Gen. John R. According to a senior U.S. defense official, the FBI has uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 pages of “potentially inappropriate” emails between Allen and Jill Kelley, a 37-year-old Tampa woman whose close friendship with Petraeus ultimately led to his downfall. It is a common tactic among politicians and others who are in trouble to plead guilty to a lesser offense in order to distract attention from their real transgression. That is, I think, what the Obama administration has done in admitting belatedly that the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was an act of terrorism, not, as Mark Steyn put it, a movie review that got out of hand. Scott detailed that sorry history earlier this morning. The administration hopes, I think, that acknowledging the obvious with respect to the nature of the attack will allow the press

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. Some conservatives have called on Obama to give up golf, especially since popular public tours of the White House have been canceled because of

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

The state of California is reportedly considering legislation that would force group insurance policies to provide infertility treatment for gay and lesbian couples. Two men who have sex with each other for a year and do not produce a baby would be considered “infertile” under the proposed legislation. So would two women having sex. Since biology does not allow those without a uterus to conceive or those without a penis to impregnate, every year-long gay couple in California would potentially be covered by this new provision of California law.
