Phony war hero Danny Crane
admits he was lying

Tampa Tribune [FL], by Elaine Silvestrini

Original Article

Posted By:Jakester2344, 11/21/2012 5:01:28 PM

Tampa — Danny Crane bragged that he was the "most decorated veteran in Florida." He claimed he had been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, two Purple Hearts, an Air Medal and other war-related awards. He said he was injured fighting in Iraq, he was shot six times, lost vision in his right eye, had 24 plates in his face and broke all his ribs. He told people he did tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. And he told Veterans Affairs he had post-traumatic stress disorder. None of this was true. In fact, Crane was discharged from the Army after serving less than three months, and he never fought in a war.

FTA: Not only did Crane bilk the VA of more than $7,000 ...

How in Hades does this happen? The VERY few times I´ve been to a VA hospital, they´ve required every page of my medical records. If this jackwagon served only three months (hell - that´s boot camp!) then it should have been more than obvious that he was a phony.

He also claimed to have survived the sinking of the USS Indianapolis by killing a shark with his bare hands. Shortly thereafter he got shot in the gut during Pickett´s Charge.

Doubling down on the

Jeez. A national campaign to get rid of me. More emails than I can read. Threats of an advertising boycott. An answering machine jammed with hate-filled calls. It’s pig heaven for an attention-craving columnist. What did I do to deserve this? I suggested that we stop asking taxpayers to foot the bill for military funeral honors for all veterans. The people in charge of these things have already decided we can’t afford live buglers. One of the buglers contacted me, and that got me thinking. Why are we doing this in the first place?

Is the Iraq war to blame for the mess we are in? Now, I should qualify that question by explaining "mess" and "we." By "mess," I mean the dawn of Barack Obama´s second term, the predictably catastrophic rollout of Obamacare, the exploding debt and deficit, the stimulus boondoggles, etc. By "we," I mean conservatives (particularly those, like me, who supported the war), but also anyone else who doesn´t think Obama has done a bang-up job. There seems to be a growing consensus that the answer to that question is "yes."

Mark Kelly may not yet be a household name, but he’s the better or worse half of Gabby Giffords, and together with her is the public face of Americans for Responsible Solutions, a PAC funded by a Texas lawyer to ban assault rifles. On FOX, Kelly said, “In 1934, we banned automatic weapons. You know, I argue the semi-automatic assault weapon with a high capacity magazine is just too dangerous to be on the street where criminals and terrorists and the mentally ill can easily get them.”

Christianity ´close to extinction´

Christianity faces being wiped out of the “biblical heartlands” in the Middle East because of mounting persecution of worshippers, according to a new report. The study warns that Christians suffer greater hostility across the world than any other religious group. And it claims politicians have been “blind” to the extent of violence faced by Christians in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The most common threat to Christians abroad is militant Islam, it says, claiming that oppression in Muslim countries is often ignored because of a fear that criticism will be seen as “racism”.

The conservative movement took it pretty good on the chin earlier this week. President Obama and his liberal allies mobilized their vote and got it out very effectively in the key states. On Tuesday night, as I went to bed, I was extremely down and out. But on Wednesday, as the sun rose, my spine stiffened and it was a brand new day. Our conservative cause has taken hits again and again, and each time we come back stronger.

A new poll from Wenzel Strategies shows Rep. Todd Akin leading incumbent Senator Claire McCaskill in the race for the Senate seat in Missouri. It’s big news that Akin is still alive and kicking despite being abandoned by the national Republican Party leadership. Akin, who refused to succumb to pressure from his own party leadership to get out of the race after poorly expressing himself in an interview on the issue of rape and abortion, has been left to his own resources and friends to raise funds. According to the just published fundraising report for the last quarter, going through September,

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. Some conservatives have called on Obama to give up golf, especially since popular public tours of the White House have been canceled because of

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. The NRA claims that the president’s efforts have triggered a fundraising surge and boosted its membership from 4 million to nearly 5 million.

Whatever big-busted fantasies crawl around the ex-congressman’s delirious noggin, la Weiner made his next goal as clear as the skin of the wholesome college students he craved: He relishes being Mayor Weiner. Please, shut up this clown. These days, the genitally obsessed Weiner has nothing much to do, except sit in his lavish Manhattan apartment and — the inhumanity! — change the poopy diapers of his 16-month-old son, Jordan. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius conceded Monday that implementing the Affordable Care Act has been more complicated and frustrating than the Obama administration expected, largely due to Republicans who have opposed the law´s state-based exchanges and Medicaid expansion. "The politics has been relentless and that continues," Sebelius said. "There was some hope that once the Supreme Court ruled in July, and then once an election occurred there would be a sense that, ´This is the law of the land, let´s get on board, let´s make this work.´"
