The Benghazi Conspiracy
New York Times, by Andrew Rosenthal

Original Article

Republicans have the same basic attitude toward conspiracy theories as the Plains Indians had toward the buffalo – they are the basis of life, even religion, and no part, no matter how minor, should go unexploited. Hence Senator John McCain’s milking of the Benghazi attack. Or, rather, not the attack itself but the Obama administration’s response to it. He and other Republicans seem to think that the White House, and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, played down the possibility that Al Qaeda operatives were behind the attack, so that President Obama could boast on the campaign trail that his

Wasn´t the mantra of Obama´s campaing something like "Al Quaeda or Bin Laden is dead and GM is alive?"
This fits the narrative for the campaing.

Is "conspiracy theory" their new "racism" - a way to automatically discredit legitimate critique of Dear Leader? I´ve been noticing how often the court eunuchs cry "conspiracy theory!" lately when Dear Leader gets caught with his pants on fire.

And speaking of that still very suspicious birth certificate...

Fist off Andy, who cares what you or that worthless rag think? Your slavish devotion to this administration is glaringly evident so anything you say is viewed with skepticism.

Second, nothing you said conflicts with the theory that I and millions of americans hold which is, this administration withheld information and distorted the information they released in order to help Obama win the election.

Interesting view, particularly if you like talking gerbils.

Based on the testimony it is no longer in dispute that the -0- administration peddled a false story – i.e. “lied to the American people”.

The comment that -0- has ordered the killing of people in the war on terror is odd, and weirdly out of place. The issue here is that 4 Americans were murdered in what was obviously a terrorist attack on US soil, and the administration lied about it, and continues to obfuscate for political cover. That really isn’t even in dispute at this point. There are lots of unanswered questions, and the lack of media curiosity is surreal.

Americans saw and heard the president, the Secretary of State, and Susan Rice repeatedly claiming that the attacks were spontaneous demonstrations caused by an anti-Islam film. The president went before the UN and said this. These pathetic people with their deceptions actually started Americans talking and arguing about the limits, if any, of freedom of speech.

We HEARD this and we SAW this. Does the writer think we havve forgotten it? Does he think we are idiots?

It is one thing to say that doubt remains as to whether Al Quaeda or any other group was involved. No one can argue with caution in assigning specific responsibility before the facts support it. But this is not the question at hand.

The administration´s talking points were that the attacks were caused by an anti-Islam film. They expressed no doubt whatever about this. They claimed that the demonstrations were spontaneous. Again, they expressed no doubt about this. They apologized to Muslims for the film they claimed, right away, immediately, the moment the attacks took place, while they were still going on, caused the whole thing.

This is a disgraceful article by a man so blinded by his partisanship that he no longer dwells in the same world as the rest of us. It is, or would be, if it were not the norm, unbelievable.

As soon as I started reading Andrew´s article, I could feel the saliva building in my mouth... and a strong desire to spew it in Andrew´s face -- had he been in the same room as I. (+ I´ve never spit at anyone!)

The root of Benghazi is that it is a MURDER investigation of four Americans, and one of the four an Ambassador wilfully abandoned (by the U.S. Government/President)without sufficient protection.

Please: do NOT allow the word ´Murder´ to drop from any of these discussions/investigation.

And yes, #5 - I think "´conspiracy theory´ their new ´racism´ - a way to automatically discredit legitimate critique of Dear Leader." Let´s not walk into their verbal traps.

Well, this conspiracy "theory" has more evidence backing it up than your much vaunted "theory" of interspecies evolution which you now hold as an axiom. Go ahead and ridicule this as fanciful thinking but like the McCarthyism liberal boogeyman, this too will be shown, too late for those hurt by it, to have basis in reality. This time, though, many lives will be lost while Obama plays savior to the islamic world.

What do you call a president sending someone with no direct knowledge of the Benghazi attack to speak for his administration, spouting out lies not once but five times before an election that he would have lost if he was shown to be a liar on having defeated islamic terrorism rather than enabling it? I would say that there was a conspiracy among Jarrett, Donilon, Clinton, Obama and Rice at the very least to lie about the cause of the attack when they all knew otherwise.

Americans who are fed up with Obamacare won a victory yesterday. The House voted to defund Obamacare while still funding the federal government to avoid a “devastating” shutdown. It was an overcast, albeit relatively mild August day by Washington D.C. standards, fifty years ago today, as I joined the thousands walking along Constitution Avenue toward the Lincoln Memorial.
